Panning through that living room in the beginning I can almost smell that 1987 air and the house and just wish I could breathe it all in
that's right u are but you would be in early 50s now like me. I was always into the metal scene and still am. My sons tell me their jealous too lol 🤘
Is there any more of these videos this was so cool to watch and nostalgic
@@alexisgordon2759 I'm so jealous. I'm 35 and can't deal with the world.
I’m a teenager now, and I’m honestly jealous of people that got to live in the 80’s and 90’s. It just seems like an awesome time to live
same, it seemed way simpler back then :(
Hell yes, it was.
I can only speak for me ... It was beyond belief fun and cool! A very exciting time. Shockingly, just about what it was like in most of the movies about the time.
it’s true it was and that’s a wise observation on your part. there was just something magical about NOT being connected to everyone, everywhere, at every second. the internet basically messed it all up is what i’m saying lol
It was awesome. I was born in 83 so I wasn't very old here but I remember the simple nature of it all. I remember just legit "looking" for something to do. Just seeing where the day took me. I also experienced the tech/information boom of the late 90s-2000s. It was exciting how fast things were changing and how easy it was becoming to connect with people from anywhere. As a parent now, I think its scary.
"Your dad here?"
Definitely a stand in for "Can we smoke?"
BUSTED! 🤣
So true
I knew guys who lived in a house like this. After high school it was an amazing party house. 5 years later all the kids were H addicts. Bummer man
lmao oh! ok
@@dogchaser520 it was meth and coke where I lived. Many 80s heads acted like shit wasn't addictive. I did plenty of coke and meth, but always knew to ween off of it, and not let it get/stay in my head (being poor helped also) really, because the wealthier heads are mostly dead now, or just really geeked out.
For anyone who grew up during this time you are so lucky. I’ll never know what it’s like to live in a world without social media and constant online “connection”. It’s such a tragedy.
all you gotta do is GIVE IT UP. Get outdoors and STROLL
I was born that year and can still remember the lingering essence of the 80's during the early 90's. It was quite a time. Beastmaster was always playing on HBO. Still it's better now. We're closer to the return of Jesus Christ.
it's only a persuasive choice.
@@garyoz1821 I'm not crying. You're crying.
boomers and gen x made the technology boom, so I guess we gotta blame them
I was 17 when this was recorded. This basically shows how me and my friends daily life was. Fun times in the 80's.
Me too
that's awesome I'm so jealous :3
Same here but another country ;P
Mischievous Teenage Metalheads sounds like a kick-ass Saturday morning cartoon.
I few hours later I changed it to "obnoxious teenage metalheads" because I feel like it's a little more fitting 😂

Damn it’s great to see fellow metal heads from the 80s. What a time it was for us. The popular kids in school thought we were crazy or low life’s. In my eyes we experienced life to the fullest.
...absofuckinglutely!!! Cru4Lyf (it's my vanity plate)
Haha most other kids thought us metal heads were evil, mean or crazy. 😝😝
you did.

