Corsair is the first ship that makes me want to roleplay as a space pirate.
The hammerhead did not “derp out” with the Connie. You caused enough component damage to disable the ship. That’s why it’s shields powered down from 75% on the 2nd to last volley. You knocked out its power plants. Note the steep EM drop to almost 0. The Connie is excellent for ERTs because it can just launch missiles from a distance until the HH’s power is knocked out and the ship is disabled.
The Constellation was my everyday flyer, but after Corsair came out, I'm 100% Corsair. 🤤
Wait until the connie gets updated. you will be sorry.
meta be damned, the connie's best friends are Laser Cannons. Size 5's up top and size 4's down below. And then it doesn't matter how fast it goes because any NPC smaller than a Valk is dying before they get close enough to hit you, and valk isn't surviving a second pass. Then for your ERT's you can snipe the NPC Hammerhead by firing a single missile from 6 or 7Km away at each small ship to get them to approach you and get them outside the hammerheads bubble, spank them, then engage the Hammerhead kiting it at 2KM so it's repeaters cannot hit you.
I have done numerous ERT in the connie without taking a single hit.
That said ... I still sometimes roll with AD5B's up top and Rhinos on the bottom for more of a brawler style if sniping gets boring. But if you wanna make $$, fast, and with very low risk in the connie, get laser cannons. And get omniskys because they look better than MxA's and Light strikes :p
Just got to the part where you do the ERT. You may notice the barrels of your gatlings are sitting in your inventory as "placeholder Item" it happened to me a few times. Nothing for it, but to buy new ones.
Gotta try this loadout, havent played in a while (since 3.16) but i remember having 4x S4 gimbled C788's & it was insane, the explosive charge in the C788's rounds would bypass shields & destroy components, so after a few hits they would have no more shield generator or their powerplant would fail and they would tumble through space helplessly, dont know though if they nerfed it.
Keep in mind that "speed' is misleading as it only portrays ground level or space. Actually in atmosphere, where it counts the most, between 1.5K and 20k m in atmosphere, the Conny is about 2+ time faster then a Corsair (max attainable speed). The Conny is actually fast by every mean, as it can easily outpace any heavy fighter in game while in atmosphere
Camural did a good video with a spreadsheet to compare.
Not true hurricanes can run down a connie quite easily
@@Edsel1134 it is the only one, the Scorpius being slower. The Hurricane BTW is only nominally a "heavy fighter" being smaller then a hornet in size.
Anyway it's well known for being a fast Boom and Zoom jouster.
A curious fact is that the Connie is actually MUCH faster then the MSR in atmosphere at the moment, almost 100Km/s above 1500m. If you want an INSANELY fast ship carrying multiple crewmembers, the 400i is the one, able of 500+km/s at 1500m. Only the Arrow and the Hornet can do better, and just by a smidge.
I think things will change with aerodynamics and control surfaces implementation, but, at the moment, the data's on CIG site are totally meaningless.
Interesting. So it can flee easier.
But with its crap shields for its size, it would have to. On the other hand, the Corsair can't turn for shit.
The Connie Aquila is supposed to be faster than the Andromeda or the Corsair, haven't flown the Aquila yet so I'm not 100% on that . I like both ships too , the Connie looks better on the outside IMO but I prefer the Corsair's interior . The Corsair does pack more of a punch than my Taurus did , but both ships are more than capable . I side strafe and yaw to keep out of the line of fire and keep my guns on target , works well on both .
Indeed Aquila is 988m/s
The Aquila is indeed faster than both the Corsair and redeemer. It is the only Connie can boast this. It also, clearly, handles better too both in and out of atmo. I have both and I love both for different reasons.
Aquila also has a better view than the rest.
Thank you for this video, I’ve been looking for a Corsair Connie comparaison video for some time now. I’ve also picked the Corsair as my ship for now. Looking forward to your update of the comparaison once the Corsair gets tuned in future patch.
That's why I did it, because I've been looking for one myself and couldn't find one. Figured I wasn't the only one
Thank you for this!! Great content mate!
