I am a 21 year old virgin and I've recently come to the realization that I actually want more friends and hobbies rather than a significant other at the moment. It's almost like when you're younger and wanna be a teenager or adult already but then you realize that once you turn 21, you'll have the rest of your life to be an adult but your time as a kid is limited.
Once I got to this realization, I've been more content with my life in general. It still gets me down every once in a while but not so much anymore so as to call it an insecurity. My time will come and I'm sure that by then I'll be ready 👍

Some people are such creeps that they are virgins for a reason, they repulse the people they try to approach. Those people should be ashamed, not for being virgins, but for being absolute creeps. And I think most people think of those type of bad examples when they think 30 yo virgin. And I think if you go around announcing to everybody that you are a virgin and makes this big a deal of it I think it's safe to say I can see why that person is a virgin to begin with. "Hey I'm Beth I'm a virgin". "What-- who--what??! I didn't ask for such personal information wtf is wrong with you! I literally just met you!" I think announcing such personal info to randoms is pretty creepy so this lady just shot herself in the foot there. I bet after that party everyone went home and talked about how weird she is and that they never want to hang out with her ever again and then warn other people how weird she is too.

I am a virgin by choice and will never be intimate with someone I don't see myself wanting to be in a relationship with or be able to trust. There are too many douchebag men out there that think a woman's virginity is like a hunting trophy, the more they get the more alpha male they are. Honestly I am happy being a virgin and I won't give it up to just anyone. I've dealt with creeps and I'm glad I respected myself and have strong enough morals to avoid them. Me personally: i just havent been that into the idea 🤷🏼‍♀️ maybe to try it, but past that i just dont have an interest in it. I dont get the excitement, or the desire for it, etc. it just isnt there.

I would never feel the need to announce it to my friends--the only person that needs to know that is someone romantically involved with me (that and this comment but that's pretty anonymous for me, lol). I remember all my girl friends who lost their virginity in high school would brag about it in the halls, I guess because it made them feel mature. But one on one, they'd tell me how awful and painful it was. My older sister got pregnant very young and seeing the struggle she had was definite birth control for me! I waited until I was older, had a decent job, was on the pill and was with someone that I really cared for. My first time was really nice. He took the time to make it special and made sure I was ready. People should do it when it feels right for them, not just to please someone else. It's definitely an important part of a healthy relationship as a way to physically show someone how much you care, but it's not the end all be all of loving someone.

That's a valiant aspiration, but you are setting yourself up for some serious heartache and depression when your first really serious relationships go to shit. They almost always do. Just a heads up.

Dude, same, and I'm 28. Just introverted and don't really care. It's really not a big deal even though parts of society constantly tells us it is.

I hope you find the person you're waiting for. I waited until I was 20. A few blokes left me at 16/17 as i wasn't ready . 16 years and a 10 year old later and he still sends me stupid pics of Uranus 🤦😂

Couldn’t have said better myself. 25 and haven’t either. I waited this long, I’d rather be it with someone that I actually care for and feel close to. People make it such a big deal for some reason and I don’t get it.

Same here. Call me old fashioned but I believe I should be able to tell someone I love you and mean it with my whole heart before I sleep with someone. The hardest part is finding someone that feels the same, most guys just want an easy lay.

    virginity is a social construct.

I hate that "being a virgin" has been stigmatized by society, when people hear the word virgin they just assume that this person must be undesirable or incapable of attracting a partner. I use to feel ashamed when I was in high school because everyone else was losing it but I was still a virgin. As a 31 year old adult I could really care less about it, what's important is finding that special someone that makes you happy.

When her friend said “ I’m a virgin as well” it made me imagine a plot twist where everyone at the party turn out to be virgins as well. 😂
Honestly nothing wrong with being or not being a virgin. What bugs me about this lady though, she is trying to make it seem like not a big deal, she wants to get rid of it, she’s uncomfortable about it and yet she turns around and throws a party for her “big secret” while being filmed for a show about her being a virgin. She goes between “ Oops I kinda forgot” personally to “ it makes me feel uncomfortable” to “ let’s throw a party that may circulate some interest” in a span of 8 minutes. Not trying to be mean but dude pick one. It’s either not a big deal or it’s something that you’re uncomfortable about to where you wanna “ get rid of it” quietly and forget about it or you want attention to the fact that you’re a virgin so you dedicate a party to it…

Every last one of you mental midgets, honestly, do you all know what it is like to be virgins? At least she is legitimately trying to escape being one, whereas you lot love being them in your lives.

I always found it interesting how if a women in her teens/20s was still a virgin it was almost idolized by some guys where as if a guy was still a virgin around that age he was viewed “not as manly”. Or on the other aspect if a women has a high body count she is shamed but if a man has a high body count he is praises by “the boys”. There is just heavy double standards around the whole topic

There’s a reason for that, guys have to put in work to get laid whereas women don’t. From an evolutionary standpoint women can get pregnant so they have more to lose and men only have everything to gain from sleeping around biologically speaking

@@patrickfleming253 and women have to put in as much work as man. "Women get pregnant" ok? And men have children who they have to take care of as well
