SEATED BACK EXERCISE ROUTINE:
Exercise: 1: Shoulder rolls x 10
Exercise 2: Spine Extension/Flexion Stretch x 2
Exercise 3: Side Bends x 2 each side
Exercise 4: Hamstring stretch - 30 seconds each side
Exercise 5: Buttocks stretch - 30 seconds each side
Exercise 6: Spinal Rotations x 5 each side
Exercise 7: Cat Stretch x 2 - 5 second holds
Exercise 8: Seated Lumbar extension - 30 seconds
(To get straight into the exercise go to 48 seconds).
Make sure you do the warm-up before beginning.

As an 84 year old lady with severe lumbar osteoarthritis and being in a lot of pain, I find your back excercises done on a chair really helpful.. Have tried others but I like your excurcises the best. thank you

Hi Mike. Just started doing this video and am hoping to loosen up my lower back. I can't do some of the exercises fully but do what I can and will be measuring the progress. For example I can only reach my calves but will eventually touch my toes and can only just about cross my ankles but aiming to put my leg on my thigh. I love your videos Mike. I love your understanding and patience. I giggle when you remind me not to slouch! How do you know? I'm 82 and wish I had found you 3 years ago after my fall. We were locked down and couldn't leave the house so I had to do it by myself as I live alone. What a godsend your videos would have been. Wishing you love, laughter and joy. Off to do your upper body workout with weights. 🤣😘

Since following your seated leg, weights, core and this one, for just a few weeks, I can now walk without a stick in the house and, yesterday, actually picked up something off the floor. Something I haven't been able to do since a fall in 2019. My lumber region was already damaged and like a block of cement but now there is life in it. Yeah!. I am not a senior but I fractured my right ankle and cannot stand on it nor lie down to work out. My lower back is becoming quite sore from using a knee scooter and crutches to get around. I am glad to have found this seated lower back strengthing routine which after just following it once, has already brought relief to my back pain! Thank you.
Hello Mike! About 7 weeks ago I had achilles reconstruction surgery. After 6 weeks I needed therapy, but due to high co-pay I couldn't afford it. I found your videos and now I am walking without an assistive device. I want to thank you for your devotion and caring compassion that you show to all your viewers. Another great exercise, which I just found. Thank you Mike. I am now graduating to about an hour per day, each day. I do feel that my posture is getting better, and my legs stronger. I do leg strengthening, core and posture work, balancing, and some hip exercises. I seem to be quite good with the balancing, so will concentrate on the others a bit more. I still can't do the quadriceps, which I used to do regularly, a year ago. I think I had an injury of sort, or maybe the progress of my hip arthritis got in the way.

I read your letter today, that's a beautiful picture. Sometimes it's nice to get away, I love to walk especially when the weather is nice, I go to the park there's a walking, running, biking, trail. Also many ducks, prairie dogs, and a lots of activities. The trail is a mile long but you can walk as many as you want, I've done your excercises today and I will go to the park. I love walking it's good for my heart and I've lost over 40 lbs. I wished I could be where you are it looks so beautiful, thanks for all you do by helping us seniors. I will be 73 yrs old next month and have had breast cancer, try to keep active. Thanks again!

Hi Mike. You have some great videos. I am a 74-year-old man with lower back pain. I injured my back in 1984, so I've been living with pain for years. I live in Ontario, Canada. Lately, I've been getting a lot of upper and mid-back muscle spasms. The pain is about a # 7 out of 10. I found your channel and after doing your stretching exercises, my back is feeling better each day. I like the fact that you do the exercise with us. Not just telling us what to do. Following an instructor is more apt to get us to move. Thanks for sharing.👍👍🍁

I just discovered your channel and am so glad I did! I recently had a 10% compression fracture to the T12 vertebrae. It is healing quite well and time for some simple exercises. I am 66 but very active until this issue. I have gone through several of your videos and plan on doing some every day. Thank you!

I wish to credit you for a great video. I've been noticing that for about 4 or 5 times a day lasting for about 30 seconds I actually find myself standing up straight with my chest out and shoulders back. It's due to working with your video once a day. Congratulations, you do very well working with your audience or individuals that you see!

These are perfect exercises for seniors and also quite challenging. Advise watching whole series of videos to keep fit.Better than going to gym and using exercise equipmentt

Hello Mike, thank you for the excercise for sciatica. I no longer have Sciatica, but from being a walker find now that I cannot walk more than 5 minutes when I have bad pain right across my lower back, if I sit 10 seconds, pain disappears, I’m thinking that thru’ sitting so much, muscles have weakened, so I hope these sitting back exercises will help.
