Good looking fly! When you do the zonker collar, you can feed the strip through the dubbing loop leather first. Once the leather is through the loop, pull to length and trim. That was a game change for me. Makes a more neat and clean zonker collar.

Hm, sorry but i’m slightly confuse lol. I thought that was what i did? I have it in while it was attach to the leather then cut it. I adjust the length after because i dont like to have too much hair on the short side. Maybe im missing something so please correct me 🤣

A D-Loop tweezer comes in handy when using squirrel or rabbit in a dubbing loop. Highly recommend

Not really sure why you are using the wire you can't see it I just think it would be better to tie it in with your thread but it's a good looking fly 😊 I will try and tie some!!

I think the main reason for the wire is to prevent the strip to slip. I think it happen more than people think. If you find that u tie it without wire and it work find then obviously dont stop.
Thanks for watching! Its a great fly to add in your box for sure, hopefully it catch some monster for u. Hopefully you find this video informational

All that fussing with the hair was probably unnecessary that hair goes back the second it's in the water

I dont think your wrong. I also want to make the fly look good to me and i care about small detail. Obviously u dont have to do what i do and it will still catch you lots of fish
