Another unique feature of the Corsair is the copilot not only controls the remote turret at the rear (which can also fire on the same target the pilot is targeting) but can control the missile mode, and because they have the missile mode from the remote turret they can target and launch missiles on ships behind or to the side of the corsair
Copilot can also control the power distribution. It's a little janky requiring copilot to get seated before pilot but it does work
These are good points. I did not have my copilot with me for footage but you're absolutely right.
Dang, good to know! I'm rrrreally tempted to trade my LTI Prospector for a Corsair before ILW ends. I have a Vulture now and I like salvaging... did lots of mining over the last year. I basically see the Corsair as a much bigger, badder Cutlass. And I'm a hopeless Cutlass enjoyer.
Woah that is seriously impressive
I would read this right after I melt my msr for a Connie andromita. Enjoy the Andromita but all my friends ask why I didn’t just get a Corsair
Sorry Drake Fans but Idk if I want a Drake 🙃
Weirdly enough, the Reliant Tana can also use missile operator mode while manning the remote turret, making it capable of 360 degree missile fire as well. Too bad sneezing at the tana cause wings to fall off.
Before I got the Corsair, the 600i was my favorite ship, it was my "daily driver". After I got the Corsair, I traded in the 600i, because it was effectively obsolete. I liked the 600i because it had three size 5 pilot controlled weapons. Once I put four AD5B Gatling guns on the front of the Corsair, and destroyed a Hammerhead in less than 30 seconds, I fell in love. Corsair is now my daily driver, and favorite ship.
Yeah I've seen quite a few people using the Corsair to do some heavy damage, especially during the recent Nine Tails test event in the PTU.
You're going to be disappointed when the rework comes.
@@Victini0510 Dissapointed by what? S5 weapons is the first of STS weapons, meaning it's strong enough to tackle large ships and sub capitals. The Corsair has 4 of them and can stay out of range of the HH.
I like how they seem to be up to speed on building ships to be very good about the minor details that are put in. Things like the multi buttons on a switch, actually floodlights around the ship, and the different feel from not following along with other ships in class is always nice. Very Drake.
I am running a Corsair for over a month now, just love the ship, can do all sort of activities, absolutely packed to the teeth with amazing weapons, can fit an Ursa rover and a dragonfly in the cargo area. Nice vid btw❤❤❤
Yep, ships in this class are awesome for their versatility. Thanks for watching!
A good and fair video on the Corsair. I didnt get one because I too own a Connie and it does everything I need. Seeing the Corsair internal layout though gives me hope that the Connies will get a similar improvement later on once they get their reworks.
I had a Corsair and though it is a cool ship, the Connie is much better.
I love my Corsair, and the fact that the party I roll with is always 2-4 people it is effectively the perfect ship for the 4 of us when we want to multi-crew.
Yeah I think that's a good ship for that crew size. Glad you guys are enjoying it.
I like the way you review ships, NICE review for solo / daily pilots, thanks!
Thanks for the kind words.
You put a lot of work on these videos , I much appreciate it, Thank you!
Thanks for recognizing. Appreciated.
I love my Corsair, I find myself coming back to it when I have many other options. I often find myself switching between my MSR and the corsair frequently and am always happy when I get back to the corsair.
I adore my Taurus.
CCU'd to the Corsair during IAE because the Corsair is pledge only right now. But after flying her solo for a while, I really started yearnijg for my Taurus again. So I melted the Corsair and went back to my beloved Taurus.
What exactly made you trade back? Not knocking you, but currious. Was it the handling or low profile or just something else? Thanks for commenting.
@@CasaBLACK It was a number of things. While I like the large loading ramp/area in the rear & the bedrooms/elevator, my OCD just kept finding something 'off' about the look of the Corsair. And in the grand scheme, I can't afford both the Corsair & the Taurus. The Taurus, with the 174scu of storage is my go-to for moving my mined quant after a wipe. (or just in general) The handling was an issue, but not a major one. I also just overall love the look/feel/design of the Connie Taurus better. Other than the thick bars, it has my favorite cockpit of any ship in the verse right now. I just love the chair we sit in, all the buttons everywhere, I love the see-through MFD's (except for when they screw with the mobiglass) & I love the 3-chair cockpit with the chairs hung from the ceiling. The Corsair also felt a bit too big for a medium ship yet too small for a large ship. And there was nothing (other than bounty hunting) that I could do in the Corsair that I couldn't do equally well or better in my Taurus.
