As a Belgian, I'm pissed and looking forward to tailgate you on your next road trip here. (Or show you around and change your mind about your misplaced preconceptions.)
Really want the whole podcast on CZcams please 👍
The guy with the hand controls is Adrian Jektvik. I've known him for years. He was on Misha's channel as well. Great guy. It's a Donkervoort that he has. You should connect with him at some point! He's in Norway.
Took my kids to the Ring four weeks ago. We stayed at Apex, ate at Pistenklause, took a ride with GetSpeed Racetaxi and visited the Ring Werk.
Just did the Nurburgring and Stelvio pass in the same trip.. Glad I did both!
1:16 Alex seems to have forgotten about motorcycles entirely. Stelvio on a bike is epic, blasting past all those cars stuck in second between hairpins. Go in September.
The chemistery between Alex and Taylor is so great. Can't wait to get more of this laid back podcast with you 2
for me its a 2 and a half hour drive so maybe not really a roadtrip but the ring is defiinitely the best place ive ever visited and im trying to go there atleast once every month now
Been to the Nurburgring 3 times. It really is amazing. The drive there with the autobahn, roads, & mountains. Everything. The 3rd time I went I went through Apex for car rental. I found it to be really the best place as I had become acquainted with it via CZcams with Misha (and for awhile Robert). Unlike the other rental places, you don't just go there to pick up the car and drop it off. It's the whole experience/atmosphere that makes it the best IMO. Shmee wasn't there but his Senna was parked up in the garage which was cool to see up close and personal. Other people who have been on Misha's channel before (like Alistar with his green Senna) was there with one of his other car - and just people all around in general. I remember after I did my laps with their 2 series, I literally hung around for a couple of hours in the parking lot just soaking it all in.
You wanna pay for me to go accross the Atlantic? But fr. I want to go so badly. I need to get out of the country. I've never been outside the US before
It's amazing watching this and the main channel grow. You've come so far in such a short space of time. The chemistry between you all is so organic I can vouch that of camera you and Rory are the same people. You only acted like a diva once because you don't like people watching you film an intro haha. I wish I'd got the chance to meet Taylor he cracks me up. He turned up with Barney as I was leaving but I bottled it saying hello he had some guy with him who was like 6 foot 17.
I understand why you do these clips from the podcast, but I would much prefer the whole podcast being one big video. Now it’s a notification for a new auto Alex video which is a clip we have already listened to on the podcast. Behind the glass style, do a one long podcast video pls!!!
I drove my Mini Cooper S from Brisbane to Melbourne and back via the Newell Hwy and various Australian country roads about 10 years ago. Best drive I've ever done. However my back is still recovering.
Notification squad Have a nice weekend!🔥🔥🔥
I do agree on the Stelvio part. On the “otherside” of the mountain is the Ofenpass. That’s a great driving road. It is in Switzerland, so keep an eye out for the police.
Can I make an observation you said you won't put the podcast on CZcams. But yet you have put the four main talking points of the podcast on CZcams surely you might as well just put the whole thing on or just put a snippet on here to encourage people to listen to the full podcast. Like I say just an observation. Loving the work.
Please upload full podcasts on CZcams
I just drove the Ring for the 10th time, but finally stayed the night at apex. It was great.
I'm in the shed, working on my Dad's (RIP) crusty old Volvo 850 automatic estate - 230+k miles, 2.5L, 20v 5 cylinder petrol shitbox (been in the family for 20 years - its now mine). I plan to do a few laps of the tracks my Dad marshalled at - Brands Hatch, Donnington and Silverstone. If it lives passed that, then the North Coast run and Lands end to John o'Groats. If it survives those tasks, it should be passed 250k miles, at which point - the Nurburgring would have to be done. I hate axle stands /o\ so jelly when I see lifts/ramps/etc.
I highly recommend going on Old Military Road in the Cairngorms, Scotland, top driving experience!
Notification of an Autoalex video... I'll stop what I'm doing for 20 minutes then. Quality 👍🏻
1:01 the south tyrolian side is what he is describing. The bormio side is actually wider and more fun.
Agree 100% about Stelvio Pass - it's annoying and boring at the same time. Luckily there's tons of great driving roads in Alps. Grimsel Pass being one if my favourites.
