#3DPrinting #dune #starwars - Věda a technologie
I cant wait to get this rancor head painted & mounted! Let me know what I should print with this!
Red
ok.. now I want a small 3D printer from you uncle 😡😡😤
A huge Mario and Luigi statue
Full size Slimer from ghostbusters.
thats so awesome, make dark helmets helmet, you can probably do it all in one shot full size now!!!
Should I buy an office chair or an Elegoo printer? Nah, I'll buy the Elegoo and then I can print myself a full sized chair!!
Heck yeah! I want to print my Escape Key stool I designed… but huge 😂
ESC key why not the whole keyboard. Ha
Elegoo printer is better option. Are you open to suggestions on your social media page?
You should print a Spaceballs Lord Helmet helmet...
😂
absolutely 🤣
SPACEBALLS: The reply
Yes!!! 😂
Terrible idea worst movie
As someone who backed the Elegoo Jupiter mostly based on Jesse's hype, and ended up with what's basically a beta test unit, I plead to those of you reading this- wait until the second revision at minimum.
The good news is they should hopefully have a firmware update available soon for me to test that will hopefully resolve some of the things I’ve called out here 🤞🤞
@@UncleJessy Would love to see a follow-up if that happens.
Add my Neptune 4 Max to that as well. Total POS.
Could you please elaborate on the major issue/s you had with it.
@hotshoestudios it's Great machine neptune 4 max. Mines been running 20 hours a day since January 15th and no major issues just occasional Littles ones like bed leveling when I haven't done it in over a week and sometimes having to change to a new nozzle gone through 2 nozzles so it's not that bad.
Now you can actually go boating with the family in your benchy!
A failed print would be DEVASTATING!
Oh man, any large print is anxiety inducing. I work with BigRep printers and prints running for 5-6 weeks is not uncommon... I don't sleep much when I have those running. 😂
Print and Paint- Jaba The Hut
Nah pizza the hut
After my experience with the Neptune 4 series firmware, I don't have any desire to purchase any more of their printer products until they can demonstrate that they have better quality control and mastery over Klipper. Neptune 4 users have been depending on the efforts of a few individuals doing open source Klipper.
This thing is just waiting for an affordable pellet print head mod to hit the market.
Need to do Castle greyskull. That would be awesome.
i hope you finaly finish that magneto statue! now you have perfect printer for that
👀🤘
I'm waiting on the v2 or v3 of this printer after they worked on all the kinks, but man it does look pretty cool.
You're kidding, right? The NM4 is a piece of trash and you think they can perfect this monster.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
❤❤❤ This is the Update I have been waiting since November for, THANK YOU Uncle Jesse ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Peeps that backed it are going to have a lot of fun chewing through filament with this beast. Leveling was a bit cumbersome but man oh man am I loving being able to print just about anything on it
OMG that Dune Ornithopter on the wall with wings spread looking like it landed on the wall would look amazing!
I've started the pre planning for a 3D printed life sized Master Chief followed by a life sized Arbiter so this could be huge if they ever get it working full up ...
That Dune print is great. Being able to print our own decorations around the house and for the kids will be awesome.
I wait till they offer a max version of it in the double size😂
The Creality Kar size printer
This really should be a granulate based printhead instead of Filament. You would save a ton of money and could recycle your prints at the same time.
Wow!! That's insanely huge!
This is amazing dude. Next freakin level. And I have all Elegoo Printers, and I am extremely happy with them. 🤘🤘
That Rancor is outstanding! Crazy printing, can’t wait to see what else you try out!
That print save was amazing 🤌🏼🤌🏼
Great first impressions and overall info!
I appreciate the transparency with mentioning that this isn't a review. Love your content thank you
Time to join the droid builders! You can print most the parts in one go with that massive printer
Maybe try a USB extension cable so you can route it up top. This printer is WILD.
Ohhhh that’s not a bad idea as well!
Holy f... This is AMAZING. With a printbed that big you could make complete dirt bike plastics. or even atv/quad plastics. Making both custom ones, or just ones you cant buy anymore. AMAZING.
I'm excited for when more companies start coming out with large-format 3D printers in the commercial market and further bringing the cost down. Seems to be an ambitious step in the right direction.
Wow leveliing that "floor bed" is gonna be a nightmare! And backache is welcome too
Now they need to do this for the Jupiter 😆Great video as always Jessy! 🙌
Imagine how much time you can save being able to print larger cosplay props in one go…. That printer is wild!
I hope the Giga leads to more Klipper Core XY printers from Elegoo at a smaller size.
