- In this video I have tie an articulated streamer that I tie in order to mimic a juvenile rainbow trout. This video is lengthy but I hope you find the value in learning why I use the material I do and make this fly the way that it is.
Material List:
Barred Chartreuse bunny strip
Fish skull
O'Shaunessy Hook in size 2 and 1/0
Saddle hackle and Shlappen in white
Uv Chenille Silver
Laser Dub in Olive and White

Your skills are 🔥! Glad I found this channel.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy it. Hopefully the white shirt didn’t throw you off 😅
@@THFlyFishing No actually it didn't. I did see the comment pertaining to. I agree with planning contrast when tying. It would make what's already great pop a little. You did a great job. I used to tie in my preteens and teens with my step dad. I was addicted for so long to just making flies. 😂 Back then my step dad would order materials from a fishing magazine ad. It always kept me busy. Rock on! Keep plugging! You'll hit 100k in no time.
@@catherinebeatific535 thanks for the encouragement! It mean a lot. Also you used to tie? Why you stop? It seem like you have a great step dad lol
@@THFlyFishing I did and he was pretty amazing. He's since passed. He took me to Pennsylvania to fly fish my first time. The flies fascinated me. That first trip I ran them all through my hands imagining how each was made. He surprised me with a kit from a fishing catalog. That's when the addiction started. I spent hours and days making flies. I'd wake and lay down at night thinking of tying. 😂 There's absolutely nothing comparable to me than being in nature. Each tie I'd daydream about our next trip. Even when I couldn't be on a stream my mind was there when tying.
Hard to see the Hackle against your white shirt😢
Oh shoot. Im so sorry. I usually wear white in my vid because most trout fly is darker in colour or in vibrant colour. I think i just forgot that im using white today 😅🥲