I Like Corsair - it flies in 3.18 better then before. Also i beat Vanduul and Pirat swarms in Corsair with just first try for both. And it is with me - not good pilot. So Corsair get his place in my hangar.
I like Connies also - Taurus more then others - but their interrior is so outdated - it is important for me. If we will get upgraid for that - i will buy Taurus in my Hangar also.
Great video by the way.
Great analysis.
You can fit a razor in the back of the Corsair too!
My brother has a Connie and my Dad has a Corsair, so I get a lot of time in both. I love both ships, and they definitely have different vibes.
I think I like the Connie better because it reminds me of Firefly, but it I were to buy one, I think I'd fly the Corsair.
They both have a lot character, it's such a hard choice.
Also there is no luxury version of the Corsair... Yet 😂
Thanks for the video keep up.
Connie TtK HH 2m24s
Corsair Ttk Hh was 49s
I was surprised when you said "might have been slightly faster but not much."
It was a blow out TtK victory.
Corsair is my daily and since 3.18 it handles just fine to me, it covers all my check list for what I want in a space ship. A lot of fun to chill on the roof in atmo eating a burrito with a view lol
For me, I choose the Phoenix. Has all the fire power, most of the cargo space, and all of the luxury.
Totally agree. Love the Phoenix.
@Night Shade nothing like taking a break in space by grabbing a drink from the bar and kicking back in a comfy chair next to the picture window.
A functioning hot tub will be the cherry on top.
@@Cronus_1 could not agree more. I love to hang out in that ship and also the 600I.
Well, I guess that means you're going to have to buy the black paint job for the Corsair now. ;) I like both ships. Kind of like you noted, I like the Connie because it looks like a Sci-Fi spaceship (Or as Chris Robert's instructed Ryan Church for the design, "A hero's spaceship.") But, I really like the interior on the Corsair, it makes so much more sense than the Connie's layout and the cockpit in the Corsair can't be beat by any Connie.
As someone that used to own a connie for a view years and now the corsair i enjoy the corsair way more and will never go bacl
Nice review, I enjoyed it. Plenty comments in here about Aquila which is what I fly so I won’t say anything further about that.
I don’t think the HH with your Connie was borked, you took out its shields and power plants before you even got within its range. That’s what I saw.
Connie can take waay more damage than the Drake and it’s build better. I also think the information display on the Connie is way better than the Drake. All in all, as expected.
For me, the Aquila is faster in a straight line (but if you’re talking anything less than 100 m/s it’s really not going to impact you), better looking as a space ship with a command deck rather than a cockpit, takes more damage and it has more flexibility than the Corsair (snub fighter and better cargo capacity). It was the first ship I fell in love with in SC too so I’m a bit biased 😉
Nice job. Subbed for more like this.
While it may not be as good as the Corsair in some things, the constellation is still competent in those things. The main reason I prefer the Constellation over other ships is the Taurus’ cargo hold of 174 SCU. This is VS the Corsair’s 72. I use it to move mined materials in conjunction with my prospector. I wanted something that can haul and defend itself, solo if need be. The Taurus is probably the biggest hauler that you can solo, that isn’t a strict hauler like the hull series. I can fill quantanium in 5/7 runs, several days of work, with my prospector from deep space and hall the whole load off to market in one run.
Yep, i'll second that + the Connies big guns are way behind, usually one gets shot from the front when jousting, so if even a S1 missile or a ballistic burst hits you around the cockpit without shields in the Corsair, those big guns are gone & the same with the wings that are really broad, if you get strafed from above or below either two guns or all ur missiles are gone.
Otherwise both are cool.
Also your tests was purely on the offensive/defensive, dont forget the 96SCUs of cargo space the Connie has compared to the 72SCUs of the Corsair.
I view the corsair as a pilot centric gunship with a cargo bay
corsair can carry a Pisces or Razor inside the bay for a snub fighter. and both are an easy fit too
I can't say much for the Andromeda but I owned a Taurus and loved that early on.
CCU'd my Taurus to a Corsair later though and love it (though thruster imbalance seems to be a common pain).