On a side note, the commercial they created for the Constellation is what drew me to Star Citizen way back in 2014. I couldn't wait to finally get a chance to fly that ship, although it seemed bigger in the commercial. 🙂
@@Zeoran Can't knock those reasons at all and I think overall even though I love the look of the Corsair, I think I'm with you and like the Constellation line more. I felt like I was flying a real starship as opposed to something that often feels more like an earthbound carrier. Thanks!
@@CasaBLACK The Constellation series just needs a good gold pass to bring it up to snuff with the latest ships like the Corsair. They need to thin out the rails in the main cockpit area like they started to for the Aquila & I'm sure they're doing with the Galaxy but the rest of the ship needs a bit of polish, especially the outhouse-like restroom/shower combo. Working storage lockers/gun racks would also be awesome. And they were supposed to get the collapsing table working again long before now. But overall, she's still one of my favorite ships & I really look forward to the immediate future when they get vehicle tractor beams into the game & I can just take my Taurus, land at a station/outpost, lower my cargo ramp, hop into the bottom turret, tractor real cargo into my cargo bay, retract, take off, land somewhere else, tractor it off, rinse & repeat. A nice, relaxing game loop for making money.
Really good review! Tempted to get one of these before ILW ends (in other words, today). I've been enjoying the rental of it a lot, pretty great balance of everything.
This might help, with salvaging those larger weapons and future components its way better and more reliable than the Constellation class ships making it the best for that as well in that size/class. I literally ditched my Taurus over this last week.
I love the Corsair. It feels 'right'. Another point for the Entry of the ship is that in zero gee you can also enter via the roof lift entrance. That is a very cool feature. One thing I can't stand is the stubby landing gear makes it hard to land on rough terrain. For an explorer I think that is a big drawback. Also, it has a VTOL engine that makes atmo flying easier. Thanks for the Vid! ♥
absolutely LOVED the review man thanks
She's a beast and hope it helped you make a good decision. :)
i melted the Connie Andromeda for my Corsair, which i have not regretted even for a moment, and tbf it was made even easier to decide after i had already died so many times just trying to use the snub on the connie...
the right loadout for the Corsair, can make it even more worth the change, but yeah i totally agree even stock the setup is pretty good allowing you to make more money without needing to start throwing aUEC into upgrading
thanks CasaBlack for sharing this.... awesome review/tour
Thanks Shane and since I did not use the snub version I cannot speak to that, but loved my Taurus for daily play. Like I said, will I own the Corsair again? I think so, unless nostalgia kicks me in the ass but nostalgia can only get you so far.
@@CasaBLACK you are welcome CasaBlack :) yeah i had the Taurus before i upgraded to the Andromeda, was a welcome change to the screams of my aUEC wallet which rapidly depleted when i had the Retaliator, damn those torps are expensive lol.... yeah i think going with a ship that suits your play style and which you feel comfortable flying, is the more important part of that question, and would be my response to anyone else who is considering grabbing the Corsair or any ship for that matter, imo the Corsair is a little better at maneuvering than the Connie but that lack of cargo space is quite the hinderance if anyone is after a jack of all trades... or favours hauling.... box missions are not bad with it though and either solo or fully crewed up she's a fun ship to use. but i do agree with you though....
for me though there's just something about the Corsair that drew me in and had me hooked off the bat....
@@shaneedwards596 Hey in the end my reviews are strictly one-sided and also subject to change and I'm not afraid to admit it if I do change my mind on something. I might get back into the Taurus and be like oh yeah I miss the Corsair. The Corsair did sort of fit like a glove to me, especially when landing or getting about in atmo. Before I had much experience with it I was hearing all of these people complaning about how bad the Corsair handled and I figured it was going to be way worse that it actually was and I think most of those people just were not used to flying the Connie's. Anyway in the end its all about what suits you so no judgment here!
