The sheer amount of misinformation/lies in this video is astonishing. The Lucid Air starts at $87000 which is cheaper than the model S (the Tesla model it actually competes with), it has a range of over 500 miles, and the top end model reportedly does 0-60 in under 2.5 seconds so I don’t think “slow” is an apt description.
After seeing your other videos it’s clear you’re just Tesla fanboys who are happy to lie about any competitor.
The lucid air starts at 87000..true. But not every model has more than 500 miles of range plus...and the last time i checked the lucid airs made to compete with the model s plaid (Dream edition and sapphire) START at 169000 and 250000 and a fully decked s costs 165000

Just did a test-drive of a Lucid Air GT. It's easily the best EV driving experience I've had to date. Will be testing a Mercedes EQS next.

Lucid's sales grew by 3,400% from 2021 to 2022. People are buying them so much that I have to wait until early summer for delivery of the one I ordered in January. Good try.

When elon was first to space he was the newbie and everyone doubted the company. I think he is failing to remember that the execs in charge of lucid was at tesla and went through the bs and everything in the beginning stages. This is the modern microsoft and apple.

Tesla almost went bankrupt when they went into production and tried to sell their company to Apple. Lucid will not be profitable for long time and will spend their entire cash reserve on manufacturing alone. With that said the Lucid Air made a huge impression on the reviews and the world is desperate for a Tesla alternative.

It's all about profitability. Lucid needs to dramatically cut their spending, simultaneously ramping up production and aquiring more budget. We'll see real cheap lucid stocks soon (6 months max)

Lucid's management all have long careers in the automotive industry, unlike Tesla.
Lucid's spending is on building the factory that will support mass production of their forthcoming SUV next year. Large sedans are not mass market vehicles today.
Lucid's battery pack, electronics, and drive units are superior to Tesla's. Visit a showroom to see the amazing interior design, top shelf materials, and superior fit&finish.
819hp Air GT is less than an optioned-out Model S Plaid. Two air models are offered for less than a _base_ Model S.
In the video they said the car was ugly. It is anything but ugly, it is beautiful and stunning. I do think they need to produce a cheaper car an SUV and a pickup. Granted they are stumbling with production but so did Tesla. Their vehicle also drives so much better than any Tesla ever produced and lets not mention fit and finish(oops I just did). The Lucid is more even with say an S-Class

The problem with anyone making cheap EVs is twofold. Firstly, only companies with very large existing capabilities can do it profitably. Secondly, American won't buy them. Both the LEAF and Bolt can be had for under $30k. Both don't sell well and neither is profitable to make. Lucid has teased a less costly vehicle but that won't come for a couple years.
Lucid's production today is intentionally small scale. Today they assemble cars from parts made on contract elsewhere as construction crews finish the 2.7 million square foot factory. Once that plant is able to begin supporting production they will become more vertically integrated and production pace will increase dramatically.
After the factory starts to come online next year they will begin taking orders for the Gravity, a sleek 3-row SUV. It should sell well. Target production for the Air is 50k units worldwide, 250k for the Gravity, by 2025. A sporty Model 3/Y equivalent has been hinted about but, unlike Tesla, Lucid doesn't telegraph what it is going to do to the public. You have to listen to earnings reports and read SEC filings to get much of the info I posted above.

@@Miata822 When I say a cheaper EV I mean around $50k give or take, even up to $70k. I know they are going to have a few different levels of the Air but over $100k is a hard nut to swallow. 20 years ago I could of swung it but not now

I love the Lucid air. Only two issues I see is high cost of the vehicle and lack of production. I am one of the consumers desperate for an alternative EV to Tesla. Don’t like the business or it’s owner. Really liking the Kia EV6 also but truth be told if I could afford a Lucid, I would get that vehicle hands down.

Tom Moloughney here on CZcams does range and charging tests for all EVs. He got both better range and faster charging from the Lucid than any other EV ever.

Tesla's biggest competition will be GM's Lyriq. The cost advantage is significant. The knowledge that a car is NOT a computer and that all controls used while driving should be physical and tactile differentiated is a key part of Lyriq'a design. A touch screen is OK for configuration or other functions that are not used when driving. The Lucid Air is a beautiful luxury sedan but the price differential from a Lyriq is significant. While the Lyriq is an SUV, I would expect a Cadillac sedan will be soon to follow and that it will be priced under the Lucid.

After using a touch screen in a Tesla for almost a decade, I appreciate how much easier things are than with physical controls. Except for the things that do have physical controls, which is everything needed to drive the car. Nothing on the screen has to be used in normal driving. But if it is, I'm glad that I don't have to hunt for buttons and knobs. Lucid was the only thing I found compelling enough to buy since I got a Tesla.
Now that I have a Lyriq, it is an extraordinary, well engineered combination of touch controls on the steering wheel and on the 34 inch display … which requires you to take your eyes off the road. You can also use voice commands, which keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel.
Compared to a Tesla Model 3, which I have often rented to get a feel for electric cars, the Lyric is quiet and smooth and there’s no wind noise.
Lucid will have a tougher time. Tesla had no competition for years and was able to make mistakes. Start with a early adopter luxury car, work out the production bugs and then go to a mass market car. Even with that, they almost went broke with the "production hell" of the model 3. With every car company now having a decent EV it may be hard for lucid. They may end up being a low volume, high end vehicle. But that is not where the money is. The number of people that can afford a 100K car is not large. They are following the Tesla playbook, but now it is a different game.
I'm not sure if they have a competition yet and the reason why I'm saying this is because the lucid air has the longest range compared to any other EV available on the market right now.