The best trio on CZcams by far.
Hearing Alex complain will never fail to make me laugh 😂
Loving these podcasts! Keep up the amazing videos, they always make me smile and laugh 😂❤
One thing to mention is, the stuff around it isnt expensive either. Be that the Gift shop for cool merchandise, or the food places all around, even the Gas station has one of the lowest prices in the Country. Cheap AirBnB's around too
That's good to know. I think most people's expectation, like mine, would be the opposite.
@@DiscoFang that was my expectation before going there too. Even the Indoor karts are fairly priced! I love that detail
You should do an episode going to watch WRC for the weekend and build cheap rally inspired cars to go in!
My best mate and I are headed to the nurburgring end of September as the first stop of a 3000+ mile roadtrip around Germany and Sweden in my Saab 9000 turbo that I tried to sell you for £650 a little over 2 years ago when you were still at car throttle. Jack politely declined and tbf it was rusty, had no Mot and was in Cornwall. Rust has since been sorted and by the time we leave will have 317bhp, new suspension, bushes and brakes.
me and few friends are going to the nurburgring next year in may all because of your videos and we want to experiance it for ourselves
10:37 so.... Next year take a road trip to see the 24h race. 😊 (And take the cameras, of course)
Can absolutely confirm that the popular part of the Stelvio pass is pretty terrible to drive and usually severely overcrowded. However, the part leading from the top to Bormio is fantastic and definitely recommended. Combine with other nearby passes for a wonderful trip.
Even on a bike, it's overrated. GORGEOUS, for sure, but crowed. Gavia pass all the way (for cycling).
Fair call, I went to the Stelvio this year on my 'bike. Traffic/cyclists were a frikkn' nightmare! Took away all the joy of riding there.
I love this channel. And the auto alex one. And every video of yoi guy. Thanks for the content. Have a good one from 🇫🇷
If you're on the Liège - Aachen motorway, give the Autobahn a miss at Eupen, or the first exit in Germany, then take the B258 past Monschau, Schleiden, Blankenheim and enjoy the very good German Landstrassen. I've been stuck on the Autobahn too often in a traffic jam caused by roadworks that I haven't taken the Autobahn to the Nürburgring in many years.
The 258😍😍😍😍
Cheers chaps. I had a great time showing at shedfest and I'm currently looking at buying a business in the High Eifel near the ring to run as my retirement business. Everything you said and more are the reasons I'm emigrating there to retirement and enjoy my life.
Halfway up snowdon watching this vid 😅
I’ve just come back from a holiday in France, I’m now thinking about getting my mates/brothers to get the shitboxes together and working for an epic road trip
Germany is epic iv not drove there before but iv been a lot of times mainly for the beer
I've visited the Nurburgring a couple of times and want to go back again, the first time I went was in my Volkswagen Polo 1.2 and it was fantastic just hammering the poor little thing around (it did not thank me at all).
I visited again in 2022 as I was passing by but didn't drive round that time because I was in my E36, which has been in the family for 30years I didn't want to run the risk it, despite not driving round it was great just take in the atmosphere around the ringwerk and at Brunchen watching the touristfahrten
Another great video. But what's with all the hate on Belgium 😂? Yes trafic sucks, yes some (alot) drivers are aweful. But it's a beautifull country for sure. And for driving. Go to the Ardennes! N85 southbound starting from neaufchateau is pretty cool tbh.
Please do your own endurance race at the Nürburgring! 24 hours of shitbox.
I’m going to the ring in my heavily modified (currently building) mx5 nc sport next year and I can’t wait
Please just upload the full podcast to CZcams. You said it takes too long but surely chopping bits up and uploading them individually is more time-consuming? Unless this way increases view count so makes it worth it to do it like this?
I watched the first 2 videos, then listened to the podcast and then realised the next videos uploaded are from the same podcast 🤣
Either way, keep up the amazing work lads, i look forward to every upload 👍
Horses for courses lads , we all have different agendas .
Love a fast bike on a track but equally at home in something a little slower with 4 wheels taking on a challenging mountain pass and enjoying a different skill level.