To the Teens of Today..
I was born in 1961. I graduated Highschool in The Class of '79. I will say this, I am so BLESSED to have the memories of these times. My house was the house ALL the neighborhood kids flocked to. I grew up in Yonkers NY. We had EVERYTHING, mini bikes, go carts, swimming pool in the summer, ice skating in the winter. I'd do anything to travel BACK in time. I honestly love talking about my childhood days and think about it all the time. In the Summer, we had a canopy over our patio with outdoor furniture and in the winter, everyone came to our basement where we had a regulation pool table my brother and I got as a Christmas gift one year. The keg parties was all year round. I could go on forever. I feel bad for the youth today. The world has changed in a bad way, a lot of violence and of course we now have COVID-19 and friggin MASKS!!! My suggestion to all of you... STAY SAFE and get a good education! Always Seek the Highest and stay AWAY FROM DRUGS!! Stay Focused and keep on Track!! And... Maybe re-create those days in maybe a school dance and make YOUR OWN MEMORIES. Just a thought. Please take care of yourselves. 🤘
yes, & the "good education" is not necessarily going to come from a university, but from getting out into life & taking risks & making deals & learning life on your own. Thanks for sharing, Forever Metal
You should play 1979 from the Smashing pumpkins and drive at night in your old town. The feels you'll get brah.
me to living in alabama dirt bikes go carts two stroke
We live the same life brother. Our house was the go to house. Basement was set up like a living room for our friends.
I want my country back.
How can you say you miss the eighties and then tell people to stay away from drugs? Your 80's card is REVOKED!!!
I was born in the 80’s so watching stuff like this is so nostalgic for me. I love seeing the clothes, hair, home decor etc. because it’s like glimpsing my childhood.
I turned 20 the year this video was made . . The video is great . . And I remember these days very well and I love it . . . Life was so different and better back then . . . Back then we had friends the we could actually hang out with . . Nowadays everybody wants friends on social media that live in some other country or across the country . . . Back then we had to think for ourselves and didn't have to ask Google for answers . . . And none of us back then were not worried about being a damn CZcams or social media star . . . Hahaha 😂 . . . Hell we didn't have or know anything about Internet or social media . . . I would go back in a heartbeat and stay . . . You younger people can have my share of this new millennium sh-t . . . I hate it . . . But yeah you were born during one of the greatest decades and I was there to know this . . . You may not be old enough to really remember the 80's . . But if you were born during the 80's . . . Then you can at least say you were apart of the 80's even if you were to young to remember any of it . . I was born in 1967 and my childhood was the 1970's . . . another great decade . . . I feel blessed being born in the 60's because I did get to live through some great times that I'll never forget .
I do like the way they wore their hair, longer and fuller, in those days. Better than these hideous shaved heads, buzz cuts, stupid goatee beards and tatoos that people have nowadays.
Same. I was born in 82. Life was so much better back then.
remember the sears wish book? i miss those
For anyone who lived thru the 80s, this sort of junk is fantastic to watch.

.. To kill the first born Pharaoh sooooon..
Especially when you think, at the time (1987) Ride The Lightning was just 3 years old. Daaaamn!
I’m in my 50’s and I can say that I remember moments like this back in the 80’s. I often wonder if teens today get to experience these long lasting hangouts with friends like we did back then. See, we didn’t have all of the tech then to supplement all of our “boredom times “ so we maximized the size of our hangouts to the fullest. I think another side effect of living in a world so void of social media was the drive to nourish and sustain as many friendships as we could back then. I think that tech has done fantastic things for us, but I tell ya…. I’d go back to the 80’s in heart beat.. and then
I’d invest in Microsoft.. Apple, Walmart, Intel, Amazon…. Make billions… then prolly lose it all trying to invest in the flux capacitor tech.

Unfortunately our generation was the last all downhill after this

Wouldn't it rock though? Even back then being rich was awesome. I would have alot of fun.
if you were a teenager or grew up in the mid 2000s you'd want to kill yourself or you'd get addicted to opiates. having friends and dating is only for attractive people from upper middle class families.
@Hansy no my friend case in point God bless
Born in 1992, my childhood years were between 1997-2004, I'm proud to say we were the last full generation without cell phones & social media. We had a neighborhood crew of 7-8 boys. My friends house was the hang out spot. The front yard was littered with bikes. We used to play street hockey, basketball, bike, skateboard, & hide-N-seek. At night, we were finally allowed in the house. We would crowd the living room, make popcorn, & watch a movie. We used to have sleepovers too. Alot of begging my parents over the land line took place lol. Sleepovers would consist of night swimming, movies, and 2am Mortal Kombat or 007 Golden Eye on the N64. Times like these definitely helped me build social skills for the future. Today's kids have no idea. 😎
I love being a 90s baby bro
Good for you to remember those times in a good light. And thanks for sharing the memories.
Born in 92 and my experience was really similar. Ding dong ditch, snow ball fights, 007 goldeneye, rampage and endless matches of halo splitscreen. One of the kids parents let him have GTA 3 and vice city and it was this crazy forbidden thing that he'd bring over and we'd play all night after the parents went to bed. We wrote down all the cheat codes from AOL and would have contests of who could go on the longest rampage with no health cheat.
Being born in 92, can confirm everything you said is true. The zoomers have no idea how shitty they have it
@@harryvickers1945 Early zoomer here. Growing up in the midst of the smartphone takeover was disheartening and terrifying.