@@CasaBLACK yeah I do enjoy the type of reviews and ship tours that yourself and a couple of other youtubers do as i feel the more neutral and personalised the way you do.... like you give your opinion but dont set it in stone for other people... i respect that...
and yeah I heard a lot of negativity about the Corsair and a fair few other ships oddly i put those down to personal preferences to those people... which is ok, everyone likes or dislikes things and such which is ok.... and tbh i feel more at ease in sluggish ships as apposed to very agile ones or huge capital ships, in fact only agile ship's i've ever enjoyed flying is the Arrow, the Cutty and the Avenger :)
and i totally agree... as it should be... :)
@@shaneedwards596 Thanks a bunch, means a lot. My Nomad review is one where I kind of was a bit more sour on a ship than I have been on most so that might be a flawed one, but for the most part I try to see it from all angles and offer up things that are positives even if it's not something I myself am impressed with.
Got the ship a few days ago love it the power is great and can carry 10 people 4 navy crew and 6 Marines for attacking ground based
I love when a ship is being used outside of its designs and thats a great use!
Great commentary, I like the pacing here too.
Appreciated, trying to keep things concise and to the point and moving.
Corsair is so odd in that it came out well balanced right out of the gates. If it picks it’s fights it feels overpowered but a lapse in judgement can be deadly as it has plenty of vulnerabilities to go with its strengths. The whole internal design makes sense and it’s a multicrew ship that actually beacons for a crew to enjoy it. The pilots cabin is brilliant! Talk about get up and go! As for weapon loadout I’ve tried a few things but find that currently all gimballed laser repeaters is the most overall useful.
They said that from all the ships that they are releasing.
They release then to "gold" standard and try to balance then the best they can.
Love the Corsair. My buddies tried to make me play the game for years but I refused. Had the Cutter first, which is also great, but decided to upgrade to Corsair for teamplay purposes and more pew pew. It's a multy role ship which fits exactly what me and my buddies are doing. And it's pure eye candy and great sound design in my opinion.
Definitely great as a multiplayer and there's just something awesome about all being together, even if things go wrong its cool as hell. I was in a group in a hammerhead and it exploded with half the crew inside, the other half were making our way over to the station entrance while it was being parked and it was hilarious.
I love my Corsair. Bought it during Invictus and it was worth the wait. Only improvement I’d like to see is a slightly longer landing gear so I’m not rubbing my belly on the ground. Other than that. It’s perfect.
Nice video, It was a good and fare break down. I personally love my Corsair and have been waiting a few years for it. It was everything advertised so I was not disappointed with what was delivered. In fact wowed by how great they did with its internal layout and flow. I love the elevator having two external exit points.
The handling in atmosphere needs to be addressed considering it is a winged vessel and should fly better than non-winged ships in atmosphere or at least handle better than it currently does. That and the nose down drag that it gets when flying forward. Over all it is a great ship and I am very happy to finally have it in game. o7
Curious what you flew before as your daily driver before the Corsair. I definitely like the Corsair and the nose dipping was an issue, but that's sort of a Drake thing and with sticks I just sort of am used to nosing up due to that and as far as atmo goes, like I said, I hate the Carrack in atmo so the Corsair is so much better in regards to that and with my Taurus experience I guess I am just more used to flying a ship that is slow to roll or turn, but like you said the Corsair has wings and should probably handle a little better.
@@CasaBLACK prior to the Corsair my daily driver has changed a few times lol. From the mighty Avenger Titan to the Cutlass Black, which was the first ship I earned in game. I got into trucking and the Caterpillar became my go everywhere do everything ship.
Then along came the infamous 400i and I was everywhere in that for a few patches. The Scorpius was introduced and I was able to do bunker missions and bounties with it and it was my go everywhere ship. And now here we are.
These are just the main ships I flew all the time when I obtained them. I have been playing in the verse for a few years now and have earned the majority of ships at one time or another.
@@CasaBLACK I fly with a HOTAS setup myself. Granted my first year of Star Citizen I was still using a keyboard and mouse. I played ED for years and had already been wanting a stick and throttle setup.
@@famousblack05 I just switched over to HOTAS myself in June of this year.. So much better.
@@famousblack05 Yeah if you did not really fly the Connie's I think I see where you're coming from in terms of the atmo handling. I mained a Taurus the last few months so when I got into Corsair it was like being home again.
Good review, thanks! I like my Connie Phoenix for now.
Corsair was not a ship I was expecting to enjoy, but it quickly became a favorite. For anyone with a Corsair, try replacing the pilot weapons with all fixed ballistic cannons. I was astonished at how quickly it shreds Hammerheads. It also sounds amazing when you put the cannons on stagger fire and hold the trigger.
