- Wondering what it takes to learn to ride an electric unicycle? Most people can learn, but it is like picking up a new skill similar to learning how to ride a bike. You can do it by yourself, and you just need a little practice.
Featured in the video: Glide 3 (now known as InMotion V8) with protective cover. Available at www.euco.us/products/inmotion...

I don’t even know why I’m watching this if I’m not planing on buying one.
Buy a Monaro instead
Its a car...😂
@Direct Netstores I broke a wrist on a hoverboard after my friend told me "just step off" (because he failed to mention not to step off in a forward direction). This guy in the video is saying exactly the same bullshit without telling you how hard these things can sweep under your feet in a blink of an eye if you're not warned about how powerful these things accelerate when you don't want them to.
cornflake and nobody tells u not to put a cat into a microwave, and yet only americans do that.. use your brain ..if youtube is not enough
I want to like this comment but it's on 69 likes
Hey you guys sold me a V8F AND i love it. I'm 74 so i limit the speed to 15 and it moves me good. Today i was riding a good distance in the snow. Me and the wheel did great, kinda cold for the old guy but not horrible 17deg. I think.
If this 74 year old gentleman can learn to ride one of these in the snow, in 17 degree weather.... Nobody has any excuses 🤣
I'm going on about 2 weeks now and can easily ride my kingsong s18 with ease. Thank you stranger.
Age is just a number, right ?
@@hvguy hahah, you beat me to it dude
Hahaha lol hvguy
BEST learning video I've seen so far. I just started today (55 year old guy) and was able to actually ride consistently. After stopping and reviewing some vids, this one applies best to me. I think the most valuable part was the portion where you did the one foot for extended distances with light touchdowns and emphasizing the body positions.
Hi, how have you been liking it? I'm just checking in and wondering. My dad is 55 as well and I was wondering if you ever experienced any difficulties or got hurt bad.
@@actavisSL2 Poor chap didn't make it. Beautiful maiden in spandex on a seatless unicycle distracted him and he went right through the red light. Cement truck never even felt him.
Hard to understand why they haven't outlawed spandex. So many lives could be spared.
@Actavis I am 52 and got a really bad ankle bite so far. Get safety gear and I think it's the safest pev out there.
It's been a week since receiving my very first solo wheel and I'm sure that I would still be spilling out and letting the wheel get away from me, if not for this tutorial. On my first day, within hours I was riding without incident. By the end of the day I was riding with complete confidence. Great Job!
Yay! We are so glad this video has helped you! Ride on ✌
BTW, I'm 66 years old. If this fossil can learn, anyone can. Thanks again.
Great to hear! And it's true - when it comes to age, we've seen it all. :)
Good for you
One of the best tutorial videos I have ever seen. Well done. I learned a lot
As a day two rider, this is one of the more interesting tutorials I've seen. Will try the techniques tomorrow.
You are a good instructor, you cover all the basics in detail, understandable and easy to practice.
Did strap his one foot onto the one side? Because when I try this the wheel runs away and doesn't stay balance like skate board to do that?
Good tips. Especially when you talk about posture. I am still in beginner mode. At age 58, I am been trying for an hour a day for about a week. I am really good at making a circle, but still need to work on foot control. I have to be more careful than most, so yea I have all the safety gear. Admittedly I look a little nerdy, but my safety is more important than trying to look glamorous. I can taste victory coming and I can't wait.
Awesome video of great help, picked up a wheel today and worked out my first ride within 2 minutes. Now need more practice for fine tuning especially the turning. Thanks heaps for sharing.
I may never scrape up the nerve to try one, but your instruction sure does make me feel that I could learn if I followed your lead. Good job.
Just wanted to come back here and say that this video was an immense help when I was learning to ride. I've been riding since May and am very comfortable now, but those first forrays are indeed difficult. Using the tips in this video I was able to ride around my block in a matter of hours instead of days. Thanks again
This has to be one of the best tutorials. Thanks!
