Iran's president Ebrahim Raisi is on a three-day visit to Pakistan, months after the two countries traded airstrikes in a sign of strained relations. Raisi received a military welcome at the prime minister's residence, after which he held talks with Shehbaz Sharif. The talks are said to have focused on trade and border security. Though current bilateral trade is around $2 billion, both leaders agreed to expand commerce and reach $10 billion in the future. While Sharif thanked Iran for "supporting Kashmir" in his remarks, Raisi did not raise the issue which is sensitive to India. How should India see this relationship? Gazans are truly treated second class citizens with no freedom to move outside gaza, and control of resources. Whereas Kashmiris are welcome throughout the country as it is their right as citizens of India.