Which cannons?
@@Hypnobong Deadbolts, all around.
@@casket-crew 🙏
I have one, I bought it, I love it, I think it is the best all around ship besides maybe a Connie
My thoughts exactly.
This is what the Connie series should look like inside. If the Corsair's aesthetics didn't bug me so much (mostly because the wings are just so damn big it doubles its cross section) it would be about perfect. This coming out so close to the 400i makes you wonder what happened to that ship. This is just so much more viable in every use case than the 400i for less money.
I have the corsair & have fallen in love with the ugly duckling. As a solo player it is perfect for what I do in-game (as a leg amputee, I'm kind of accustomed to asymmetry, lol). The one real puzzling thing for me was the wing placement in regards to the docking collar. Based on the clearances, it would have made much more sense to swap the wings around (unless folding the wings is required to use the collar).
That is an excellent point about the docking collar and one I had not considered. I really like this ship as well and have been really leaning toward getting it back lately. Trying to stay strong with my wallet though, but we'll see which one wins out, lol. Thanks for taking the time to share!
What the Corsair does better than any other ship is long-range multi-crew role play. Yes I know that on paper several ships have the same or higher crew counts and similar or better range but I am talking about the actual experience of living and working together as a crew. Having those four rooms next to the crew area with no need to navigate corridors and elevators to get together or reach your battle stations is lovely. They also all get their own personal storage space in lockable rooms. I am so sick of trying to navigate corridors and ladders to find the turrets or the engineering or the bridge. There are several ships of a similar size where I honestly could not tell you how to get from the bridge to all the gun positions and a few where I struggle to work out how to find my way out (eg the Mole) ;-). On a slightly smaller scale, the 400i is not bad for 3 person multicrew gameplay though with much smaller cargo and vehicle capacity.
I cannot deny that the handling is dreadful and that when flown solo it will beat a small fighter but it is frustrating and takes a while. Its behaviour in atmosphere is hardly better than a caterpillar but almost all my atmospheric flying is going to spaceports and outposts so I rarely notice the handling. Where it will really excel is in sheer DPS on large less maneuverable ships (so yes Piracy). I am really looking forward to using it in the next Xenothreat event because that basically needs a freighter with a ramp to load boxes onto and get them back to INS Jericho then a hard hitting damage dealer to help take down the Idris. It seems custom made for that and maybe the 9-tails event.
Little features that I love include that powerful light beneath the ship to help with landing at night as well as that rear floodlight for night-time loading. They seem to expect it to be doing a lot of clandestine jobs away from floodlit areas or maybe just dropping off vehicles for bunker runs. The ability for the co-pilot to lock missiles on a target that is not in front is very nice.
this aged well, you predicted a new skin, and tbh 2953 bis for corsair is crazy good looking! bought an lti today, quite happy, this coming from someone who really disliked this ship 1yr ago. 🤷♂
the beauty of the game is that our opinions can change over time if we're brave enough to admit it that is.. I was not a fan of the Nomad, but slowly over time learned to appreciate and enjoy it..
It was a must, but with ballistics broken intentionally before armor, it's a sitting duck.
An Arrow with scatter guns kills it in 20 seconds.
I wouldve liked some type of advanced scanner on the corsair, for just a bit more of the exploration capability, but thats just something i havent seen yet, as i just upgraded mine from my cutlass.
On a sidenote, is the secret flask unlimited in booze?
I had the Corsair for a couple days. It was ok but I decided to upgrade it to the Constellation Aquila and I like that ship so much more. The handling in my opinion is much better on the Aquila and I dig the Star Trek vibes.
It should have had a remote belly turret, instead of two side turrets. Side coverage would be less, but it frees-up a fourth player for engineering/other work, or let’s you get by with fewer players (both of which make sense for exploration/piracy). Letting the co-pilot fire missiles using the rear turret is a great feature… would love to see that on more ships.
Yeah I like the idea of the belly guns vs how they are now, but I guess they wanted it to have weakpoints.
I own one and i absalutly love it
There's a lot to love and I think at the moment for its size class it's the smoothest in terms of everything working well and easily has the best layout. Great ship overall.
Agreed I replaced the main repeaters with s4 attritcions
Why no mention of the remote rear turret?
