    It’s a very beautiful bowl. I don’t know what it is, but this reminds me of ancient Rome, -bowls with silver trimmings. Very regal. 😊👍🏻 Also, I remember when I was very young, my father used to melt lead for soldering components in his auto shop. Memories. 😊 Pewter does look like lead; and silver. Thanks, Jim, for sharing your talent with us. ⭐️👍🏻🤗💕🇺🇸

    Hi Jim.. Loved the Pewter poor around the rim of the bowl. I couldn't help think what it would look like if you added some copper chips to the pewter befor it crowned and then finished the poor of pewter so it crowned and then when you finished turning the rim you would see thr copper shinning or sprkeling through the pewter. If your wondering about me I'm a retired Artist who loves to do wood working but never had the time while I was making a living now I'm old and disabled but still love to watch your video's, Keep up the great work, I love watching from start to finish.

    • @SpragueWoodturning
      @SpragueWoodturning  Před 2 lety

      I tried something similar to this but with twisted copper wire and it was a failure, there’s a video here on my channel about it. The copper chips would probably be easier as you could heat them up put them in the rim and pour over top of them. It’s a great idea and will possibly give it a try in the future, thanks!

    Thank you for sharing your video Jim I enjoyed it very much. Pouring the pewter directly into the dovetailed groove didn't cause much burning or discoloration of the wood which was a big eye opener for me as i have in the past made a separate mold then glued the pewter into the main piece afterwards, This method saves heaps of time. Thank you again for your very down to earth and professional demonstration that i think is just right for all woodturners to learn from.
    Kind Regards