How amazing to see metal vloggers vlogging in the 80's before vlogging was a thing! So rad
Turns out vlogging is just a word that we made, if people were filming house videos since like the 50s then vlogging has been around longer than we thought
This tells you that people were keen on vlogging, just with home camera.
That was cool to watch. Not many people had video cameras back then bc they were pretty expensive. Your lucky to have these memories recorded.
They cost a fortune. They weighed a ton with those old nicad batteries too!
@@claytonbouldin9381 I had one where you literally had to wear a VCR with a tape in it like a courier bag over your shoulder, and the camera part was still huge despite that.
@@Connection-Lost I remember seeing those. My Sister was in a tap/ballet dancing school and the parents of one of the students had that set up with a tripod. It blew my mind!

Those guys would have definitely been my buddies if I had lived in their neighborhood back then. They are literally clones of me and my friends! 😂
Is it ever kind of painful to watch these videos for you? It's kind of bittersweet when I think of being young. I miss those days so much and I am happy those times happened, but so sad that they are over. There's nothing like being a teenager.

A month or two ago I was watching a throw back type video to the 80’s and just sat there and bawled my eyes out because I just missed the simplicity of that time and thinking about how messed up the world is today, especially for teens. I would NEVER wanna be a teenager in this day and age!
Blow dryin' my hair to get that perfect metal fluff. Chicks loved it. The red bandana tied just above the knee. Standing around the concert parking lot with friends before the show with the car stereo blaring the music of that night's performance. Everyone laughing and anticipating a great night of music. Great memories, amazing times.
I was a teenage girl back then and was always on the lookout for cute longhaired guys LOL There were plenty of them around on TV, in magazines and in real life so we had it pretty good! 😁
Thanks, Uncle Rico.

The fact that this dude had the foresight to take video of seemingly uninteresting content for us to watch in the future is just crazy. This was way more interesting to look back on than they probably ever could have imagined. The comments like "I want everyone to hear what it sounds like" when he was on the phone, was just awesome. Little did he know, "everyone" was going to be thousands of people 45+ years in the future. I wasnt alive for the 80's but it reminds me of the 90's, except the cool cars were still on the road. This strikes me as peak generation x. The good times older folks talk about. As a millennial metalhead (born '87), I would have liked to have been along for the ride. The country seemed like a better, freer, more functional place back then. People actually did stuff together and interacted with the real world. These kids would have never considered how depressing and profoundly isolating the world would be just 35 years later.

These are great videos, thank you for uploading them. It's nice to see how important social interaction was at that time.
I wasn't alive at that time, but unfortunately, since the Internet became widespread, people have become more and more distant from each other.
Because of the Internet, we live half of our lives behind a screen, and unfortunately this cannot be ruled out anymore because it has become part of our lives.
Unfortunately, this is the 21st century, the age of loneliness, nowadays it is not only difficult to make and keep friends, but also relationships. There are a lot of depressed and lonely people, somehow the value system of society has also been overturned.