As for snub, I load a Fury into the Corsair. X2 Neutrons and X2 Disruptor Cannons, makes the Fury a lot of fun in atmosphere as I disable the opposition into the land below and follow them down nice and close to a point, keeping their systems dead.
As for the Corsair I run full Omnisky fixed and the damage is indeed amazing.
As noted though, for defense the Connie series wins hands down and I don't ever recall getting thruster imbalance much if at all.
Love the video and you are right, there is no good comparisons between these 2 ships. I REALLY wanted to like the Corsair! I got it right away upgrading from Taurus but right away as soon as I had some bounties or tried to go mine around in atmo I was so disappointed with the Corsair. I tried so hard to like it because I loved the look and Drake ships but when actually flying it, besides the insane guns it pales to the Connie’s. Have now swapped to the Andromeda and I am gutted but not sorry.
They are buffing the Corsair’s atmo performance in the 3.18 patch
@@Fire-Bound true but according to play testers it’s not that much different apart from not nosing down now. it also has 100k less hull HP than the Connie. With the changes to ballistics in 3.18 I’m still not sorry I changed. Between it’s piss poor atmo handling and blind spot and weak hull HP, it is basically a glass cannon. I would hedge a bet the snub fighter from the Connie could take it in atmo, which doesn’t sit right with me
@@tyrodinpainting Most people hate the corsair just cause they don't know how to fly ships. You need to treat it like a plane. Ik a lot of people dont understand flying but what I can tell you is that to effectively use this ship you gotta fly it well.
For example to pitch I strafe backwards. To turn I dont yaw, I roll into enemy. When i atmo I use vtol engines but when trying to escape I turn off vtol etc.
Charging boost is vital in corsair. I can turn and stop quickly on target using boost. Hence importance to use power triangle.
I found the best loadout to be all laser cannons on pilot controlled weapons.
With this setup, I was able to take out another bounty hunter who was in a connie after he got CS. He even tried running lmao. Corsair did a lot of dmg to it meanwhile the corsair itself didnt even lose shields.
I can guarantee you, corsair is a good ship. I can fit c8r in it and it has a mini med bay. I can fit ground vehicles in it to do buniers. I can use cargo refactor in it for e.g. to offload RMC from vulture to it.
It took me just 3hrs of learning how to fly corsair in-game doing ERTs. It's honestly saddening how people want everything to be easy to use and with no learning curve immediately without giving it a chance. If you tried to like it then respect to you but next time try asking other "pilots" in the game if they can help you.
Also if you're doing PvE then the way you approach and caryr out the mission will of course have a great impact. With a light fighter you can just blast into them and take them out all at once. But in a corsair you gotta play it smart. You have the fire power to shred in seconds, decent health and shields, and pretty decent manouverability. But if you get attacked by more than 2 ships then you've likely had it cause there's very little chance you'll be able to catch up with all of them before getting blown up. That's why I would fly 10km above the mission marker and then fly slowly down until I get radar locked and fly back up to space to be able to turn faster. Most of the time that also separates enemy ships, making it much easier. I usually end up shredding a ship before it even reaches me.
@@bray8949 I do get what you’re saying and I’d like to think I am an adequate pilot. Of course it is possible to do a lot of things in a Corsair flying it a specific way. I think my personal problem with it boils down to something very simple. IMO It’s just not fun to fly, take the MSR for example it has barely any firepower and only 1 entry and exit that is a pain to get from or to the cockpit. However it is fun to fly which is one of the reasons why it’s one of the most popular ships.
@@tyrodinpainting Then it’s because we have different opinions of “fun” to me. Being fun to fly for me is having a challenge. I definitely was satisfied with how my arrow flies and how it was easy to get bounties done. But it got boring pretty quickly. On the corsair I have to plan it more carefully. I also get a lot more satisfaction when killing a bounty using a corsair than when using something more maneuverable, like the MSR. I just don’t think the corsair is a bad ship. So many people hate it just cause they want something easier to fly. I get that the nose dip can be annoying to some but if I’m being 100% honest, I barely notice it. I’m used to keep my hands on the controls and maintaining a flight path. What’s a bit of nose up input going to do? You can argue that it gets in the way when in combat but that’s why I dont fight in atmo. In 3.18 it will be a bit reduced as well. Besides, it’s nothing compared to the nose dip of the cutlass series.
