Hey guys, please dont update your installed cores or controller profiles.
I will literally watch any 'top 10 ____" video. 10 is the magic number!
Thanks for watching TechDweeb 🍻
No! 3 is the magic number. Yes it is, is the magic number.
TechDweeb!!!🔥
I had no idea I could change the looks of retroarch! Thank you so much!
Great top ten list young lad. Bloody brilliant. Huge thanks. You saved me a lot of time.
Great video quality and list! Love the table decor btw 😁
Who wants another Top 10 Tips? 😎
Need some comparison videos.like with myioo mini plus, rg35xx plus, Powkiddy RGB 30...
Also some tips for onion os ?
I can't seem to get my retroarch to look like this, when changed to xmb I've no icons or toggle on/off slider, just text :( Any ideas?
Great channel btw 👍
For sure lad!
@@Aidod27reduce scale factor
Great guide!!
Lezz go!! Thanks Javi!
thank you for the tips bro. keep it up
Thanks thats helped me with retroarch in general 😁
Being able to turn that pop up off when loading a game is amazing! I also didn't realise you could change how RA looked! Thank you for the tips 🔥
Great Tips!!🤩
Thanks for the tips,. mate.
Extremely helpful I’ve been wanting one these retro devices but I could not justify the purchase when i have 3dxl but this is exactly what I’m looking for . That gba XP form factor is hard to beat .
Very helpfull!
Thanks dude
Disabling load content notifications is a great tip, I always forget to do that.
The tip for the XMB menu was actually pretty nice, I didn’t know that was there
I already buyed 353vs some days ago but sp was my first love snd today i finally buyed hahaha
Pls make video for rg28xx. You are the only one that explain clearly. ❤
Nice!! Any PSP set up?
Nice. Thanks. Will the recommendations related to Retro Arch also work on the muOS custom firmware? Cheers.
just dl and installed muos thanks to a previous video of yours on my anbernic sp. do u prefer the stock firmware on this console ?
Can you do a top 10 tips for the rg35xx H?!
Tips 6 is ❤❤❤
Thank you! Quick question: is it possible to change the button sounds instead of just turning them off?
It is if you have access to a linux computer
Just be careful disabling shaders. There is an issue with frame rate syncing unless you install a "shaderless" shader. Joey from Retro Handhelds has a great video on it as well.
Hey so if I see my quick shutdown just like yours, does it actually shuts down the device? Or does it put it into sleep?
Well done. Im Not sure why you didn’t set it to snow… that’s my favorite summer profile
Snow is definitely a vibe maybe Ill change it later
for the quick shutdown feature...what about for games that use the power button for d-pad/analog stick toggle? Does it affect this? Also, can you remap the d-pad/analog stick toggle to either L2 or R2?
Those systems unfortunately no quick shutdown will not work
Any idea where I can get the files for the Apps folder? Mine is empty
I love this video, is there a way to add shaders to gba but not to gb? I like the custom gb shaders/colors you showed in the video but I like the pixelization ones gba games. Another thing is when I make a new folder, it doesnt show up in settings.
You can set the shaders to manual and set them however you like
You probably not looking in the right place make sure to back out of the parent folder enough
Hello, sorry for the inconvenience, the xu10 console finally arrived at my house, and I don't know what's happening, it gets stuck on the loading screen, does anyone know what to do?
Dude, the fast forward in gPSP is very good, but I hate that it starts without the bios, and it's what for me gives that magic touch to this console, is there a way to load bios in the gPSP core and start with the GBA logo?
Yeah, you can turn it on settings
@@JaviPlayRetro teach me please
Thank you for the video! This immediately made me wonder, why don't more systems immediately consider XMB as the default interface, and then instantly launch RetroArch upon turning on?
It's familiar for people who have ever played on a PSP or PS3, and also looks great. Does it have to do with power consumption? Or perhaps the fact that it may not look as clear on a 3.5" 4:3 screen?
I think xmb may be more resource intensive, but RG35XX SP can handle it. I agree that it should be the default user interface. It looks much more clean than anything else on retroarch.
I think the reason they don't basically just have it only be retroarch. Is i guess they want to make it "easy" to just get going. And they need some kind of os in place to get network and Bluetooth controllers paired. It's just unfortunate that these stock OSes are so half baked
XMP looks better on larger high resolution screens like the desktop version of Retroarch. It's also more resource intensive which is not good for a portable device with limited battery life. For the RG35XX type devices I prefer rgui.
Hello javi,i have update assets many time but why icon theme still missing?what OS you using, stock or mod or cfw?
Did you connect to wifi?
@@JaviPlayRetro yes of course,i connect wifi..what os u use?i using mod os 2.3 (base on update stock 20240428),but retroarch version still 1.1.0
@andreandre9153 Im just on the stock os. Just make sure youre entering retroarch from the setting on the main menu
What does changing the controller profiles do?