Great vlogs....love 'em 👍
You guys are so lucky to be within driving distance. It's a bit hard to drive from Australia... I've been to Europe twice, and I've been to the ring twice. First time in a 50 Euro UK reg 2.0 Vauxhall Cavalier that I managed to score in Madrid (was 2006). Slow, but also awesome cos I didn't give a crap whether I binned it or not (I didn't know about the repair charges til later), and 2nd time I rented an E46 M3 that was RHD. I got lucky that time too cos I hadn't noticed the excess on the rental insurance was 20k. So basically, it wasn't insured and it was expected that the person who binned it bought the car... I should've taken the rental Diesel 3 series I had instead, I've very specifically read that insurance policy before I left.
Would be good to have some additional tips (the accomodation ideas in this one were great) and pitfalls for those who want to go.
You Aussie's have Mount Panorama though!! 👌
@@scotty6346 Except you can't use it like the Ring. It's a 2 way public road with a 60km/h speed limit (which the local police enjoy enforcing). Unless you have a racing license, you can't enjoy it fully. Also, way shorter
Cheers for the podcast guys. I'm hoping to go to the ring next year for my 40th. I'm just trying to work out what car to buy to take on the ring.
I did the Stelvio by accident on my European road trip. I agree, it wasn’t anything amazing. The the surface was shit.
If you want an amazing driving road go to the Großglockner
Rory suits this spot 👍
Found out about this first on your story, now I am looking forward to watching this. All three of you are entertaining even Rory believe it or not! ;) haha
Love the Nurburgring. Jammed it into our last European holiday. Including a visit to Apex! 👍👍👍🇦🇺
These need to be longer
My mate went to Italy where a friend of his wife said they could borrow her car. He lasted about 2 days before handing it back.
His description of driving there was - " you have a mile long straight and a 500 Abarth nailed to the back bumper. The straight ends with a humpbacked bridge and a 90 degree curve afterwards - both signposted - you get about 100yds from the bridge and the Abarth beeps a warning then pulls out to overtake you and get back in front of you all BEFORE the bridge" - his nerves were frayed in just 48hrs lol
I hate podcasts. But I love you guys. And somehow you guys have nailed it. I would listen to you sat on a park bench in midwinter without shoes. And I agree with Alex about Stelvio.
I have to agree with Alex ...having lived in Germany....the food and roads are amazing....but serious go looking for a bargain car in Germany in the.back roads... There are some cars hidden ...
Im planning on bringing my mini cooper s r53 fron ireland to the nurburgring next year, im just back from 1320mini uk getting a serious amount of maintiance and performance work sorted to hopefully be realible for the nurburgring early next year
Me and my dad and my son are going in may can't wait
What about the Transfagarasan in Romania? Even Jeremy Clarkson said is the best driving road in the world. I've beed there and absolutely loved it.
Would love that someday 😊😊😊😊😊
I agree about stelvio. If you cannot close it to have fun like in top gear, then it is meh. It gets better at night, but then, what's the point.
How do you handle insurance on the ring? That puts me off
The Stelvio IS a CYCLING climb that's why xD
Will 💯 do that!!!
The flake kicked in by this point 😂😂
Alex take them through the black forest.... And proper food....
100% agree with the Stelvio. It is a great road to cycle up, but it is just stop turn go, stop turn go in the car. It's all effort with no real reward.
Yous could be the next trio after grandtour
Lack of insurance is the elephant in the room regards the Nurburgring Especially if your taking a really nice motor.
Rn autoalex best yt channel
You have twisted my arm... Now I have to get/build a car and head there!! oh, and get a license but I can do that later once I've built the car..
You 3 should come down and do Bathurst 1000 or Bathurst 24h.
Would love it if you guys did a how to video for the ring, like what insurance you need to drive in Europe, what visas you need, things to do, things to avoid. Really want to make the trip but the legalities confuses me.
I mean if from the UK then you don’t need a visa for Europe. Just check when the ring is open to the public and plan a trip around it. Insurance wise you should already be covered but best to give your insurer a ring to let them know the dates you’ll be abroad.
Agree on the N24. Best 4 wheel Motorsport event going.
I do wish you lads would explain to your viewers about the insurance situation at the 'ring for UK drivers.. as in... we don't have any, and all costs caused will be recovered from you, personally.
you need to do the Transfagarasan Highway in Romania
Who remembers the clk with the fan on a light switch.