That`s why you need both of them...... That`s what i did.... i thing each one of them has its strengths... the constellation when im doing cargo missions, and the Corsair when im doing "Exploration" missions.
For me, there was no contest because long before the Corsair was concepted, I have hated the 'feel' of the Connies. I just do not like being inside them. I hate the layout and have never wanted to own one.
The Corsair feels great to be inside. It feels like a place you can live in long term. It is even better as a multi-player ship because the fact that every place you might need to be, eg turrets/cockpit/engineering/cargo, are so close together makes you feel like a crew instead of a bunch of individuals somewhere on the same ship. You can also happily gather & socialise in the mess or your rooms knowing that if there is an alert you can all be at your stations in seconds. Add to that the ability of the co-pilot to lock and launch missiles from the turret in all directions instead of just ahead. I do hate its terrible handling in atmosphere but I am not sure why people fixate on that as a combat problem as I very rarely, if ever, dogfight in a planetary atmosphere.
NOTE: The handling in Atmosphere is fixed in 3:18. It is currently about the same as a Connie.
I know I made a video on it
Nice vid. Good compare and contrast. I like the Connie more than the Corsair. It mostly comes down to looks as well as the hull HP.
The corsair is getting a decent little handling upgrade in 3.18 in atmo, you won't have to keep pulling up for one.
And yes, I tried to undock my snub and it got stuck. after that I logged out, came back to a glitch (clipped) snub fighter stuck vertically in the ass of my conni andro. can't seem to use it at all now, and I really wanted to test it out as (very) light support with my mates.
I did a video on its updated flight
Hi, for my opinion it really depends on what you want to do... If want something with carco space, definitely the Conni is better (sepcally the Taurus)
Thanks for your video. Do you try to undock the merlin from ther conni in th PTU already?
no i dont have access to a connie in the ptu but ill try to borrow one from a friend and try
Using gimbled weapons doesn't take into consideration one of the Connie's weaknesses. It's bottom guns are too low to ground to be switch with fixed size 5 guns where as Corsair can have all four of it's main weapons swapped for fixed size 5. I can't fully confirm but have heard this will be fixed on Connies in the future. ...Also when we are talking about too low to ground there is the Corsair's landing gear ...but I guess also the Connie's tenancy to nose plant every time you land less than 100% perfect.
The connie has better weapon placement though, less likely to lose the main guns that the Corsair has in the front, as you will get shot mostly from the front when the npc is jousting & losing one or all of those wings will take all ur missiles & 2 guns, so i think they are pretty balanced.
Yeah the missing S5 hardpoints on the Connie are a bummer, but i rarely used fixed loadouts on such slow ships anyway, gimbled is really useful to offset the slow turning speed a bit & to get more shots in to target before it strafes away, oh the good old C788 days, the Connie was only second to the Idris in firepower with those 4x S4 C788s with explosive rounds, 10 shots to take out a HH....
I've had both and in my opinion the Connie is significantly better.
The Corsair Is like a WW2 bomber inside and out.
It is better to have both of them, connie when you like hauling some black goo with David, the corsair when you been hearing star wars theme music.
Very nice video.
I have only one thing, Corsair atmo flight model in 3.17.4 is BROKEN with BIG B :). CIG is fixing it in 3.18. I tested it in 3.18 PTU, Corsair flies like a dream both in space and in atmo, no pitching down, no problems with turning/yaw. Don't get me wrong it still feels like a slug, but its a big ship, and you fly it no problem like you fly connie(in atmo).
I've heard. I planned on taking it out in the ptu in another video to test it. The it was just easier for me to do the comparison in live
Firepower is even more necessary on a exploration ship. No way to know what you may come across in the frontier 😈.
what one is best? which ever elevator works best.
