- This is how much money I spend as a Computer Science and Design Student living in Munich, Germany.
My spending is not that high and getting financial support from my parents helps me out a lot.

Thank u for writing this comment
That's why when I studied in Munich, the students there were either from well-off families (my landlord was another student who lived right at Odeonsplatz because his father owns many properties there), or had to live 1+ hour away at the end of S-Bahn line and could only come to university a few days a week. I had to change apartment every 3-4 months (6 times in 2 years) because of shortage/long waiting time for student apartment.
Yeah Munich is really tough and keeps getting tougher for students... there is literally a housing crisis going on in the city...
Love you bro and your videos 💖
love you too and you comment 🫶

I just have a question does university world ranking matter in germany?, i am currently in a university in egypt that is ranked the 1000th in the world but was thinking of switching to germany because of quality of life there, i know there are some universities that are ranked high but they don't have alot of english programs.
Thanks for your help!
If you wanna stay inside of Germany, the ranking doesn't matter that much. Some consulting and investment banking firms do value prestigious universities but most Germans don't put that much emphasis on the name of the institution.
But it's always beneficial to go to a university with a good reputation and big network
I'm gonna publish a video soon about the top 5 universities in Germany, so stay tuned!
Thanks a lot for sharing
you're welcome 🫶
Love your videos!! Could you do one on how to apply to German Universities? Love from Portugal
yess coming in the near future 🫶
Hey, Max! Great video, as usually! I am really doubting about moving to UI International University of Applied Science in Berlin, beacuse it's kind of private university and I am not sure if it is really recognizable in other countries. Don't you have such kind of doubts about your university? I mean they are alike. Thanks!
Indeed, both are not well known internationally but in Germany, they are very well known. Companies love hiring from universities of applied sciences because the approach is more practical.
I don't have any doubts because in most industries it's all about your skills and not so much about the name of the institution.
International students value prestigious universities wayy more than Germans
Dud this ticket is the best! would recommend
Perks of living in Germany ;)
keep up mate 🫂

Hi I'm applying for a bachelor's in germany and rn I'm doing a course on coursera which provides a list of books for background reading, I was wondering does the university library have the books we need or are we supposed to buy all of them?
So do you live with a friend to halve the rent? Were there any problems doing this, because it could be considered as a WG and not everyone wants one in their house/appartment.
Hey Max. I love your content. I heard you mentioning working 2 jobs, are students not allowed to work 80 hours a month? What happens if you were to exceed the hours to make extra cash?
Thanks!
Glad you like the videos 🫶
One of my jobs is freelancing, so this leaves a lot of things open and I don't get charged for hours.
I think you cannot really exceed the hours if you are employed at a company, they will restrict the hours since they can see what else you're doing
I'm "working" about 30 hours a week producing CZcams videos on top, but that doesn't count into the 20 hours per week
@@maxyoko It makes sense. Thank you for the reply. Appreciated.

I actually paid 55€ for the 5l
Great editing!
I want to study physics. Can you give me your opinion please?
Why did you study physics? Why did you say it is future-proof?
Why did you stop studying it? Is it because it's hard?
Thank you.
So I made a video about why I dropped out and also about future-proof degree programs but here are my short-form answers:
I started studying it because I was really interested in all the high-level theories and loved astrophysics (read a lot of books, Steven Hawking, etc.)
Physics is future-proof because it teaches you the fundamentals of this world and also other important skills (logical thinking, problem-solving)
I stopped studying it because I realized that it was more of a hobby thing, something I saw and was really amazed at. But I was not willing to suffer for it and make a career out of it.
No doubt Physics is tough but I didn't drop out because it was too difficult. I'm sure with a lot of work, studying, and discipline could have pushed through but I wanted to do something different, something that gets me out of bed in the morning :)
Hey max, can you make a video on taxes for students in Germany
I talked about it in the video about student jobs in Germany :) czcams.com/video/nY8Tw24rc-s/video.htmlsi=KlrhjI8oP0a01Gyp
Hey, Max! With Blocked account being somewhere lets say 12000 eur how long would that last a student coming to Munich or Berlin typically?
With that amount only, I think it would last for a year. Factor in about 800-1000 Euros per month as a student
Hi, I’m looking forward to study in Germany next year. I just want to know if you’re in a public university or private? And what exams you had to give to get admission in that university? I’m also thinking if studying computer science so it would great if you would help me!!
I'm currently studying at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, which is a public university. I had to pass a design project exam for that
I have a bunch of other videos on the channel about studying in Germany!
@@maxyoko yes I’ve been watching your videos lately they are really helpful. Thank you.