Born in 1970 I knew these beautiful years. Rock music and long hair, we listened to Maiden, Priest, Dio, Scorpions popular musical groups of the time. We went as a group to rent movies on VHS tape at the video store which we watched together until the wee hours of the morning. We were very often outside with friends and sometimes up to 20 and we strolled in the parks talking and listening to music on a radio cassette. A wonderful time without those cell phones and social networks that are rotting people's brains today. Today there are hardly any people outside, people hardly see each other anymore, they are all on their cell phones or their tablets. I would so love to go back to that time it was so wonderful, I would never change my youth with today's and these images bring back so many good memories.
Quite literally my life in 87. I was 15. I lived in Oklahoma, long hair, concerts, garage bands. Greatest times.
Sounds like my dad. Man I don’t even want to live in this world the way it is now 😔
@@WhoTFVotedBiden amen
Were you Beevis or Butthead?
@@grl9917 both actually lol

Netflix should approach you to make a series out of these content. Modern kids experiencing 80s vibe. Title : Party That Never Ends.
Yaaasss i wish I could see this kind of stuff
They did its called stranger things
I love this. I wasn't born in the '80s, but I've always wished I could go back in time just to experience it
Lol..I was 17 when they made this. Best time of my life no question!! Today's World is depressing and sucks.
I was an 80s child being born in 81.' There's not really a whole lot that I remember aside from seeing the decade through the eyes of a child. I remember watching Mtv and the space man hopping up and down or what not. I remember the show "You can't do that on Television," very well, as well as He-Man and Gem and the Holograms. Back then guys were big on long hair and bushy mustaches. Woman often wore their hair curly and greasy. Big earrings. Bunched up socks. Shorts worn above knee. I remember often playing with my friends. Riding my bike all over gods creation. I remember a real estate official driving down my street and snapping photos of the property there with me in it as I was riding my bicycle. I remember Lazer Tag and watching slasher films at slumber parties.
Much from that, there isn't much else. Just me being a kid, I guess. I really miss my parents. The future really sucks compared to how I had it in the past. 😔
It truly terrifies me whenever I realize how 41 years just passed me by in the blink of an eye and how I'm already halfway through my life. Just mind boggling. The 80s are a dream of a dream to me now. Like it never really existed. I get technically it doesn't now.
All well. Nothing good lasts forever.
@@brentj.peterson6070 You're Goddamn right it is. Back then we didn't have to worry about climate change or pandemics. Not having to worry about getting shot-up at the mall or when you go to class. Life was simpler then. More wholesome. Back when men were men and women were women; not this fifty gender bullshit and multiple sexualities that these woke fiends invented. Back then, life was real.
How happy everyone was just to have a shed with some instruments. You were either in the band or standing nearby in a wool skin jean jacket with a cigarette (an equally important role). I love these guys.
13:06 Just absentmindedly saying, “So let it be written,” from Creeping Death is the greatest.
I was 15 in 1987, into heavy metal, drain pipe jeans and studs, I had a bad teenage attitude which I loved, I didn’t give a fxxk back then. I loved def leopard, Guns n Roses is my favourite band except the last album they did, love your videos, it really takes me back. Thanks guys. 🇬🇧🇬🇧✌️🤟🏼
I think most of us metal guys had bad attitudes and rebellious personalities .. it was part of the deal and the girls really liked it 😂😂
What were black ppl like in those times?
That’s me now except I dont know about the attitude lol.. only sometimes 😛. Coma was the first GnR song I listened to on my own & have been hooked ever since !
@@ShinyFlakesShinyFlakes - they chunked their spears farther then...