I personally love my Origin 400i (needs S5 hard-points on the nose for the pilot) but I love that the corsair exists. It’s great in space but in atmosphere the corsair really falls flat. The 400i will definitely be much better in atmosphere and for exploring with its speed, but the corsair in space (pyro anyone?) will be a force to be reckoned with!
In atmosphere you have to fly the Corsair like a plane. Roll, pitch up and boost into turns and it can actually turn very quickly for its size. The nose suddenly pitching up or down when you're trying to stay level though is a bug and I think CIG has said they have a fix for that coming in 3.18.
@@Archmage9885 I think that was my point is that I don't see a problem with how the Corsair flies in atmo, you just have to understand that it's different. Same with the Taurus and even the Carrack, it's all about knowing the ship.
Yeah I think Pyro is going to rewrite what everyone flies and considers their daily driver and I'm here for it!
For what it’s worth, I upgraded from a Taurus to this because I got tired of the way the Connie lands, face planting and rocking back and forth on uneven ground. Also, the ship is high off the ground, so when you get out, leave to a bunker, then get back to the ship, more times than not it’s floating above the ground just higher than where the ramps come down and you can’t get back in. Also also, less storage means I waste less money trying to trade and it getting wasted due to game glitches.
The floating ship is definitely a thing especially for larger ships which is weird because you would think those would be nailed down to the surfaces better due to weight but games do not work that way so they are just bigger targets to be swept up. It surprises me how often this happens with the Carrack.
Turn off your engines simple prevention
@@flamebreaker7318 when it works…
I realize that they needed to fold the wings in order to shrink its footprint- otherwise it wouldn't fit into any top-load or front-load hangar openings. And CIG wanted to trend towards hangaring ships to curb pad-ramming and to move forward with a more closed environment for cargo loading. BUT...look at the wing roots both outside the ship and inside the cargo area. They designed in obvious massive rotating rings that would have given the Corsair massive pitch capabilities! But I guess they painted themselves into a corner with the big wingspan and the wing rings and had to decide on either one or the other. Or, could we have both?!?
Yeah the wingspan works well aesthetically, but it definitely leaves something to be desired in terms of maneuvering, but I still like the ship.
I wish the long wing had a size 5 on it instead of the boom looking thing. Does anyone know if that is the boom for refueling?
Honestly I did not even look for where it refuels. Most are in the front somewhere and I believe the Cutter might have one on the side for possible ground refueling later, but yeah not sure. Good question. Hopefully someone here knows.
I personally love my corsair, I have the Connie andromeda an personally I prefer the corsair over it, the extra firepower is nice, along with the extra turret it has, all be it the turrets could be in better places, but over all it has become my daily driver as of right now, and I find myself using it more than I do than my Scorpius, which is saying a lot cause I flew the Scorpius everywhere lol
I do like both and with more time might actually end up preferring the Corsair over the Connie, at least until the Connie gets revamped and then I'll probably be up in the air again. I also happen to like MISC ships with Drake, RSI and MISC being my 3 favs so if they come up with one that is around this size, which I doubt since the Galaxy will be a thing now, but if they did I think it would be a hard decision to make in that $250 range.. Thanks for sharing!
I bought the upgrade from my Taurus, rented the Corsair on the IAE and... Nope. I'm not applying it. You have to fight against the ship in atmo (unlike the Taurus) and, as is said in the video, the damage upgrade is not that great. Besides, the Connie has a lot more hull HP. I concur that there's not a real reason for an upgrade. Excellent review, by the way.
Thank you for the kind words and yeah it will be interesting to see how this shakes out after that new ship smell wears off.
you missed the remote turret in the rear
It'll really be a 5 person ship late next year: 1 pilot, 1 Co pilot, 2 turret gunners, 1 engineering/cargo operator.
yeah thats what I was thinking, the 4th feels like they could be a dedicated engineer assuming their body doesn't get slung around.
You can also enter through the roof elevator door
I was going to pull the trigger and upgrade to the Corsair from my Taurus. But I just like the Taurus better, not that I daily drive it and I figured I wouldn't be daily driving the Corsair either for pretty much the same reasons. Neither one is big enough to do reasonable trade unless your purpose is moving refined quant, which I don't do since prospector mining is my least favorite way to earn money. I wouldn't bother doing bounties in them since I have a fighter. I don't bother multi-crewing. So when I trade I use my caterpillar and for everything else I use my Cutlass red or a fighter.