That would seem to be a trend in general. Ever since Bambu, more manufacturers have been making Core XY's, and it's only a matter of time before they all start integrating Klipper in some way.
@@ultra_phantomaj8300 Bambu just used what open source printers like RatRig and Voron had been doing for a while. Bambu just made it closed off and an appliance rather than a hobby in itself.
It's not core xy, you can see the x stepper moving on the y rail. My understanding is that core xy only scales to a point.
Let's just call it "non bed slinger" designs. Printers like this are easily enclosed, and their footprint isn't variable on the workbench. I like my 3 and 4 Plus printers, but so tired of dealing with adhesion issues due to bed movement and temperature variations.
@@eslmatt811 Correct. There is a motor on the X axis gantry controlling it's movement. At that size, I'm not sure belts would have worked in a typical CoreXY configuration.
This might be a use case where moving away from belts completely. Magnetic levitation linear motor system might be a great use case for these extremely large printers.
That is ridiculously huge. It's perfect for cosplay costuming and such. That monster head is awesome. It looks like a nightmare to adjust. Even just cleaning the bed plates, I'd have to worry about leveling again. It's such s cool novelty though.
Yeah the leveling was cumbersome and time consuming but man is the potential there to print some hugely awesome things. I will be having a lot of fun with this printer … until I break it 😂
can tell elegoo is using this as a testing platform for a core xy printer thats smaller and more a bambu killer esk type machine
At least there isn't a giant glass door to break
Excited for when I get my giga, looking to print molds for carbon fiber composite bodywork on my formula cars and maybe designing fixtures for work... Maybe even a life-size formula sim rig for my spare bedroom..
That thing is nuts!
That rancor is insaaaaaane
Man that would be awesome to use to print out the 3D topo maps.
this so cool! so detailed. much filament though haha and waiting time
Gotta love when people tell me about a kickstarter i can no longer back
Slightly better than knowing kickstarts that won't even ship to your country 😢
Hey Uncle Jessy, Castle Gray Skull. Lets Goooo!
is it possible to mount the rear top bar to the front? that way you can sit the touchscreen on the bar with the filament spool holders? is is there wiring that requires the rear bar to stay in the rear?
How does it account for deflection of the gantry. Do they compensate for that in firmware? Surely the centre will sage more than the edges.
Does the giga have an induction probe? If so I’ve found with my n3plus that when the bed is hot the induction probe will give you very different results everytime it probes.
In your klipper printer config you can set the probe tolerance, number of times it probes a point and number of retries the probe will probe a point if results are more than the tolerance value set, this may help a little
UncleJessy, thank you for being a creator and reviewer who prints a decent size print on the machines you’re reviewing, this thing is awesome.
I recommend buying a bunch of small weights. You can embed them in prints or just put them inside the middle of things like the ornithopter. You'd be amazed how much being able to control the center of gravity can elevate prints without having to do really in-depth engineering of the models.
Jesus. Even at this size, the filament bracket is still mounted on the back. USB port on the floor? Why do these companies do this to us? Is it on purpose?
what kind of system are you using to hang up your PLA in the background on the wall there?
That cable length is short on purpose, i can imagine this thing is drawing significantly more power than a regular printer. Increase cable length increase amperage.
As long as the size of the conductors goes up, the resistance should stay the same.
@FunctionalPrintFriday which is why its short, bigger conductors bigger cost. I guarantee the longer one he got didnt have bigger conductors
Hey brother, quick question. Is there a pause feature to swap filament when I run out?
What type of nozzles does this use and can it print more exotic filaments like carbon fiber nylon, silks, ext?
When they coming out with a 800 x 800 PEI plate? 😄
You should print the Rancor’s hands or just the tips of the hands to make it a wall hanger with the appearance of it coming out of the wall. That would be badass!
Wow…that is ridiculously HUGE! 🤣 But really cool at the same time. 👍🏽
This is so cool!!
How the first giant thing you printed on this wasn't Godzilla is beyond me. lol
Does this have Mainsail or some other web interface you can access ? Not sure if you saw the twitter thread about using cubic support or cubic adaptive to reduce infill on these large prints it will save to much time.
I wonder if the beds are moving around until heat soaked like I discovered on the N4M. That could be why the values are changing.
Would it be possible to rewire the filament run-out sensor wires to the front of the printer? From what I see, it shouldn't have an impact on the hardware to move it to the front
How would you compare this to the Neptune 4 in terms of optimization?
I mean, its cool its big but how long would it take to print something about the size of t he print area?
Could you switch to a large sheet of borosilicate glass and remove prints with good temperature release glue?