Thanks, it took me like 30 minutes to start riding the wheel after I watched this video. Very useful
finally a really instructive video! i have an airwheel mars rover q5. i barely used it 5-6 times in the past 3 years, simply because there wasn't a proper tutorial. million thanks for this tutorial. i will now attempt again.
Other than getting really dizzy spinning in a circle, your video has been extremely helpful for me as a first timer! This is definitely the best instruction out there. Thank you for making it!
Thanks Richard!
this video was very informative and it helped me tremendously with gaining confidence to ride my unicycle , thank you for such great detail in explaining each steps.
Very good job. Thank you for this helpful demonstration 👍
Great video .Thanks for your help Just got my unicycle and definitely going to use your training methods. and take my time.
After watching this clip 10 times I was up and commuting 17kms to work within a month! Awesome clip and advice!!
What a great teacher you are!
Love it! Very clear instruction! I'm a beginner.
This is the best video out there for learning to ride.Basic and to the point. It was my go to video.
This is about the best method i’ve seen for learning to ride euc. Have been teaching riders for approx 4+ yrs and this is close to how we have people up ar going usually in 20 to 30 minutes. All the older vids on learning are outdated.
Thanks for posting
Peter Brierley I
I've watched a bunch of euc learning vids and this it the one that helped me most. I use a lot of these tips when showing new people too and it works a treat
Glad we could help! Thanks for watching :)
The turning tip was the best piece of advice. It allowed me to totally ignore the wall grabbing part and move straight onto balance. Still haven't figured out how to stop comfortably yet.
I watched a few of these videos and this one seemed the best by far.
This is the first instructional video I landed on to learn how to ride the electric unicycle. I want one of these! I want to get a simple version to get started. Enjoyed this, saving this and subscribing. Excellent learning tool. Thanks for the step by steps in riding this vehicle! 👍🏾
Great teacher very good to show how to use it the one wheel tumps up for you
Just got one today, this is a helpful video. Thanks!
Thanks for all the great videos!
Fab vid. Thank you. Hoping that the UK finally allows this great and green form of travel.
Thank you! Cheers from Palm Springs!
I found that just relaxing and NOT looking at the ground right in front of your wheel or staring at the cycle was the biggest help. I learned that from many seasons as a ski instructor. And trying to go slow to avoid an accident is the worst thing, like a motorcycle or 2 wheel bike that is one of the hardest things to do.
In motorcycle training they teach you to look at where you wanna go. We often do this by instinct when driving a car but for some people it won't transfer into other skills such as this.
We often don't even notice we're doing it 🐱
Thank you so much for those helpful tips!
Excellent.
I want to start now, I was inquiring and or seen your video.
Fantastic.
Thank you.
Thanks, looking forward to getting one.
Thank you, it"s a very good tutorial. Congratulations.
For some riders (including me), it is easier to use support to mount and launch to learn to ride first (yaw and tilt steer) before trying to free mount. Since I learned to ride first, I didn't (and still don't) one foot glide, just step and hop on like a skateboard. However, based on this and other videos, a lot of new riders do just fine with the one foot drills and step and tap method, although it seems like it would be more tiring. Another issue is for an experienced motorcycle rider (I started back in 1966, but it wasn't till 1968 that I was properly counter-steering, I'm 70 years old), where you learn that looking isn't going to turn a motorcycle, only (counter) steering inputs. To prepare for lane changes, I"m looking to the side and back while going straight, and also looking to the side for cross traffic at intersections. One of my early goals when learning to ride my V8F was to be able to move my arms and|or look around without upsetting balance or changing direction.
I just ordered a V5F. Can't wait to learn this!
Fantastic tutorial. Very comprehensive and makes the process not intimidating at all. I just unboxed my solowheel v3 tonight and this video has me very excited to try it out tomorrow
Glad to hear it!! Hopefully you are up and running now.