Alex you must do Stelvio pass in the motorcycle not in a car. 😊
I love Belgium 😵💫
Stupid question time - When you have bought your tiresteet tyres where do you get them put on your car? I always assumed high street or even independent garages would want to sell the parts and the labour, not just the labour?
I've been to the ring once but it was back in 2011, before CZcams was such a big thing. Are the people like misha really so willing and helpful even for a regular guy? I would love to go back and have a real itch for a mx5. I've sat in a ND model and i don't fit and my left leg gets stuck against the steering wheel when putting the handbrake down. I'm 6,1" Is the NC better for space?
Taylor!
Did the ring in 2010 in mk4 escort cabriolets £300 mine cist and completed the trip
Great laugh for 20 euros
The tail of the dragon decimates Stelvio pass…
That does sound awesome even the Nurburgring 24h.. imagine the trio surviving that while running around in the forest. I'd love to watch that. Just lol though. I love cars and played racing games all my life from the very first Test Drive and Need for Speed, Sega Rally Championship up to now the new ones.., I'm even making my own racing game yet I don't even have a drivers license. I wonder if there are a lot of people like me watching all of this stuff yet they dont even have a drivers license and are pushing 30.
Iv just got myself a shed to take, v8… manual!!
It started out cheap then I started buying parts, don’t tell the wife… it’s all because if watched your ring content and now I need to go
Dare you to buy cars sight unseen in Pensacola, FL and drive them to Key West, FL, but only take state and county roads, not Interstate-system roads. Should find a lot of cool little towns, cold-water springs, maybe a UFO, and all sorts of fun stuff. BTW, very funny today.
No doubt, the Nürburgring has a special place in the hearts of hobbyist drivers. But for those who are dead-set on setting the ultimate lap times, it can feel like a bit of an endurance test, given its sheer length.
If you're in the camp of racers who want a more focused and efficient experience, Europe boasts a range of top-notch tracks that are renowned for their quality. These circuits are notably shorter, allowing you to squeeze in more laps and really zero in on improving your lap times. In essence, they provide a more conducive environment for serious racers aiming to fine-tune their skills and chase those quicker laps.
where can i watch the whole podcast video?
Next episode for v2 channel; Taylor blindfolded and has various objects placed in his hands to identify them within 10 seconds like the 300zx! It's his hidden talent! 😂
When I've been stuck in traffic, and everyone splits to open a middle lane I think that driver must feel like a modern day moses
Alexxxx I keep commenting i would love to know who the oval racing roof fin belongs toooo
Im considering setting up a business to help people whove never been to get the best experience, not the gt3 types but the ones who would love to go and juat experience it. Done 24hr done racing, tf, never have a bad time even when things go wrong
Pop into club FKK Paradise as well 🎉
The Stelvio Pass is clearly for drifting in a Japanese car
I have a feeling that the Mini-Story is gonna be the new Golf-Story.
Hi alex I can confirm the German drivers are the best and the Belgium drivers are just dangerous. I have never been to a place were they can't stick to the 120 kph limit but will tailgate within an inch of your bumper .my wife call them mad Belgium bus wankers 🤪 every year with out fail we go to the nurburgring we even went there for our honeymoon. We are going back next Saturday for a week .can't beat a German road trip 👍
Strangely enough , as a Belgian doing 50000 km plus a year , all i see these days is English shitbox wankers in the left lane doing 110km/h without moving over ..
Stelvio is garbage. We were doing staples to naples in a £130 1.8 knackered laguna and the back brakes caught fire half way down and we literally had to p155 on them to put it out.
Traboggoning. Toboggan in a trabant Taylor
I have one of the 79 Seat Toledo V5's in the UK....what would you price it at? 11mth MOT, 182K...Not much rust, bit of bubbling, brand new back box...LOTS of weird electrical character...🥰....what are your thoughts?...(oh yeah 2 owners, SOCA and me...52 plate)
£5
When are you releasing your next podcast lads??
Stelvio - totally agree....Route Napoleon waaaaay better.
Nurb would be nice in a pink Limo ... :D JUST SAYIN'
