Planning on getting one, do you have any tips to improve performance?
I'm definitely planning to buy one after buying the Pimax Portal and Ayn Loki Mini and maybe the RG353M. Also yes Stacked Shoulder buttons aren't necessary for Sega Saturn and below Emulation. However for PC/Console Companionship Stacked Shoulder buttons are definitely a very welcome addition.
There is one game, that no one has tried, but is one of the most fun games on PS2 - Black, can you please test this one, and let us know in here.
No one else has ever shown footage of this game, I was able to get around half speed on my RP2+, can this chipset finally show near full speed.
@@KingPepper41 sure I'll try it out today.
-Aish
If the quality on gamecube is a small screen crappy fps should not be listed to run gamecube
Thank you for testing Samus Returns , can't wait for mine to arrive.
Just ordered one looks like it's gonna do everything I want it to doo 🎉🎉❤
Man..what a spectacular review ..the best i view...i like the size of rg505 and screen
Thank you i really appreciate it!
And me too the device feels really good and the games look great.
-Aish
I'm thinking of getting one
It’s a great place to be where you have two devices that appeal to very nuanced needs for various users. I’m actually keen on the 505 because I think after setting it up, my daughter (10yrs) really loves it and it will be fairly intuitive for her to use Android.
That's awesome I'm sure she'll have a great time.
-Aish
Thanks a lot for the SW Battlefront 2 play!!
No worries i tried to get all the requests in.
-Aish
The 505 seems to have better face buttons. The button size is a huge plus. Analog sticks are also bigger making it less awkward. Arguably a better screen color saturation for the OLED screen. It's also beginner friendly seems it's easier to set up.
I bought the rp3+ for the hdmi out and stacked shoulder buttons. I also don't need to flash it via gamma os for better performance and to remove sharpening. It also have better resolution size.
But setting it up was such a drag lol. Transferring roms from my phone to the sd card was tedious. But it's worth it. I'm enjoying the handheld now.
I like the screen of anbernic rg505 more than rp3+ because its oled and has great response time than the screen of RP3+
Great review I bought one I can't wait to receive it 🙂 I have a few handhelds from the SteamDeck to some of the cheaper ones but recently sold a few old anbernics so I went for this one.
I will mainly play arcade games (fbneo/mame), Naomi/Atomiswave , snes, nes, megadrive, mega cd, neogeocd etc.. so the shoulder buttons aren't an issue for me.
I'm just looking forward to playing the hidden gem arcade games on a small oled screen 🔥 I already know they will run and look great 🙂
Games look great on that screen.
-Aish
Omg I think I gotta get this one
Thanks for the great review. Any chance you could add SSX Tricky to the GameCube section for future reviews?
i bought the RG505 yesterday (haven't received it yet), ...previously had the ayaneo air which was great but i sold it because terrible battery life plus at 398g weight it was a bit too heavy tbh. I like that the RG505 is 286g, and i imagine it's like a ps vita but with more power, so i think i'm gonna love it and seems it's gonna be just what i was looking for
Do i need to buy game for this controler?
Thanks for the informative video. Were you able to get rumble to work in games that support it? For the life of me I couldn't on my RG353 and 351 devices...
Yup i think i even mention in twilight princess that it goes off everytime epona moves 😆

I’m up in between this and the Retroid Pocket 3 + but I know as soon as I get it (I live in Texas USA), something newer and more powerful will drop. I will wait for the new year to see what happens. I really want a Steam Deck but these have caught my attention because of the more affordable prices.
There's always going to be something more powerful on the way, doesn't mean you can enjoy one today.
But if you're set on the steamdeck then save up! These will always be available.
-Aish
@@retrohandhelds I’m not set on the Steam Deck. I will get something else if it’s more affordable and performs nearly the same as the Steam Deck. I really just want Android (with the Google Play Store), along with GameBoy, GameBoy Advance, GameCube, Wii and PSP emulation. Those are the systems I played when I was younger.
@@EricasTouch if you want better Wii and GameCube but want to stay on Android the Odin might he the way to go.
-Aish
@@retrohandhelds I will look into that one. Thanks.
@@retrohandhelds That or the New Pimax Portal or KT R1 looks promising.
This looks nice but I just know that once it drops, Anbernic will release something slightly better just a few days later.
You could say that about tech in general, but unless something major happens i don't see the next ones being that much more powerful at this price. My advise is if you see one you like go for it, don't worry too much about what's next because even if a new one comes, you'll still enjoy the one you have.
-Aish
i agree with the op, i think we’ll have to wait another year for fully playable ps2 unfortunately :/ and that’s with anbernic or retroid going in accordance to chip prices in times to come.
@@fairyboy444 at this price? Yeah probably.
-Aish
@@fairyboy444 You mean fully playable PS2 at an affordable PriceTag. 😒
it's gonna take a while, though. they are gonna burn through this chip and make various models off of it like 351 series.
how did you get DQ V for ds show the test on the main screen? waht setting did you use?
Where do I put the games for nds. Once I download them, it's not giving me a folder to put it.
If they r using the same oled screen as the vita 1000 model the colors will look great for while then after a few years it will start yellowing definitely prefer norma or ips led lcd screens for that reason
Does it have Nights into Dreams preloaded?
i know this video pretty old but how is the psp games on it like gta vice city stories? also have you tried ps remote play? how is that?
Vice City stories on PSP runs well, ps remote play I need to try again to recall, not the first handheld I'd reach for to do that since the lower screen resolution.
So would you say this is comfortable enought if I mostly will be playing gamecube, wii and ps2? I have an x18s and I'm so tired of the bad controls.
Also, do you know how long Anbernic takes to ship the rg505?
I would say yes i didn't have any issues getting to any of the buttons. Anbernic is usually fast with shipping but I'm not sure how long it would take.
-Aish
I tried so hard to add Saturn Games on it, but it doesn't work. Which ROMs are recognized? For Example Sega Rally Championship 95, the Saturn Rom and the Arcade Rom in the right folder, but both are working. Do you have a hint for me?
What emulator are you using ?
Can you connect a bluetooth controller in this handheld?cause i wanna play it with a ps4 controller
Where do u get 3ds roms
Hi I have a Rg353m how do I play 3ds on here
Install the emulator (citra mmj works best for the 505), get your 3ds games in .3ds format and load then up either in the internal storage or the SD card, set up the controls and screens for citra and enjoy.
Time..?
Brilliant , xenoblade is working
I was very surprised by this, i will say i was getting a few more frames before adding google play, maybe try a pal rom to get better performance.
-Aish
@@retrohandhelds strange Google play made you lose some frames!
@@garrysutcliffe6254 I know still not sure what's up with that, but I'm sure it'll be much better when we get lineage.