Please confirm if you’re still alive.
Excellent pedagogy - speaking as a teacher. You also inspire confidence and a sense of logical progression in each step of learning. I've owned 50 motorcycles and maybe that many mountain bikes. Time to move on to an EUC, and avoid killing myself in doing so.
Sounds like you're an adrenaline junkie. Some of these can go over 60mph. Amazon sells ones that go over 40mph. Sounds like pure stupidity on one wheel. I'm gonna keep this under 20 probably under 15 because we all know we will all fall many times. I can survive under 20. 🙏
Just the video I needed. Have a Segway a mini Segway and a Onewheel, got the EuC today and this is very different. I could get started when I held onto a car. Only got to spend about 20min with this so far. Watching this Is should me get going, I got the V8
Just ordered mine. Thanks for the tutorial
Great to hear and glad it helped!
Excellent video! Thanks so much for sharing.
Thank you. You have good technical
Great vid .. thanks a lot ..quick question to the inmotion guys - do you offer a protective bag for the v10f as well ? I know that you offer that for the v8 ...what about the v10f ?
Thanks !
definitely copping one this summer
Thanks for the info teach. Going to try it.
Totally the best lesson! I just got the KS18L. I don't want to graduate from a smaller one. I'm learning in my living room for the carpet. I'll do your hop method soon. Thanks! BTW, could you show us how to bounce down stairs?
The best EUC training video out there. Other techniques use less steps, which may be okay for some. But for me, this technique has gotten me the furthest.
Thats the idea of Platform like yt
to show other people in our world
how things work
and how did i managed it for myself ♡
Greetings from Germany
really good instructional video. thanks!!
I'm planning to buy one, I'm from the Philippines love your content ❤️
Thanks. Very informative video!
Awesome I have an eye on this product . I just need to get more info like this and on the euc. Thank you
I got myself the v8 Your video on learning was the best advice I've seen, I followed your advice for 3 days. I got it going great after I got going I went 4 mile down by the Brisbane river, unreal feeling only problem I can't turn, can you help out with some advice, I'm a bit slow being 71 but that won't stop me.
John Haig I’m impressed. I’m 62 and thought I would be the oldest rider I ever saw on a V8. For turning, I’d suggest getting used to tilting the wheel left or right to turn, or use your shoulders and turn them in the direction you want to go, or a little or both. I find it extremely helpful to look exactly where I want to go, even if I’m going in a straight line. Good luck!
Great inspiration. 👍
Yay, another older person does it. I'm 60 and was thinking this might be crazy. Well, maybe it is. The wheel arrived yesterday, so we'll see!
Great good to hear your story. I want one of these and I'm 73 but I think it would be so good for me. Looking for the wheel deal.
@@60viking you guys are old, I'm 52 but my wife ways I'm going on 14 with these toys
Fantastic video! Amazing cycle!!!
Best learning video I've seen
Im waiting for my v8f delivery from you and it due on Friday. Ive been riding a V3 style wheel for a year but because of my old age it's going to be a learning curve again, I'm so excited. (Per Robin)
I’ve been struggling for a few days now and I didn’t think about the little hops. I recently got an EXN and I’m still learning
Probably the fastest way to learn! Thank you. When can we expect the V10Fs in the UK please?
You're gonna love it! You'll have to reach out to your seller for estimates on arrivals.
You're a great teacher!
Excellent tutorial.
Ok, so Im going to go and try. Very nice tutorial.
Best learning Tutorial !!!!
Thank you sensei. I will take your teachings to heart when i get my first unicycle tomorrow
You can do it! 🎉
I learned a lot. Thanks. I recently bought a Tesla V3.
thanks going to try tomorrow got to learn the ap too good jon
I am sooo tempted to get one of these.