I am LOVING THIS CHANNEL!!!!! It’s so cool to look back at just random ‘days in the life’ bc most of us only have family bbq’s & summer vacations. People didn’t want to lug the 10 pound VHS recorders everywhere..but I’m so thankful YOU DID!! 🤣💗🎯
I'm so glad u found me!!! ❤❤🤘🤘
Everyone would wave and say “hi mom”. Even in this vid someone did (cameraman if that’s Len)
Port Hadlock is only a few hours away.
Love watching your shenanigans!!
04:01 Playing INXS with Jimmy Barnes, a song called Good Times. Really cool tune!
I could watch these all day! I miss these times SO badly😢 Great vid Len, rock on🤘🎶🎵🎸87'😝
My life in the 80's was much the same...had a few of the same posters in my room lol. Those were the BEST years of my life! It was all about the music, good friends, and having fun. The world is much different now, but in my mind I am still an 80's metalhead
🤘
Searching for songs on cassette tapes hell yes what a time it was and I remember a kid down my street had one of those hats with the visor 😆
I was born 1977 got into metal at 14 played guitar ever since and dammm I miss the 80s 😭
Love your videos LEN you definitely lived these days the best way possible brother 🤘🤘🤘🤘❤
Back then, most of your buddies were either in a band or were learning to play an instrument. It seemed like everyone you ran into was a musician or wanted to be one. Cutting up and goofing on each other was a way of bonding. Having long hair was the sh!t. The more you could look like a rock star, the better. Even owning a guitar made you feel like a badass. Let’s not forget skipping school and bong hits with your friends. Somebody always had the school skipping car everyone piled into ( like me). Going to a concert was a pilgrimage and a right of passage. Getting drunk and puking gave you street cred. Ahhh great times. Let’s go back 🍺🎶🎸🤘
I was 18 summer '87.. just graduated.. the best times
Same.
Yep
Me too. Best time!
Me too.