If you update it it erases the button binds and there no way to easily fix them. So basically when you go into retroarch youll press buttons and it won't do anything
I'll never trade the accuracy of mGBA for faster fast forward and all RG35XXs come with Threaded Video ON by default on RetroArch Video settings and that's for weak devices, it increases the input latency and stutters, you can turn it off for everything but Dreamcast/PSP/N64
*HELP* just got mine. The screen won't say on.😮
I press power button, the screen turns on for a second or two then turns off again.
The XMB looks like the PS3 UI
How is the agme at 0:10 called?
Jojos Bizarre Adventure PS1
@@JaviPlayRetro thx
I changed my GB pallete settings, just like you did in the video. However, all my game Boy games still look green. I want them to look black and white
Press the L and R to change them
@@JaviPlayRetro yeah once I put it on internal, it changes but to different palletes of green. All of my game Boy games look green. I can't figure out how to at least get them to look black and white
Just double checking, but, by default gba games are integer scaled and scaled correctly to the original gba, right? That is what the gab bezel does, right?
From what I understand when it does that it’s forcing it into the 3:2 aspect ratio, which is what gba is. Since the screen itself is 4:3 like the other rg35xx line of devices, without the bezel or an overlay applied you would have black bars on the top and bottom of the screen to scale it correctly. The only other cheap device now that displays gba full screen without tweaking anything besides applying shaders is the rg351p and it’s because the screen itself of that device is 3:2. But with this device you can’t really tell or see the black borders on top or bottom because of the natural borders of the screen.
@Howlett804 yeah the black bezels on the devices are the way to go. That Grey version with the Grey bezel and red buttons kinda makes the black bars jarring. Also it ruins the gba sp look when using the gba sp overlay
Yea by default when you launch any of the handheld games they’ll have filters and borders on them to make it more accurate (1:1 and 3:2 aspect ratio) so the border is both replicating the original borders and helping force the game to run in its original 3:2 ratio
I am not sure, but I think I read somewhere that it is scaled correctly by default, but not 'integer' scale. Integer scale would be too small, IIRC, but I may be wrong.
Edit; just checked, thisnis correct, it is scaled between 2 and 3 x, so not integer. 2* integer would be too small. That is no prolem though, it looks great as is!!
How do you enable analog controls? Like where is the setting. There's definitely alot of learning curve with this. Retroarch is hardcore. It does not even have detail description or help menu. Also everyone says that you can click the power button for joy stick. But that does nothing for me. I'm trying to play n64, I have tried all 4 analog stick options. I've looked under hotkeys, theres nothing I can find. That shows analog controls. I was hoping I just had to enable it under hotkeys and set it to power button. Any help be great. It be nice if they made software dedicated for these devices. They show so much nonsense and even pc settings. Is there a detailed video on how to set up rg35xxsp or detailed retroarch videos with everything explained? No trolls please, genuinely trying to get help. I've emulated on my pc, tablet, phone. But this is just difficult to grasp everything.
i have this checkerboard effect on my gba games. how do i remove that plz help. it looks ugly af
Its probably a shader. Try going into App center/ app/ Shaders then turn it off. Disable them that should do the trick
Its at 17:30 also
@@JaviPlayRetro Yea sorry man I commented before I got to that part in your video. Thank you !

It would be helpful to tell us what each tip is and the reason, before you tell us how to do the thing. It's kinda irritating having to watch 5 minutes of technical directions before I even find if it is relevant for me.
Which tip exactly is not for you?
@@JaviPlayRetro Some where very helpful like disabling the retroarch messages that pop up when you boot up a game. The ones I am personally uninterested in are one like changing retroarch themes, and changing GBA cores just so the fast forward is set to R2. But my point is not that the tips are unhelpful, just that it is good practice to put the tip and the reason for it before the technical explanation of how to do it so that the viewer has all the context they need.
@@ds0929 I don’t understand what you’re trying to tell him, he does state the tip and has a text popup saying what the tip is at the beginning of each segment
@ds0929 Ill keep this in mind for the next video. Thanks for watching
@@notquitekeanu several times in the video, especially in the first half, he begins telling us how to do a thing and what menus to go through and says "I'll tell you why later" and only explains the tip and reasoning after showing the menu process of how to get there.
Its all a matter of taste ofcourse but I really prefer my RG35XXPLUS. I think it looks cool and feels nice. The SP look clonky to me.

Do you notice your anbernic making a noise when charging? Mine does and it's a bit alarming.
Mine doesn’t do that
You should definitely be careful if yours is making a noise while charging. There have been 2 posts on Reddit where people shared their device heating up to the point that it melted the plastic, and one of the posts talked about how their system burst into flames. They reported that their device also made a noise when charging. You could potentially have a faulty battery and it could be dangerous. I would send it in for a replacement, and NEVER use a fast charger or usb c to usb c charger for this device
@@notquitekeanu That's kind of the fear I was leaning towards. Last time I heard a battery making noises it ended up trying to gas me to death 😅 I bought it directly from Anbernic so I'll contact them and see what solution they offer.
