In conjunction with the No Party Limit mod, I recommend also using the mod Sit This One Out. It lets you place a toggle into each character's hotbar, and you can click it on certain characters to make them sit out when the fighting starts. It lets you bring everyone along for the narative, and still keep a fair party of 4 in fights so they don't become cakewalks. It's not perfect, and doesn't always trigger if you stealth in so only certain party members are actively in combat, but it's a good way to maintain combat balance. Also means that if you fancy a change of line up, just change the toggles while out of combat.
Super great video! It's really helpful to be able to find some QoL essentials and basic mods all in one video, yet have the option to explore individual ones more in your other links.

Very helpful and informative video, thank you! I'm holding off installing mods until Larian's patching slows to a trickle, but I am keeping my eye on what's out there, and you've listed some excellent-looking suggestions.
I get where you are coming from but the great thing is: many mods don't need much input after a Larian update.
The BG3 Script Extender for example updates automatically when starting the game (you just have to wait a little bit but the modder is usually very fasy) and the Better Series usually doesn't need updates after small patches unless UI has been changed.
TL;DR I'd recommend it to try mods now instead of waiting, more so because Larian probably won't slow down quickly.

That's awesome to know, cheers! The other reality is that while I'm keen to try BG3 mods... it's not like a Bethesda game, where I consider mods absolutely essential. Vanilla BG3 is still working fine for me, and I'm seeing any mods as an enhancement, rather than a vital necessity. :)
You are missing out though! I can't play without mods, makes the so much more enjoyable.
@@xReaghan No, I'm not missing out... BG3 is an absolutely fantastic game on its own merits. Moreover, as I said in my original post, I am actually very interested in using mods (which is why I love the awesome suggestions in this video), just not quite yet. :)

I'm a little surprised that with WASD and Immersive UI, Native Camera Tweaks didn't make the cut. Being able to look up, look out, and see all the beautiful artwork that you normally can't has made the game that much better. I use all the mods you mentioned, but Native Camera Tweaks is probably my favorite.
I actually don't use Native Camera Tweaks -- I still prefer the vanilla camera which is why it didn't make my list!
@@FoodThenGamesgot any tips with the native camera to see a floor up or targetable things on the ceiling? (For example the Ragzlin fight)

I'd wish the basic stuff like WASD and stackable items were integrated in the original game, maybe even an option to enable the immersive UI.
Larian made such a great game, but forgot about the no-brainer basics.
I wouldn't be too surprised if we see some of that content packed into a definitive edition down the road. They did something similar with their last game and they've been pretty good at listening to the community.
Not everything is all things to all people. Things like stacking and camera/movement were intentional design decisions for the game. You m ay not agree with those decisions but they were the ones Larian made. They also made the decision to make the game highly moddable so it CAN be all things to all people :)
you have to line it up a bit and it can be a little awkward, but if you hold left click and middle mouse at the same time, you auto-run and the camera pans so it's like WoW movement basically. Found that after too many hours. There seem to be a lot of little things that are never explained.

allow me to add: the transmog enhanced mod
it allows you to overwrite armour pieces with the prettier clothes you want MODS INCLUDED so that you can keep the game balanced while making your characters look fashionable!
personally I use it a lot with the basket full of equipment mod to avoid having unbalanced gear, but it's also helpful because you can mask the armour over camp clothes!
I love watching your videos so much. But I LOVE your SWTOR videos. So while laying here watching, hearing you talk was making my mind, eyes and ears have an existential crisis. I was hearing you and my eyes kept saying to my mind "this should be swtor, tab back to her window" (mind you, this is while watching said video).
In short, your voice is now perfectly canon in swtor for me now. So much so, my brain wigs out when it's not swtor on screen.
And I may or may not be a little stoned on pain meds right now. Who knows? 🤷🏼♂️😅😂
Should check out the Racial Cantrip Modifier. It's a spellcasting modifier for high elf and high half elf racial cantrips. Makes it so your highest stat - INT-CHA-WIS specifically for your racial cantrip modifier. No more useless spells on SH and her firebolt actually hits!

Great video. Random question, but where are you from? I couldn't place your accent, I kept hearing a mish-mash of American/Australian with a touch of Scottish thrown in too 😂
Is there a mod that will set it so the tadpoles aren't shared amongst the players in a multiplayer game? I feel like if I find one it should add one to every real player instead of it being a shared pool amongst the players.
No party limit is soooo chaotic if you have 11 people on one team like I did my last campaign, an almost mandatory mod was the teleport party to player cantrip😭
Another dangerous mod is all spells no concentration, if you use something like hunger of hadar congrats! You just fucked yourself😂
I love the basket of equipment mod, my only issue with it is that it takes up an armor spot, so unless I’m using everything wrong I can’t wear the pieces that super buff my characters, like sets that give unique bonuses or advantage on checks, etc.
You can get the camp clothes version of it instead and then just wear your clothes/hide your armour