Aw man, now I really want a conni, I’m trying to not pledge anything else but your making it hard not to man! And now I want the Corrsair!! I can’t watch your stuff anymore I’ll be broke 😂
half of the guys i play with, ive caused them to do the same lol Im not good for their wallets lol
You can't ignore the 174cu on the Taurus for erts, I've filled it up before leaving stuff behind, corsair can't do that, but it is close I'm gonna buy a Corsair soon
The s4 LaserC is worse then the s3 for some reason. Idk if you mention it later.. but the 4 s5 on the front of the corsair is insaneeee
Love my corsair, but it handles like a brick with thrusters in atmo. It has a bad nose drop and turns weird while in atmo as well.
You will be happy to hear that in 3.18 it will be getting a little atmo handling update.
@@RavingNutit was a meh update as far as i hear, a bit less dippig but still a brick, though a good looking one.
funny enough i agree with most of your takes but i actually hated the visibility coming to my corsair after trading in my connie, getting cut off below the horizon hurts me. Also a corsair pro-tip, you can no bullshit park a merlin in the cargo bay with zero issues for your boys if you want a snub.
better when ur ship comes with one. too bad it is bugged though
@@ahmedfarah4094 you aint wrong tho, does feel sleek to drop off the back when its workin.
I melted the Constellation Taurus and got the Corsair. For the Taurus I do have the Catapillar, so no need for the Taurus. The Corsair is in my opinion much nicer with much more interiour details, much more love going into the Corsair.
PS: And you know about flying in atmo with the extended wing? Much better!
As a guy who is currently using a Corsair, and has owned and used ALL of the Connies in the past I have to say I agree with ALL points made in this video. I love the Corsair, but I'm still in shock at how badly it behaves in atmosphere. I'm using it as my ride to bunker missions on Microtech, and boy is it a pain to maneuver. It's hard to even land this thing smoothly, since all it takes is a bit of wind for it to go bananas. They really wanted us to just use it just for piracy. Now, I don't care about piracy, so I will continue to use it for other things, but that shitty handling in atmosphere is a painful thing to live with.
Why do you pop so many flares? I feel like I pop a flare when they get close and I never get hit? Do you need to launch a bunch? I’m confused
On the corsair I'm hit all the time. The only time I'm not is when I pop about 9. But I think it also depends on missle type.
@@OneNutSupreme ah interesting, I have a Corsair but I usually fly around in my 325. Maybe the speed makes a difference because I’ve never popped more than 1
why would you change the missile loadout but not set up the corsair with 4 s5 canons and 2 s4 ballistic repeaters ?
because the corsair suffers without gimbals in terms of flexibility. id rather run it with size 4s and size 3s. also running cannons and repeaters mixes projectile velocity making the pip unstable and unreliable. I can get a consistent 1400m/s going gimbaled on all hardpoints and using laser repeaters. Ive one more fights setting it up that way than anything else
LOL Just cause you clicked 9 flares in a panic doesn't mean you needed 9 flares. I can run bounties for hours on end without going back to a space dock with my Corsair. Try using just 2 flares once the missile is closer and you'll be fine. They also fixed the nose down issue on the Corsair in the last patch. Slap on a military grade S3 shield and better quantum drive and you are set!
Corsair has better top speed, and better guns. Corsair is good if you can anticipate flight path. Or else it's too hard to control and you'll be a sitting duck in PvP. Corsair has a massive over turn, and is hard to correct.
Connie has better handling and more missiles. Connie is more forgiving. Aquila also has a rover for bunker missions, and phoenix has a snub fighter i think.
The only connie without a snub is the Taurus
@@OneNutSupreme thanks for the heads up bro.
Is the snub flyable or is it still bugged?
The aquila does 988
Great review comparing the combat capabilities of these two ships, but you gave no consideration for interior layout and amenities. The Connie's interior is quite dated and definitely needs an upgrade pass while the Corsair's interior stands head and shoulders above the Connie with individual crew quarters, a spacious work/mess area, and separate compartments for docking and component access. True that the Corsair gives up some cargo space compared to the Connie and does not have a dedicated snub, but with the release of the Mirai Fury (ILW 2953), you can choose to take a snub in the Corsair whenever you want. Since I do not generally focus on combat missions, I prefer the interior layout of the Corsair.