I saw the thumbnail and immediately, i said out loud, "Oh sh%t, he got it!!!" LOL CONGRATS!!!
yes yes yes, i love it!!! All i need now is a bigger desk...lol
I’ve been using one of the boxes as a standing desk 😂
@@UncleJessy lol
I understand that Klipper entered adaptive mesh bed( only on the print area) should be good for this printer and will save some time to start printing
1kg of filament on this printer looks like the 100g of filament that ender printers come with
good lord!!!! I almost backed this BUT the room it needs... lol had to walk away but WOW so neat!
Yeah, that's a real problem. I wish the structure could be easily disassembled into flat subassemblies that could be stacked along a wall, for example. Then reassembled when needed.
Im wondering, with such a long filament line between runout sensor and extruder, isn't it going to wrap around the axis and interfere with movement? maybe even touch the print, possibly catch onto something and cause fail?
Who knows how many prints failed before this one was shown
So now you have to enclose it, run a chamber heater and push some HUGE ABS parts. Like a boat.
How difficult is it to get the 4 build plates aligned? I find the 4max build plate hard enough to maneuver. I can’t imagine lining 4 up with each other.
how is the magneto project going ? I feel like this printer could to shot it
Why did you print the injection moulding sprues with the ornithopter?
Imagine the tabletop stuff you can print with this
painting this masterpiece will be very enjoy
Imagine how big a Zaku can be made with this one
@@ulforcemegamon3094 interesting question, maybe can ask uncle Jessy have a test🤣
Now for the monster enclosure!
This is so cool
Looks wild and I wish i could have got into the kicksterter pre-orders.
I have a couple critisisms:
Would love to see hookups for users to install their own shields for the front, back, top, and sides of the printer.
Would also like to see a dark mode for the touchscreen.
Use magnets to attach sides.
I hope Elegoo starts making the tablet wireless capable and then it can be the ultimate tablet to control all your Elegoo printers.
Currently prototyping a cosplay chest-piece on my Ender 3... this makes me feel some type of way just knowing THIS exists and that I could probably print an entire SUIT on that one build plate.
would it be possible to print replacement car body panels with this?
I just received my DoWell 1610-10 It is 1620 x 1020 x 1020 and it prints extremely precise. If you want BIG and precise, it is very hard to beat this printer.
Hello, great job your doing.
I would like to Know if you can help me with the parameters of this machine ( orange storm giga) for the orcaslicer.
I need some help to put this machine on the orca slicer. Is there anyway you can help me doing this configuration?
Seems like "adaptive cubic" infill would be a must on those huge prints. Looks good though.
!!!DAAAMMMMM !!! That printer its beautiful !!!!....
Can you put a volt meter to it? What wattage does it pull?
the auto mesh calibration changes is because of the pressure point abl system. This is the same as the Elegoo neptune 3 machine I have, The value is always changing even though I changed nothing.
man - that is an amazing machine. Part of me wants it, but the other part of me can't justify how big it'll be and what i'd make with it.
I see a lot of post about the Max having problems if you don't preheat your bed about 30 mins prior to leveling. Is that the same with this?
The larger the setup the more difficult it will be to regulate temps without a proper enclosure which = $$ and time. Most will probably lather the build plates with glue though..
I noticed there's marks on the pei plates. Is that glue stick marks? If so, I thought that wasn't recommended for pei plates. I thought the reason for pei plates is to eliminate the need for any added adhesive?
Good to see what you've been up to! I wonder if they could make a small upgrade kit available to move the spool to the front? I imagine they would only need a cable extender, and some zip ties. Maybe a $10 add on?
How big could it print a Benchy? How big of an outboard would the USCG let you mount to the transom?
Jeez I just wish I had a place for that - I would be happy enough 😂
I was watching a video of a review of this machine and the Elegoo VP did say they are going to make another smaller model unit in the OrangeStorm line. He didn't say how much smaller though. Sounded like they were going to make a few of these in the entire line eventually. No time line given either. I'm guessing everything is based on how well the Giga sells.
I wish I could have gotten this before I started my R2 project.
That print save was genius! 90 hours, though? That thing needs input shaping! Greenboy 3D’s direct pellet-to-print would be perfect for this to keep costs down.
that's actually a standard power cable for high amp power supplies. I think anything past 1KW uses that plug. It means the cable is thicker and can handle more power.
Correct, it is a standard plug, just not as common. Regularly used in commercial applications like my Eaton 5P 2200 UPS.
I love that printer❤
Any chance youll go back on the 4 max now that they released those nozzle sizes you requested?
As far as the spool holders being on the back, is it possible to just mount the top rail backwards? The logo might be in the back but it sounds like a worthy trade off