OMG, FUCKING THANK YOU, First time trying baldurs gate 3 and THE WASD IS SOMETHING THAT ANNOYED ME, THANK YOU THAT I FINALLY HAVE THE OPTION!
I wish i could download mods for this game but my computer barely supports the game as it is and the game crashed at least twice already (im 114 hours into the game so it hasnt crashed that often thankfully) adding mods would be so cool but i dont want to risk destroying my game. It would be nice to find a mod that would allow me to ressurect people without them being apart of my party tho. I lost Lae'zal very early on and since i detached her from my active party, as well as replaced her with another party member, she is beyond resurrecting. The game no longer recognizes her as a former companion, which sucks. But now i know better for my second playthrough. Almost done with act 2 so it shouldnt take long for me to finish this first go-round

The immersive UI mod is amazing! I just installed yesterday and as soon as I loaded in my jaw dropped. It honestly feels like it should be a feature. I have come to prefer a no or limited HUD in all games and this took my playthrough to a different level. THANK YOU

Ok, so a question from a newb. It seems that for some of the equipment and clothing mods to be installed, during the tutorial, a new character opens a container and that’s when the items are installed. Does that mean that those items are ONLY available in that playthrough? Existing playthroughs will not have those items? How does that work?
Do you mean the tutorial chest on the ship? If you're mid way through a playthrough and the items are only installed that way you just need to use a mod to spawn the chest. The person who made modular equipment also made a mod for that so you can get any of those items that way!
is there any tips on when baldurs gate crashes my pc or closes out? I just got it two days ago and it won't allow me to play without crashing or closing out and i followed your tut on adding mods, it gives me a pop-up before launching saying "We detected mods that will crash or cause issues when gameplay" I'm genuinely stuck and tried everyhting.
If you don't have mod fixer installed that might be causing the issue, or it could be that you have mod that needs another mod to work and it isn't installed. If it was crashing pre-mods though that sounds like an installation issue!

Excellent compilation! One question: I installed the 'Basket Full of Equipment,' but I can't find it. Can you tell me where it is?
you can find it on the beach in act 1 and you can buy amulets for it from various vendors. also there's a spot on the starting ship that has it and the amulet is in the tutorial chest. In my first top mods vid I believe I showed the beach location!
Yo, i have a question. I love to use mods, but i’m kinda worried because of the problem with the mod fixer. I read that the issues depend on the mods
If you got the epilogue to work with mods, which mods did you use?
I got the epilogue and I have all of the mods from all of my vids installed + extra! You still need mod fixer unless you have a mod that comes with it already (such as basket full of equipment).
Also for the epilogue for me personally I had to restart the game and load into one of my quick saves at the end to get it to work. I don't know if that was mod related or just game related (I heard people without mods had the same problem I think?). So My biggest suggestion would be when you get to the end scenes after the last big fight to save and give yourself a few random saves within that (like maybe a quick save then a hard save a few minutes later) so you have options!

Honestly with mod testing and other playthroughs I'm doing I have a lot of "extra" mods just sitting in my load order and it's way to many to name/go through!

Elves unleashed, cleric subclasses, Feat extra, feat every two levels, bagbagsbags, Carry weight capacity, Gold weight zero,did they cause any issues for you?
With all those custom armor things do you just ignore magical items? Or can you wear the magical items somehow and then just get the aesthetics of the custom armors?
if you use the transmog mod you can infuse the stats you want from one armour into one of the modded ones so you can have the best of both worlds.
Is there a mod where you can change the race and appearance of the npc characters? If not, that'd be fun to play with. I want to make a party full of naked swol dragonborn monks
Late reply but Appearance Edit Enhanced on nexus mods does this. Just tested it on shadowheart (act 1) since I hated her hair and no issues so far.

You need to MOD IN keyboard movement? I'm very glad I decided to play this with a controller now. The UI for kbm looks horrendous, too.
If I download these mods, and play multiplayer (I know it won’t work if others don’t have it installed), will it crash? Or cause a defect?
Honestly I've never played co-op so I have no idea. I imagine it'd depend on the mod. My suggestion is to always do a test run in co-op that you don't care about and see how it goes!
Zero good weight is a must-have for me.

