Tying my best performing Stillwater pattern (with a surprise blooper)

  • Over the past couple year, I have gotten more and more into Stillwater fishing for trout. This is a pattern that I had mess around with and tie earlier on in my journey of Stillwater fly fishing and also a pattern that had created many success for me over the years.
    Material list:
    peacock Ice Dub (or a colour of choice)
    Jig hook of your choice
    Tungsten bead
    Marabou (I use black primary but you can play with colour)

    Yeah this one's a keeper. I'm gonna use that nail trick for adding weight to my flies. Definitely just increased my options with this one. Thx alot! Looking forward to learning more in the future. Tight lines!

      Lol the nail is actually suppose to be a straight pin cut out like the other balance leech, I got an oversize one to prevent the bead falling out but it does look like a nail, one thing I’m doing now that changes is that I’m turning the bead around so the thick side of the bead kinda just cover up that section. Overall it is a very good pattern and I hope you catch ton of fish on it!! Hopefully I can hear back on how u do
