So basically there is ABSOLUTELY NO flaw. It’s as simple as your preference causes you alone problems. I’ve seen plenty of videos of these installs and no one has a problem except you. This is your problem, not AuxBeam’s.

Ok thank you for you feed back. The length of the cables limits your options on where you can mount it. Like you I watched a lot of videos on this and they all seem to be limited where to mount this unit. Thus coming up with what I thought would be a flaw. Other than that it is an awesome product and I have recommended it several times to people. Velcro and drilling into existing fuse panel is not my cup of tea for like most I’ve seen. Thanks again for your feed back and watching.

@@WickedFabz I’m waiting on mine to get here via FedEx and I won’t be mounting it to the fuse box lid. I’ll mount it just like you did but I’m a different location directly next to it hopefully having the wires long enough but if not I really don’t mind making my own and it won’t be a flaw, just my personal preference. Being that you said “MAJOR FLAW” in all caps it wasn’t your thought, you made it to be a fact that you were angry about. 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️ I of course ran my own wires from my light bar and didn’t use the supplied wiring harness. I also sheathed them in a 3/8” braided sleeve for protection and good looks. I also have 1/4” and 1/2” for any projects that may require thinner or thicker wires. I will be putting the AuxBeam’s wires in the sleeves as well for looks and protection. I thought of buying black sleeving also but I chose to make everything red and I’ll just use red or black heat shrink for the positives and negatives.I did notice you use red plastic sleeving. In my opinion I prefer the braided ones, especially if I’m using anything other than black.

Are the braided ones split like the placstic? I’ve have seen where the braided ones are plastic and split. It’s getting harder to find the color look like I’ve used. I’ll have to check on the braided stuff. Thanks.

@@WickedFabz the ones I use are plastic. It’s not split, it’s like a straw. The ends tend to fray when you cut it if you don’t immediately burn them. I have found that if you cut the sleeve with scissors while on the wire it frays a ton. Luckily I have heat shrink already on behind that and just pull it up and shrink. I do need to find a bette rest to cut the sleeves while on the wire, that or wait to heat shrink one end until I have both cut. But when it’s a longer run of wire I need to do it that way or I’ll be running the wire twice, lol.
I used it on my light bar wire from the light to my Auxbeam switch panel and the wires from the battery to the Auxbeam.

@@WickedFabz “PET Expandable Braided Sleeving 100Ft-1/4 inch Wire Loom, Aibole Braided Cable Sleeve Wire Wrap,Black&Red” I got mine on Amazon. I have 1/4”, 3/8” & 1/2”.
Im thinking of buying a long roll of heat shrink since the kits only have a few of each size. I’ll do the same with what I did on the sleeves. A long roll of 3 different sizes. 3 in red and 3 in black. When the wire is red I use red heat shrink. When the wire is black I use black heat shrink. I guess I could get 2 colored sleeves but 🤷‍♂️

Click bait headline major flaw is you.

Needed to do the same lengthening to mount on an aftermarket aluminum rack near the firewall on my FZJ80. New cables were already part of the budget as I upgrade to US made cables (everything really I can find) as part of best practices.

Installing your aux beam in your video I think he's gone a little bit Happy on the red Loom it's a bit much don't you think

I had the same issue with my Silverado. I just ran the cables it came with because I was in a rush.

  • @TRKGL1800

Another issue is when wiring your lights use both the negative and positive from the relay board. I had an led driving light that originally was grounded to the chassis and worked great with just a switch. But when I installed the Auxbeam it would flicker with the engine running. once I ran the negative to the led light it solved the issue.

Huge flaw. I had to have a new positive cable made as well

If you wanted a "super clean installation" Why on earth do you have all the ugly ass red cable covers. Engine bay looks like a hot mess...

Need to change the title. MAJOR Flaw is misleading. No flaw. Cables not long enough for your position isn't a flaw.

What gauge wire did you use for this mod?

    • @WickedFabz
      @WickedFabz  Před 8 měsíci +1

I used 4 gauge. Just make sure you use the right size ends. Some are larger than other.

A little flaw? Maybe, a MAJOR flaw, absolutely not. Id personally would get my own new cables from the get go.