Man the equipment mod is fucking awesome. I also can’t stand most of the base game hair styles and faces, so mods for those are also good

how did u get the aether larger party mod to work? i installed it and i went to go add people to my group and they said it was full.. idk if there is a menu that i have to bring up or not?
If you’re using it on a preexisting save make sure you dismiss one companion then you should be able to invite them all to travel and bring them all with you after
@@FoodThenGames it was my first time ever downloading it, i downloaded it to vortex i didnt do nun of the file moving into a zip folder etc. i just did the fast method do i need to do all that extra stuff? Also im new to modding bg3 lol
I just installed it like a normal vortex mod and was fine but you also have to make sure you have the script extender and working for this mod to work.
should i mod this game and restart my play list i am only 3 hours in and i am trying to do everything but mods make me happy lmao but i am stuck between modding and keeping it vanilla

I can't figure out how to get the script extender installed. I can't extract the file to move to bg3 bin. What do I need to use to open it up. I was able to get most mods working but the ones I really want need script extender. Any help is greatly appreciated
I installed the Script Extender via my mod manager. Both Vortex and BG3MM can install it and that's honestly the only way I got it to work!

i wish i was good at downloading mods 😔 im new to pc and every tutorial i follow i always mess up
i downloaded mods and got what they required but when i try to make a new game it just pops up with 6 dummies and then a dragonborn and i cant to ANYTHING and the dummies have no clothes on either
It sounds like a possible mod fixer issue -- some people since hotfix 16 have been having issues with it. I believe some have solved it through installing the script extender!
I just wish we had steam workshop. I have no desire to sit for 8 hours trying to install mods. I attempted an install hairstyle but found they sent me on a rabbit hole for requirements for the requirement... it was just too much for now.
I wouldn't rule out steam workshop 100% yet as the official modding tools aren't out yet so we have no idea what larian will add when that comes in!

I'm not sure if there's a physics based mod that will make fabric move more yet. That might be something we see with full mod tools down the road!

Can you use No Party Limit to increase how many players you can invite to your game?
I don't believe you can, you can just in crease the amount of companions/hirelings you can bring.
i find the basket full of everything and the other clothes mod so hard to use, it so confusing where they go and how to put the clothes together without it looking like my dog ate my homework and spat it back out again lol, I've tried looking for a video where someone goes over it like what cloths go were and stuff like that I seem to have the same peace of clothing but it goes in a different box it just confuses me, lol
I also saw when doing clothes from a basket full of everything the paints looked like they had blood going down the legs, my person was not hurt she was in full health, yet there was just what looked to be blood on the legs, even when I changed the color of the cloths it was there,
Does anyone else get that?
The blood isn't the armour it just shows up more on some stuff. It's from having had a battle recently and even if you're at full health you're still not "clean" you need either a cleansing spell, water, or to go sleep at camp to get rid of it!

It should be just a normal install! I’d double check the mod page to see if anyone is having issues after patch 6 with it as new patches always cause issues!
I love seeing people suffer, trying to sift through loot. This game is nothing compared to the amount of loot that are in games like Rust, or Conan. People are struggling, and I’m over here collecting everything, sending it to camp for later organization, just getting a full on dopamine rush for how easy it is to organize things.
Do i have to play offline for mods?
I'm not sure what you mean by offline -- if you mean do you have to play single player/ non-coop then yes and no. Some mods work in coop others don't. It's worth hoping into a test run for the mods you want to use and seeing if it all works.

Funny thing is withers was a merchant in early access, they just took it out on launch, which I didn't get tbh. There was no chat option for it though, you had to click the button in the bottom left.

1:12, guys, i have wasd and native view, but how did they move charater off the 3rd view, my camera only follows the charater, cannot explore with it

Would be cool is Larian pulls a Bethesda and makes mods an official thing with it’s own menu for downloading mods in the game menu
There are modding tools coming for BG3, I doubt they'll have a menu for straight downloading however DOS2 has an in game Mod Manager so it's possible that BG3 gets that down the road.

Terrible. Don't mod games that aren't designed to be modded (obviously). And they're almost never good. I mean look at the drake warden one. The way they move, I'd be instantly deleting the mod because you can't see shit and it is distracting. Even if I was in favor of modding BG3. And WASD movement? Really? It's so fucking dumb how much certain kinds of players whine about no WASD. And yet people who are used to mouse movement don't whine a game is WASD because they both work. I mean it's probably just FPS kids who grew up with every game being WASD but use it for like half an hour and it's not gonna bother you. Unless you complain about it the entire time, which is a great way to get it stuck in your head that you don't like it. It's like kids with vegetables saying they hate things they haven't eaten.
NEXUS MODS! Wish there was a decent alternative to Nexus woke AF ass but they do have a lot of good mods.. to bad they give zero shits conservative views like at all.. and I hope it costs them money. That said thanks for the vid!

Does the no party limit thing cause issues in combat? Because I kinda want to just bully the enemy.
Plus a gang of raging monk (barbarian/monks) just ripping and tearing into the enemy is hilarious to think about.
Also has anybody made the dragonball z monk (sun warrior I think?) class a mod? If I can kamehameha that changling tart Orin, that would be swell. I’d also take a hadouken or a shoryuken.
I haven't had any issues with it so far. In my current let's play I'm using it so if you look at some later episodes you can see it being used in combat if you're curious!