In addition, I've always thought of the Taurus as an RSI version of a Drake ship. It's got a (planned) tractor beam, it's got shielded cargo, and it can do some damage from the pilot seat. The only problem is I think it need another redesign to access that rear cargo once they do the refactor
@@RecklessFables Nice to see some Cat love because I just knew you were about to say that you were running cargo in the Herc as many seemed to switch to after it came out.
And yeah you're right, RSI does in many ways feel like the slightly next step in class to the Drake which is probably why I like RSI as well and MISC sort of fits that bill for me as well although I am not a fan of the looks of the Freelancer.
I wonder just how shup tractor beams are going to work, especially with the older ships that were designed before they really had every gameplay loop mapped out so that should be interesting. Thanks for commenting and as usual, good to hear from you.
well corsair vs taurus has a big difference regarding the visibility from cockpit, even aquila is better but not great. all those beams are just nonsense and need a review. as for the rest I agree with ur review
Yeah the struts are a known issue they want to change.. It will be interesting to see how things get shook up when a constellation gold standard happens..
U forget about the remote turret controlled by co-pilot
For me it just need an actual Co-pilot. And an increase in the Landing Gears
NPC co-pilots will be in game at some point with rumors they might be working on some of that soon.
@@CasaBLACK yeah but I mean, an actual co-pilot seat, because the one we have, need to share with the remote turret, and it is hard to do Shields + turret because you need to come out of the turret camera, yada yada.
@@duramirez ah got it, yeah understood.
Yeah had it but got rid of it, I hate how it flys and it’s too low to the ground tending to lean to the side when landing so annoying! I’ll stick to my Taurus. I do love the ramp tho, plus anyone can steal it! The side lift doesn’t lock.
I am not sure what I will do in regards to this ship yet if I will get another one or just stick with the Taurus. You aren't wrong though.
Is a nice ship. If only the Pisces git without faffing.. they deffo made sure it only just didn't fit normally
Yes it is sooo close to fitting :-) Another 30cm (1 foot) and it would fit.
Interestingly enough I think I like the most about the corsair is it shows how out of date the Connie's are. It's not a bad chef but I do like the Connies more and would rather them get a rework.
Oh yeah, pretty much most of the ships past 2-3 years old feel outdated when you fly them and you can feel the newer standards getting better.
the biggest change the Corsair needs is bigger fuel tanks. it's blasphemous that it's fuel tanks are the exact same as the Cutlass Black's. the QT fuel could use some increases too, but most mid-size exploration ships have easily 3-5x as much fuel on top of sturdier hulls
Pretty sure with Pyro we're gonna see some changes in fuel and tanks.
I hope they don't nerf the guns because it's balance due to it's flight
I wouldnt be surprised but we'll see. There's some atmo flight changes coming that might help the Corsair so lets hope they dont nerf it and it gets better atmo flight :D
@@CasaBLACK Honestly if they keep the nose guns but remove the wing guns id be okay with that, this is the ship ive been waiting for and i could never buy another ship for real money, if they tak away from its offense ill probably melt it for something else
hey i upgraded from the tarus to this ship haha.
Nothing wrong with that and until the Connie's get a gold pass, this is probably the better ship for the majority of players.
The cool thing is that historically pirate captains were elected by the crew so they didn't own the ship and were simply crewates who decided the course of actions.
In that sens the captains bedroom being the same as the crewmates subtely imply that this really is A SHIP FOR PIRATES.
Nice hidden message Drake interplanetary.
Yeah I mean I must have a pirate's heart because the whole time I was doing my Carrack video I was like how messed up is it that the Capt has this crazy nice room and yet the other crew mates all bunk together? I mean granted the crew quarters is nice, but there's definitely that military captain is too good to be with the men vibe on that ship which I do not like personally. Thanks for that bit of info though I did not know that was how they traditionally did it. I just happened to really like that the Corsair's capt bunk was pretty much the same as the others.
The Connie needs a GOLD PASS badly. :-)
If 20 seconds is too long a time for people to get to their cockpit, they should stick to single seaters. Also the asymmetry of the Corsair isn't true asymmetry. The cockpit is still sentere, it's just got added bits and bobs. The only real asymmetric ship in SC right now is the Caterpillar.
Disagree but okay and thanks for commenting.