I would like to see if any Wwe wrestling titles from PS2 and GameCube run
Didn't test those but in my experience they don't run that great even on snapdragon devices.
-Aish
@@retrohandhelds right I remember that horrible experience.. I haven't seen any since this t618 chipset so I was wondering if there was a chance ..I know the psp titles run and psx and Dreamcast titles run good too just hoping for PS2 and GameCube also
@@Chacestarrz23 there's something weird going on with the GC/PS2 versions, they shouldn't be that hard to run but they might just not be well optimized.
-Aish
Ur absolutely right, they really shouldn't be a issue with those so something else buggy is happening.. thanks for the feedback though much appreciated 👍
@@Chacestarrz23 happy to help.

Retro Game Corps review, and a few others said that the analog sticks are terrible and highly favor the x and y axis so they basically just work as an 8 way dpad and not so much as an analog stick. Have you had this issue at all?
Not really, and i just retested a few games to see if the sticks gave me any issues. I understand the tests show a favor towards 8 way as many have reported but during gameplay i didn't notice any problems, my only complaint after retesting specifically for sticks issues is that they can be a little sensitive when trying to sneak.
-Aish
the retro pocket 3+ have horrible analog sticks its a shame basicly makes rp3+ unusable
@chickenmcnugget2537 it definitely doesn't, they are basically the same as the 505 and switch and every other retro handheld, they are perfectly usable.
@@CHICKENmcNUGGIESMydude i made a video changing the buttons on the rp3 and added some vita caps to the sticks, it helps a lot!
-Aish
Is there a handheld that has no slowdown at all? And which handheld is best for 3ds games?
A 3ds is the best handheld for 3ds.
What do you mean no slowdown, on what ?
-Aish
I want to be able to play ds and 3ds games and I mean like no lag no frame drops
@@GiesGames 3ds is rough because the emulator just isn't there yet, even the edin will stutter with 3ds.

playing 3DS are so natural, because games on 3ds do slowdown too lol
how are you able to use the analog sticks retro game corp said they are basiclt unusable and showed a video of the analog only moving 4 way so basicly unusable how are you able to use them still ??>
It looks like an 8 way in Russ' video and if you run a gamepad tester, but in actual gameplay, it's not really noticeable. If you're playing some high precision Android FPS, it might be an issue, but none of our team has really seen it as a huge flaw in emulated stuff. - Zu
Don't know they seam to be working just fine, you can see during gameplay i don't have any issues moving, i even went back and tested earlier today to see if I could find any problems and the only thing i noticed was the sticks are a little sensitive when trying to sneak/walk slow, but even then it wasn't much of an issue.
Just because the sticks favor a certain plain in testing doesn't mean they won't work during gameplay.
-Aish
The sticks have pretty bad calibration though. Probably wouldn't be able to play games that require the character to walk/sneak, like Metal Gear Solid for example
Yeah I've seen videos about that but honestly it hasn't been a problem for me, then again i wasn't looking out for it. I'll test that here in a bit and see if I have any issues.
-Aish
Just tested Mario 64, sunshine, windwaker and twilight princess and other then the sticks being a little sensitive for sneaking i didn't have any problems you can still do it just fine it's just the travel zone on the analog stick is kinda small for that. But yeah if you want a bigger travel zone for precision analog movement maybe not the greatest option, but I'm not really sure what you could find in this price range that offers better sticks and this level of performance.
-Aish
@@retrohandhelds thanks for confirming. Do you think it's possible for anbernic to fix the issue via software update?
@@muhdzaidi3051 it's should be possible, i can't imagine these are any different to the 353m sticks other then the color, and those don't have these issues.
But again the sticks aren't a problem in gameplay it's just they could be better.
-Aish
@@retrohandhelds the 3+ i guess, those who tested both say its better in the gamepad tester app.
Still a pass because it looks like your right hand is hitting the stick all the time when pressing facebuttons.
Hasn't been an issue at all, not sure why it would look like that but it hasn't happened.
The sticks are recessed enough to where it's not a concern at all.
-Aish
@@retrohandhelds maybe it is just a problem with how I hold a handheld. I have problems with this on my 351p and 552. Might be more me