I just got my Inmotion V8F and it's a lot harder than it looks.. This video is very helpful. When I copy your 1 foot on the wheel training, I noticed that your foot on the wheel is right up against the wheel but when i step my other foot on it feels like my toes are pointing inwards. Is that normal? I'm assuming that's normal when learning then eventually you space it out a little to be able to turn. Great videos.. thank you.
Just got mine - my first wheel but I owned a Segway i2 for several years. I know this is different and I’m nervous, but I was once nervous about all of my e-rideables. I told myself that when deciding to get this. I always start holding something, then the next thing ya know, i don’t need to hold anything. Same with this. Day one (indoors only) and I don’t need to hold anything to get on or off. Day 2 and I’m able to roll about a foot before hopping off. My goal is to learn it by summer and right now it’s winter, so no rush.
I just got my Glide 3 and the included Cover plus wrist guards! I bought Elbow and Knee pads, plus a Helmet. Now, the place I found to practice, will be my Apt Tennis Court, spacious fenced in (to hold on to) and well lit for no excuse times to practice! So, I will practice your Tips until I get it right! Thanks!
OMG! Same here!! The tennis court at my building isn't being used right now since it's cold out. But I found another place also that has long, shallow-carpeted, wide hallways. I plan to learn balance there and turns on the tennis court.
This is the only vid that actually helped explain thx BTW I learned in a week thanks to this vid 👍🏻
Great to hear!
told me 20 min from v3 to v8...
Honestly a Good Teacher
I am planning to get this unicycle sometime soon,, or soonish. This video will come in handy. ^^
Great tutorial! Really, covers everything
Hey thanks!
Thanks. I needed that.
thankyou, great video !
Only had my NineBot One E+ a couple of days. Best I have done is the length of my kitchen (21ft). Which I think is good. Dent in the cooker and chairs have gone flying in all directions. but having lots of fun. Most obvious learning point - don't switch it off when you are standing on it, even if you are hanging on to everything in sight and not moving. It's an instant off.
Excellent Video, I don't own a EUC but If I ever do get one I'll refer to this video.
Thanks mate for your HOW TO VIDEO I so want one asap. 👍🏾👍🏾 😎 🖖🏾
Heck yea 🤙!
Thank you so much !! ❤️
Awesome tutorial.
Well Done man, great video :)
Looks like my fav part of Mission Bay, Ski Beach!
so good, thank you very much!
Thank you for the useful lesson))
Andrey Utochkin thanks! Glad it helped.
i finally found someone who teaches how i taught all my customer student too on how to practise the way you teach similar to my way..so this is perhaps the fastest way to teach ride an EUC! Cheers mate..i m going to link your page to all my new student too learning our best ways forward!.. and btw can you ask Inmotion if they intent to UL2272 the V8F new model????
got 1 my inmotion.... so fun to go around with
Great tutorial 👍
Thank you!
When you put your second foot up, how important is it to have it in the same position as the first foot?
I thought this video was very encouraging and helpful, I might buy one of these since I have already gotten my feet wet with a hoverboard and I may be ready for a new challenge, as a 52 year old woman whose 4 kids are grown. I wish I could buy one of these at my local Target or bike shop.
OK, wow, one thing to note about the short pushing-off movements with only one leg on the wheel: you absolutely need side-padding where your shin rests against the chassis, because that thing will not support you while you lift your other leg off the ground unless you're tilting it and leaning significant weight into it through your shin. Without padding this exercise will get painful real fast and you will not get to the phase where you can make longer and longer distances with one leg in the air.
I just saw one at Dufferin mall, and the guy could kind of fold it all up together and there is a handle that comes out so that he can walk it through the mall as if it was a suitcase. Fascinating.
thanks! jus ordered my ar+
I just got my V12 and is almost set. Let's see what tomorrow brings. Thanks again for the tips.
i saw two of these today for the first time, i thought WTF is that . one wheel thing lol. i ride an E bike.
Exceptional teaching video. 👍👍🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
Best video
That was so cool and smashed the like button!!