Idk, man. I always felt like the Connie handled better in zero g. I know it says it doesn't on paper, but it feels more nimble. And in the Corsair, I blow up A LOT. I mean, A LOT. Had a little mustang delta clip the tip of the wing and the entire ship blew up. It feels like the Corsair is waiting for an excuse to blow up. I don't get that with the connie.
However, I love the updated feel of the Corsair. The elevator to the roof, the lack of wasted space, the ramp instead of a cargo elevator make the Corsair awesome. But no one wants to be a turret gunner in the Corsair because of their low visibility. They'd rather hop in a connie turret.
Honestly, I wish Crusader would make an Exploration vessel comparable to these two. MSR is a cargo/data hauler. They need a dedicated exploration vessel and a capital ship.
Could be wrong but i think the aquila is faster. Should know because i own it lol
Hi sir , is this still relevant in master modes 3.23 ? When I take this to reddit , I'm getting lotta hate towards the Corsair !!
I would say no, it's not. Now, I honestly believe it's personal preference between the 2.
@@OneNutSupreme okay thanks 👍
Size 5 weapon in this game at current stage, has a lot more damage output than size 4 weapon, it seems like Size 5 is where weapons start to consider as 'anti-capital ship' level, like size 5 missile can start be called torpedo. Connie has 4 size 5 hardpoints but only 2 of those hard points can mount size 5 weapon, until this gets fixed, connie will not have a chance to catch up with corsair's damage output. If connie can mount freelancer MISs' custom made size 3 missile, it will be a lot more effective.
However, connie's size is smaller, I think it is the smallist ship that can use a large size shield, in space its control is similar to corsair, but in atom it functions a lot better (not using VTOL, if both ship fires up their VTOL connie will be even better in performence).
One more thing that I love connie more than corsair is its design, the air-locked elevator to be specific: it is easy to use and when you get out of your bridge room you are on top it, when you get up to your ship your bridge door opens at once. Everthing is so 'smooth' with the connie.
Since both ship are bad in PVP if you're doing it solo, unless you often fly with a crew of people, I would like to believe connie is more practical choice.
I upgraded my Andromeda to a corsair but I think I might revert it. I like the garage and firepower but thats it
Hi! why didnt you change the speed limiter to max? Both ships go faster but in the video you never changed past the "green / easy to maneuver" section?
Cheers
I dont change it. I turned the limiter off completely
Anything else over the Boresair . 😂
Connie all the way - a much more interesting and imaginative design. I own a Corsair for now and never fly it (I much prefer the Cutty Black for daily).
A lot of the missing hull HP on the Corsair vs Connie is because the Connie got a huge buff to the engine HP pool because they were getting shot off so easily. Unfortunately, the Corsair is going to need the same treatment, especially with the 3.18 ballistics changes...not that large ships will even be viable in 3.18 anymore. Even with PvE bounty hunting, you still get ballistic Buccs and stuff
ERT stands for Extremely Radical Time
Corsair has this starwars vibe with his folded wings. Corsair ist better.
If you want to remove gimbals and upgrade the size 4 guns to size 5, then the Constellation will fail for 2 of those guns, whereas the Corsair can upgrade 4 size 4s to size 5. If you want to be a turret gunner, then the Corsair is superior in what you can see.
Size 4 missiles are far more effective (if they hit) than are size 3, and size 3 are far more effective than size 2 (if they hit). Constellation missile racks cannot be modified or changed, and perhaps not the Corsair ones. Can anyone say if Corsair missile racks can be upgraded to fewer missiles of a size larger, or more missiles of a size smaller? I don't know if they are integral the way they are with a Constellation, but if Corsair missile racks can be customized, then you could easily exchange the size 4s for a lot more size 2s (but I would stick with size 4 since they are so effective...one MUST fire 4 of the size 1s or 2s of a Constellation to be effective...their actual total damage output from greater numbers is not as high as it seems compared to the fewer size 4s of the Corsair).