I have a connie aquila. Now I also have a corsair. It's rather an ugly ship but I kind of am in love with the corsair.
I like the looks of both ships, but I'm not a fan of how low to the ground it is but still a great ship!
Only ship i need once you learn how to fly it it can do anything
Flight model for the corsair is very broken. Thrusters buyers need to be redone aswell.
Flys better in at o with wings folded up. But there's no mass in ac or aero dynamics. It's just engine dampening. Sadly
Yeah I think with the wings out it should definitely be able to handle noticeably better than the Connies which do not have wings, even though the wings on the Corsair do not really make sense for realistic flight. Let's hope there's some adjustments coming soon.
@@CasaBLACK yup and the Connie handles better in every way has 75 percent more hull ho higher tip speed and acceleration and can't turn.
Thr corsair can't even turn in atmosphere.
Most of u should also realize no one's getting Pyro till server meshing and Pyro will be yrs or 5 later late
@@mikenunn8696 The Corsair can turn, just not how a Connie turns. Rolling to the side, pitching up, and firing your bottom thrusters to assist allows you to turn quicker than a Connie in atmo. Also on paper, the Corsair has faster acceleration than the Connie in every axis besides pitching upwards
@@rayaan6951 exactly it's broken its smaller then a Connie and handles worse in Avery way has 3 ^^^ wings . That do nothing cuz they're no aerodymanics mechanics
Are 'combat speed' and 'max speed' for the new flight modes coming in a fire patch or do you mean SCM and top speed?
Also, I really like your metrics that's your testing; access points and how long it takes to use them, storage, etc.
Heads up, if you lock the pilots bunk room from the inside and lay down, when you stand up again you walk through the locked door (no clip style due to animation) and cannot unlock it from the outside. You have been warned... Zooted, I'm still sorry for locking you out of your room buddy LMAO
lol damn thats great. SCM and top speed but yeah this metric will change soon. I have literally added those different things to the reviews due to commenters saying things like "yeah but X ship sucks because it takes a minute to get to the pilots seat." so I decided it was needed. Thanks for commenting and for the capts quarters tip!
@@CasaBLACK I love that metric, I'm going to ask CIG to add it to ship specs. TTPS (time to pilot seat).
@@crispy9175 Hey, I like that abbreviation.. Might just steal that for my graphics on that section. ;)
@@CasaBLACK haha, that's awesome. See you in the verse o7
One Remote Toret failed !
Hate when people want nerfs. Those people dont use those ships. Then every one hates that ship making it a hanger queen for years
Yep, the poor Ares and Ions - RIP :(
Even though the Corsair is not a combat ship, I certainly don’t want to fuck around and find out with one packing 4 size 5 deadbolts… no thank you.
13:30 dead whale on a beach
40 thrusters? Really? I seriously doubt that, without flying one btw. But as far as I've seen this lady flies like a wet brick.
it does fly rough, but maneuvering thrusters can be super tiny for stabilization or rolling etc. The Pisces C8R has 16 so is it that much of a stretch to see the Corsair with 40?
@@CasaBLACK good point
Nope... I hate the design...especially the blocky body shape of the ship... The 600i makes more sense with more solo DPS...and looks so much better...
No judgment here mate, to each their own.
More SoloDPS? 3 x S5 vs 4 x S5 + 2 x S4 is definitely a point for the Corsair.
Start asking for the money back that you paid so that you can see how quickly they update the game
Major torque imbalance
Really don't like the Corsair. I'll stick to my Carrack
The Carrack isn’t comparable to the Corsair, completely different class
I've have the BMM for so long I was thinking about melting it and pleadging towards a galaxy, and then having a loaner of the Carrick. But the thing just takes to long to reach that Dam cockpit.
I'll keep my Corsair for now.
@@davewills6121 Yeah the Carrack is a huge mess and was confusing for me until I had to shoot footage for a review and then realized I needed to give each section of each floor its own clip and then ended up with over 10 clips and after taking like 3 hours to cut together just the interior tour for that video I was pretty much nauseated by how well I knew that interior. I definitely prefer the Corsair's new one floor design especially for this size ship. So refreshing, but again, I think thats why I also like the Taurus, same one floor design.
@@davewills6121 Yeah I feel like Drake ships are what my budget would be like if I lived in the verse for real, lol