Hi Max, great job on this, you really stand out. Please I am just in my first year at university of the people (online university in the us, fully approved and recognized) but I want to move to germany and complete my education there in a physical school - that will make me a transfer student for an undergraduate degree.
I am studying health science ( I can switch too) which university can I go to that is recognized and the acceptance rate too is considerable?
I am moving to germany by September, what do you suggest I do
For us who live in a country with a different system of education and exams ... can you make a video explaining all of that for those who's gonna move next year to germany
What exactly should I explain? :)
@@maxyoko the educational system in general and (if you could) how exams in master programs works

how i can find a family to live with them instead of finding a house for myself as an international student? could you help me with that, please. thank you a lot for shearing this.
Hello Brother.
I am Indian living and studying in Russia but due to war and sanctions, its very difficult to live here. I want to start with learning German in Germany then continue my bachelor's degree. Please tell which university is the cheapest one for preparatory course for beginners. It does not matter for me that the university is in rural or urban area.
How much do international students usually earn per month?
Can you make a video about how to get part time job in germany as someone who only know eng??
Hmm need to do some research on that but it‘s coming! The next two videos are gonna be about part time jobs in Germany tho 🫶
What about city like Dusseldorf or Essen ? Is it costly like munich ?
Not as expensive as Munich :)
Can you work as a heavy machinery operator in Europe
Im coming to Munich as student, the only thing that drive me crazy is rent cost, I'm worry that couldn't save money to buy electronics stuff or go small trip 😢
This is definitely a valid concern, studying in Munich is not easy... :(
In Munich, the issue is not only the high rent, but even if you are willing to pay high price, you might have to fight with hundreds of people (including those who already have a job/stable income) for an apartment. Maybe corona has changed things a bit.
The up side is, being in a big city, you have more chance to find a student job, also in big firms, to cover some expenditure.
Munich is close to many beautiful alpine retreat, but during my student time, I hardly ventured outside the city due to the constant stress to find new apartment, and to juggle student job on top of my studies. On hindsight, maybe a smaller "student town" might provide a better student life/memory.
Hey, there's something I'd like to know. You're a student at an applied science University right?
Are you aware if there are any restrictions or preconditions for any applied science graduate who wants to pursue a masters?
For example for anyone graduating from a Finnish UAS, they need 2 years of work experience prior to becoming eligible to pursue a masters degree over there. Is there any such rule in Germany?
Not that I know. You can even study master's degrees at a University of Applied Sciences and some even allow you to do a Ph.D.
@@maxyoko thanks mate
Hey, how much does the regional card cost? and is there another version of it that allows u to travel internationally? if yes then how much does it cost?
For students in Bavaria the ticket is 29€, for adults in Germany it's 49€. When it comes to Europe I think there is something called Euro Pass or smth like that but I have never used it
@@maxyoko for europawide its Interrail/Eurail
@@maxyoko
European residents: Interrail Passes
Non-European residents: Eurail Passes
Global Pass Youth (up to 27 years) 15 days in 2 months EUR 415
Global Pass Youth (up to 27 years) 1 month in a row EUR 522
Global Pass covers 33 European Countries. An Interail Global Pass however only one trip to and one back inside your country of residence.
If you have a D-Ticket (EUR 29/49) you can travel on this also to some places across the border from Germany. E.g. to Salzburg Hbf and Kufstein in Austria. Or to Schaffhausen and Basel Bad Bf in Switzerland. Also to anywhere in Luxembourg (as public transport is free there). D-Ticket covers however only regional trains, not long-distance trains.
There are also various national offers.
Most rail pass friendly are Switzerland, Austria and Germany. In most other countries you often have to pay when using fast trains additionally for the compulsory seat reservation and/or a surcharge for those trains.
Long-distance buses and budget flights are also an option for short trips. Esp. for students on a budget.

do you get apple discount and other sort of discount with your student id?
yes absolutely
❤❤❤
❤️❤️
Life hack: If the fine fee is 60e and the regular ticket price let's say for the ICE train is 85e than just go to the train and pay the fine fee. It's cheaper.
Hahah but if you get caught three times they will sue you and that's not funny
And you have to leave the train at the next station when getting caught. Counter intuitive when you want to reliably get somewhere.
The exact rule for the fine is: twice of the standard fare but at least 60 Euro.
On long-distance trains your tickets are normally always checked.
And as already noted - if you're caught too often you can get into serious trouble. Far dodging is still a crime in Germany - not just a public offence like a parking ticket.
Rent in München is an entire months salary in romania bro what
is health insurance included ??
Family health insurance package :)
Public health insurance for students in Germany costs so 120-130 Euro per month.
How do you finance your monthly expenses?

Why do you have to still buy bus tickets? Don’t you have semester tickets from your university?
If you have a semester ticket, you don't have to buy bus tickets
@@maxyoko Yes, that’s the point. In the video you included bus tickets in your monthly expenditure
@@dekev7503 You mean the Deutschlandticket? In Bavaria, the discounted version of the Deutschlandticket counts as the full functioning semester ticket
@@maxyoko No, I mean semester ticket, you literally pay for it as part of your semester fee and your school mails it to you. It’s valid for the entire semester.
@@dekev7503 In Munich you can only use public transport from something like 8pm to 6am with the standard semester ticket. For full access, you need to pay for the discounted Deutschlandticket
Health insurance?
It‘s included in my family‘s package :)