I can't wait till we can customize with the multitool welding things. I'd get a Corsair and cut off either the left 2 wings or the right longer wing, and replace it with a symmetric configuration after salvaging from another Corsair; or cut the Andromeda canopy off and turn it into something like the Corsair canopy. Better yet, make a copy of the ship Serenity (Firefly class) from the movie scene where they dressed it up to pretend to be a reaver :P🤣 Then again, if we could do that, then my sidearm would be a rail gun with a pistol grip and my main rifle would be an AD5B...
Keep in mind that when CIG will solve issue with weapons attached to landing gears, also constellation series will have full S5 options. They'll still lack other 2xS4.
...i allways wonder why all are complaining about connies cockpit, okay, strutts.but you can see arrount you, evenn downwards...in the corsair, the view downwards is COMPLETE obstructed, almost 1/3 of the screen is overlayed with mfd and cockpitstuff,it looks almost like a ww2 bomber..and still,in the conny is the view on the important mfd´s better,in my opinion...maybe some poeple like those ww2 bomber cockpit of the corsair,i prefer the connys struts, after all..the cockpit is the thing which ruins corsair for me...
But you didn’t do any movement IN atmo
The Corsair is ABSOLUTELY HORENDOUS in atmo
The vhrt is in atmo. But also check out my most recent corsair video on its atmo flight in 3.18
@@OneNutSupreme does it fly any different or better in 3.18? I’m about this >< close to melting mine. And buying something else. It is literally useless flying in atmo in .17. I heard they weren’t changing any of the flight characteristics of it in .18. So I’m hoping you’re going to tell me different. I love the ship, but if it doesn’t fly any better, I’m done with it
@AP R it's alot different. The nose doesn't dip down at all
@@OneNutSupreme well I may wait until .18 goes love to decide. Thanks
If Corsair had symmetrical wings, I'd fly it but hate the look of the ship. Like the firepower just can't get past the looks. I'd take my Andromeda over it.
It does look ugly if both sides had the big wing it be perfect
For the price... A Taurus wins. You could get a Taurus and a Titan or Taurus and a Med Pisces for the price of the Corsair.
I might of been a little slower to upgrade my Cutty to a Corsair if I knew the corsair was going to become more expensive than the Andromeda removing the ability to CCU to it. But at the time I thought the Andromeda was the cheapest Connie and I thought the Taurus would be the most expensive. I guess CIG just values the snub fighter more than I do. 😂 It will be interesting to see what exploration becomes and if the Corsair fits this role at all or what the Aquilla's scanner turret does.
Obviously the Corsair has that new factor where it's just better designed but I'm guessing the Connie will get some more love in the future.
My final problem is that when I grind VHRTs I found my loaner Buccaneer to be more fun than the Corsair and the Connie. :P
Redeemer with gunners all the way
Redeemer is a dedicated superheavy gunship. It _requires_ turret gunners. These two are multifunctional.
It’s not eurkl it’s erkul
first
I just feel like comparing these ships for bounties doesn’t make a ton of sense because they both kinda suck at bounties
To be fair, the Andromeda is supposed to be at least alright in combat. The real comparison would be with the Aquilla, but ya. It doesn't matter since the exploration gameplay loop doesn't exist yet.
Made millions on bounties in a taurus, very easy money.
Corsair maybe be described as an exploration ship, but it really isn't. Its more of an gunship and pirating ship. That's why I chose to put it up against the Andromeda.
@@deubie0211 yeah but I could technically make millions with an origin 100i but that doesn’t mean it’s a bounty ship, and it was also take a lot longer then a fighter
They are very good bounty ships
The problem with the Corsair is, well, look at it
No contest. In a fight the Corsair wins everytime. Especially with all deadbolts. I can kill a Connie in less than 6 seconds.
To bad you didnt do the test in the ptu since the corsair will get changes to its flying abilities. I still doubt it will be nimble but the atmo flying is def getting a fix. Both ships are good. Its literally pick your poison. Ofc all IMO. 🫡
I'll be testing the corsair in the ptu. I did this in live because it was easier to swap loadouts around and if I did die the loadouts save
Thanks for posting this! I was so disappointed when I started flying the Corsair that I hadn’t flown it in the PTU. It does fly much better, to me it’s now about the same as the Connie.