That's misleading. The Model 3 came out early. It was promised at launch to come out by the end of 2017. It started production in the middle of the year, and by December, I had one in my hands as a customer with no inside connections. Six months later, they were up to a 5000 car per week throughput rate. No other car in production got up to that level that fast in its first year of production. Also, Musk talked about production hell before production started. He warned people that that would be part of the process of starting up any new car production line. People act as if it came about as a consequence of problems rather than what Musk said to expect initially. When I got a Model S in 2014, it took 111 days from the time I ordered. I ordered my Lucid 102 days ago and expect it within the next two weeks. So it's going to be close, but Tesla had been around a lot longer at that point. Also, part of the delay is that Lucid won't ship it until I have certain things signed, while with Tesla, I picked it up at the factory.

Top selling does not mean high profit. Tesla is essentially a ponzi scheme in my book. Sell a lot of cars, but with low margin on each car sold with low quality. Why do you think Elon keeps selling his shares? Why not get better pay? Exactly? Tesla will never become blue chip like Apple or Intel. It's a ponzi and pyramid scheme. Only true high volume car manufacturer that's likely to survive is Toyota -- they have the world's largest loyal customer base.

Elon Musk is 10-15 years ahead of all other EV vehicles AND charging networks. That's why a spent the extra money on a Model 3. I test drove several electric vehicles before I made my decision.

Nobody can predict anything for certain but judging by their high quality product I think Lucid are going to be around for along Time

Over the years, I've had lots of little problems with Teslas, but overall I would have spent more time in the shop for oil changes alone had I bought something else. With Lucid, it remains to be seen.
Tesla also didn’t turn a profit for years and they basically were kept going by their valuation. Competition is good for the consumer.

When Tesla was new, the Model S didn't come with all the features as standard. I picked a few of them but far from all of them and it pushed it over $100,000. That much in 2014 adjusted for inflation is around $129,000. So it's in the same price range, except I get the Grand Touring instead of a Model S 85 without every option. Tesla dropped the price a lot since then, but it still doesn't get them back to 2017 volumes of 100,000 for the Model S and X.

As soon as I heard "Range of 240 miles and slow" I switched off. 500 mile Range and 12th overall at Goodwood Hill climb. I've seen this car first hand, it's Ridiculously fast. It was faster than a GTE 2022 Ferrari WEC race car up the hill. Ignore this BS. Fact check your narrations.
Peter Rawlington says tesla model s is in a different segment and it is unfair to compare the two. I am pretty sure that they are making the sapphire to compete with the s but they messed up with the cost price...
When the Model S came out, Tesla wasn't looking to compete with other EVs because there weren't any. They were looking to get customers who otherwise would have gone for a high end Mercedes or BMW. Many people in that demographic went for a Model S. Some accepted the spartan interior and were fine with shifting their expectations. I did the same. But Lucid's true competition isn't going to be the Model S. It will be other cars in that price range, EV or not, and customers who want more luxury in the classic sense.

Advertising. I just learned about this beautiful car from a game show. I live in a city where they have a showroom. Advertising is definitely needed. Good thing for CZcams so I can learn about this car. Tesla has a big jump and if they want to compete and I think they can the name and information has to get out there.
At this point, I would use Musk as a reverse barometer for what would be the likely future for just about anything. This car outshines Tesla in just about every way, and one need only look as far as Twitter to see how steeply Musk's judgement has fallen.
Lucid is under $10 a share. I hope they don't go bankrupt. I invested a ton of money at $36 a share. I should of sold it when it hit $55 a share.

The only thing stopping lucid from being great is they don’t have a supercharging network like Tesla so even if you get a range of 700 mil, you’re still going to have range anxiety plus their marketing of the car’s price range needs to be better, the average person thinks a lucid starts off at 150k not knowing they have some that start around 70k. So the common thought of range anxiety and thinking they can’t afford it makes people write the car off completely in their minds

I have my lucid air for just over 7 months now, believe me it’s just the best in the ev segment, Tesla is nowhere near lucid.
It looks much better both inside and out. They just need to sort out their Engineering and Manufacturing issues and they'll eventually become competitive. Competition is good, I like Elon but he's a but salty because he knows that Lucid is a much better design than Tesla.

It is currently the highest rated EV on the market and it one Motor Trend Car of the Year. I think the issues with volume are legit but the rest of this video was just supremely biased and trash.
Elon is really off about Lucid exaggerating their vehicles performance. I’ve seen multiple videos where the Lucid Air out performances the Tesla Plaid.

@@redrider7730 thats a short minded thought. As long as more company making EV, the competition will reduce prices. Battery productions will cost less through time and technological improvement. Gas is expected to drain up in less than 100 years, price will hike slowly depending on availability. Its not really about environment, but more about the future. Imagine if they actually start making ev only after gas drain up..that would be shit as hell. I am still driving a gas car, but i have full support for ev. Idk why people like you are so against it. Not really. The 819hp Air GT is less than a loaded Plaid. The Air Touring and base Air Pure both cost less than a base Model S.
For a luxury sedan it is cheap. Lucids prices are peanuts for people who actually have money, and there are more and more millionaires and billionaires every year.