That was fun to watch, Len. It brought back so many memories of growing up in the 80's, listening to all the hair metal bands, hanging out in forts, summers that were just so amazing. Len.....thanks for this video. It's always so great to remember how it was during the 80's summers.
And Nirvana ended it 5 years later! 😡
Growing up in the 80s was exactly like this. I miss it so much
Was so awesome to be young in the 70's and 80'. The decades of Rock! Rush, Zeppelin, ACDC, Ozzy, Aerosmith, VH and on and on.
Len is back with yet another memory video!!
Love these videos takes me back to the days of shoulder camcorders and v8 cars.
Long hair and torn jeans permeated the scene and everyone was smoking a little something.
Jason and Freddy movies, heavy metal and rock music, a total kids paradise.
Cheers Len and glad your still safe and doing videos!!
They were definitely special times.
I forgot about the click of the buttons trying to find the beginning or end of a song on cassette. Lol!!!
Gas was .92¢ a gallon. Sigh. Wish it was that now!!!
Yeah, you could get 3 bucks in gas and a pack of Marlboros for 5 bucks. May be have a quarter to make a phone call. Life was good.....
I miss those days. Being an owner of a recording studio and playing drums . Also driving a freshly rebuilt 1971 Z/28 and working out daily. What a life the 1980s were. These are memories to last a lifetime.
Im a 1980 kid, and life back then really was absolutely phenomenal 👌. I miss the days that not being able to reach a friend via phone just built the happy anticipation of spending time pissin on their stuff 😅 We had to build relationships with parents before they would even let us TALK with their daughters at night, and then everyone in our house would be mad at us because we talked until lights out and they wanted the phone next. I drank my first beer at my first job with my first boss, it was a Budweiser and it was disgusting. I remember thinking "how is it so bad but EVERYONE likes it?" We stayed out late playing the new Street Fighter games in the arcade behind the restaurant(most restaurants had at least 1 or 2 arcade games) and then snuck back in the window and acted like we were there all along. Before and after school, most school kids (a bit over a hundred) met in the Winn Dixie parking lot to find out what parties and get togethers were going on, we would use the pay phone there to call back numbers on our beepers 🤣. And all to the music of Nivana, Megadeath, and Cannible Corpse. God man, those were good times. Not too much has actually changed about the new generations, I still see alot of yall enjoying life as a dumb kid just like we did, but the boundless wealth of entertainment that a phone can offer really seems to have detached a lot of the youth from the nearby world. Yall really have a great chance at finally bringing people together and getting them over the petty differences we all have if you can outlast the two generations between us. I wish each and every one of you kids the absolute best in life.
love that you released another video - really takes me back
6:05 Seriously though, what the hell is that hat?! 😆
Gen X checking in! Graduated in 86 this brings back very fond memories I wasn’t a metalhead I was a cruiser (car guy) but had several friends that where metal heads. You young folks wishing for this are our only hope going forward. You’re right it was a wonderful time to grow up in. I feel proud to be Gen X . But at the same time I’m sad to see how far down we have fallen as a society.
I MISS THESE DAYS HORRIBLY!
Born in 1991 thank you for uploading the videos i can see what was life before i was born
Been awhile since I’ve passed by, good to see you still posting Len!
This reminds me so much of me and my buddies back in those days. Long hair, rock t-shirts, ripped jeans and a whole lot less worries than I have today.
Beevis is still looking for you
“I want everyone to hear what it sounds like.” It’s like he knew years later we’d see this video. 😊
I was 15 in 87. I miss those times so much. I love this video! Thankyou
The cars, the mullets, the music, the bicycle with the checkerboard pads. This video is full of awesomeness.
Ahhhhh finally I’ve been waiting for another video 💕💕
I was 5 about to turn six and it brought back memories I never knew I had! That’s crazy the nostalgia thanks for that
I was 10 years old in 1987. I had that same Heather Thomas poster (Girl in Pink Bikini, played on The Fall Guy TV show)😍😍😍, mixed in with Maiden, Tallica, ect. AC/DC was the first concert I saw in the summer of '88, Pensacola Florida, The Heatseeker Tour. Wish I had a time machine so bad. I would just stay in the 80's. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THE FIRST VIDEO SO WE CAN SEE IT NOW AND REMEMBER BETTER TIMES!!! 🤘🇺🇲😜!!!!
More like this on my channel if u wanna go down the 80s headbanger teen years rabbit hole
Man, I was 16 in the summer of 1987 now I’m almost 51! What the hell happened?!
Man, me too.
😭
Dang I wasn't born till 1999 lol
I was 13/14 in 1987…gonna be 48 this year, seems like yesterday for me still!
Ignorance and apathy..........
None of us had any idea what our world was about.
Damn I wished that I had been introduced to psychedelic mushrooms back then.... Maybe I would have caught on to the bullshit sooner.
56' myself, I'm asking the same question.
You know how it was back then, waking up with a fart, wearing classic horror movie t shirts and pissing on a friends bicycle seat, just another 80's day to day life.
bobby budnick would be proud
Did you start fires too?
It’s crazy to think though, that my dad was like like these guys. He was a huge metal head in the 80’s and was even in a band, they had some fans of it in his hometown. I guess they played covers live at all the local restaurants or bars that had live music. He had a crazy mullet too! He would tell me stories of him and his buddies sneaking into his moms house (my grandmas house) as quietly as possible every weekend because they’d get drunk at rock shows or parties and crash in his room. It’s such a strange thing to think about my parents when they were my age. Hell, my mom and dad during winter used to jump the fences at night that blocked steep hills and sled down them all night. I even remember a story where my mom snuck my dad into a bar (he was under 21 and my mom is 3 years older than him) and they got wasted and drove donuts in the parking lot. Seeing these videos help me have a better imagination when I’m retold these stories by my dad (my mother has passed so I can’t hear her teenage and young adult stories anymore). For so long I couldn’t really humanize and imagine what life and people were like at the time, but these videos make it feel so much more real and alive and relatable!
It's crazy when you get to that age of realising your parents used to be their own people (just like us.. Shock horror😳) before we came along.. Lol.. I'm sorry to read about your Mom it's great that you still have the stories. Lovely to read, made ME nostalgic and its not even my story!
Same here. These videos help us appreciate everything our parents tell us about them as kids of the 80s
i lived it too, love the Priest at the closing. really cool vid dude
