@@leiffitzsimmonsfrey4923 No, nothing that smart on my part, Smalland radar lasts 20 secs, I waited to pop it till we were 20 secs from winning on points.

At the end there I had already used the damage control parties available to me :( Clapping that other Kremlin was particularly satisfying though! GGs 5D!

Thought you did pretty well to be honest, Kremlins accuracy (or lack of it) can make it not that great against DDs in my experience (my skill level also applies!) and I think even by Kremlin standards you were unlucky to not hit the Smaland more than you did, only a few more hits and it could have made a difference. Plus you didn't really have any other choice other than to engage him it wasn't like you could break contact and not be burnt down in the time. Must have been nice devstriking the other Kremlin!
The torpedo prediction at 11:50 was pretty insane
Always predict the turn. I do the same thing pretty often.

I'm betting the Montana wasn't informed by the DD on his team where the radio locator was pointing or was told too late to turn around as he tried to cover B.
Our monty is a newer player. Push Harder(PH-D, PH-PL) works to train players by putting them in direct contact with typhoon level players off the bat. It’s had remarkable success. This team here has several guys that are new to CB’s led by our experienced ones.
Monty was taking north of A side Island incase Smalland headed that way.

Who the hell *is* this General Quarters and why is he mentioned in every battle in a navy game?!
He's in charge of all hands but no feet.
You have to remember there is also a Marshall Dollars and Private Nickels out there, somewhere.
Often WoWs matches are filled with General Failure, but for Blazen's team, this one was a Major Victory.
General Quarters is the nickname for the officer in command of the marine detachment on board a warship in the British navy. Named after the quarterdeck where he was often to be found, he was called a general regardless of his actual rank, as that was found to satisfy the overinflated egos of these officers, who, in the good old days of the Napoleonic wars, mostly were landed gentry who paid for their commissions.
(just kidding, in case that wasn't obvious)
No Generals in the navy, however... Might be an on-board marine, with his adjutant Major Problem and enlisted clerk Corporal Punishment.
Wish more matches were of this quality, rare phenomenon.
In my observation, it is Montana that goes in C-cap
and Yueyang with full smoke goes towards A-cap.

Its amazing how in this game, being outnumbered in a small, lonely destroyer just means you get to have fun in a target rich environment, rather than an auto loss

You mean he went south from the last known position? Because Dave is literally on the northern end of cap A
That Montana had LOTS of time to get to that cap.
@@wesfudge You say that but it is a clan battle, while he had time while he was in the middle he may have been told to go to C to decap and often times in clan battles it is just "follow the commander's orders, even if they are wrong, and let them take the heat for a loss"

looks like the Montana was just on the other side of the island to the left, according to RPF. He probably hadn't counted on Blazing being that close to the mouth, and close to that island, can't lob shells overr when he got spotted.
Daaaaaamn, 5D still around. I was in their KotS team years ago. We didn't do great but it was fun.
My guess is the montana was pointed the wrong way and by the time it got turned around there was not enough time for it to get over before he would win on points so ONLY their last destroyer had the speed to attempt the kill but they both knew both of them have radar and the montana doesn't have an angle into the cap circle to provide probably only one salvo that may not even make it there in time, RPF says the guy is clearly loitering within spotting range of the gap so knows they are coming so it is low health DD with radar vs low health DD with radar and one is lying in wait and the other has no choice but to meet him.
That is why there were GGs from the enemy team in chat before the Yyueyang was even spotted, they knew no matter what happened the game would be decided in seconds.

Judging from the last spotted marker for the Montana, it was pointed in the opposite direction. I suspect ran aground tying to turn back towards A.

Monty would have been way behind the Yueyang. He was facing the other direction when last spotted so he had to turn around. The rpf also showed him off to the left of the yueyang at the end. So it could have been likely he turned around and was heading back in the middle. Its also a BB and even if it's "fast" it isn't quick.

Smaland is the most OP dd out there, hands up or down.
The range of the salems radar is actually 8.5
kind of an atrocity, with 9 it would still be kinda good.
i thought i'd heard that name somewhere before... interestin to run into video subjects in the wild.
My main issue with Smaland is it's suceptibility to damange if you're playing it you need to be very careful to take engagements on your terms with enough islands to protect you, support to overwhelm your target or at least provide the enemy with alternative targets to distract incoming fire. All of this is standard gunboat dd of course but if you get hit in Smaland you can't stand up to much incoming fire and no smoke to escape into, good ship but I don't think it's a great ship and high skill floor and ceiling.
Could have been a GoT to be fair. Greens made moves noone can explain.
What would be good is the battle like this shown with the voice comms too.
So people can see what goes on in a good game with good team work.
Chances are the Monty. Was hoping too stay at range. And take advantage of it's railguns.

Montana was facing away from him, if the Montana turned right he'd have had an unobstructed line of fire at the end there. However, going all the way around that southern island would take longer. I'm betting the Montana turned left and looped around the center island hoping to get to Alpha slightly faster. Unfortunately for him, Blazen's position put a mountain in the way of that approach and the Yueyang got there too quickly and had no support.

English speakers, please stop defaulting to pronouncing Å's as A's. The ring over the A is there for a reason. But don't despair, I will help you. It's very simple, an Å sounds like the o in "born."
It's the same with ö's, the umlaut is there for a reason, so it does *not* sound like an o. But again, it's simple, an ö sounds like the u in words like duck, suck, or luck or the i in girl. It's the same with ø's, same letter and sounds the same, ø is the Norwegian one and ö is used in Swedish and German.

You must be new here! hahahahahah English-speakers pride themselves (in) mispronouncing foreign words and names. They are equally unashamed by their inablility to learn any foreign languages. All these while conquering a big part of the planet and at least traveling the rest of it. Mr. Jingles here is one of finest examples. Cheers!

At the end, I was wondering why he didn't fill the gap with torpedoes.
I'm guessing the Montana hadn't appreciated the points situation and that he'd loose on points, possibly he was the one capping the other cap as you said if the yeuyang had done the cappign the monty might not have been keen to take the Smaland on on his own (although 12 accurate 16" HE rounds are pretty nasty for a fairly squishy essentially gunboat dd to face). My best guess is that by the time they realised it would be all over on points he was too far away to help the YY. You can criticise him for that but if he did cap the other cap then had he not the game would have ended on points a lot earlier and even the YY wouldn't have made it in time....
Always get so jealous when I see Smaland replays, Its the one ship I want more than anything but its also one that i'm not likely to ever get. Ragnar is a nice gunboat for fighting cruisers, but is painfully bad vs good destroyer players unlike the Smaland

Since the Salem only gets an 8km radar or the Hydro (not both like Des Moines with 10km radar and hydro) I run Hydro with the extender time mods/flags/skills

Jingles when you were saying the other team would win on points, they had 250 points to go and he had 110 points.
during the whole talking about the smaland, all i was thinking about was WTF is their tactic ^^
It was the Kremlin that could have turned this game. If he had to survived for 40 more seconds inside the A-cap then the enemy team would have added 60 points to their final numbers getting them to 1000 points when Blazens team "only" had 995. This might have been possible if he had angled down south in the cap. However, it is easy for me in retrospect to say this. The main aspect was that it was a really close game with a lot of action. Well played by both sides.

Well jingles i would love to see after some times gone/past some of your gameplays (its not a hate, but its in wot and wows kinda uninteresting for me itself since its always determint replays, and i would love to see you play wot or wows yourself by time to time for a change)
Problem with WoWS is massive powercreep.
So many late introduced ships have torps it would seem.
Not just destroyers, but cruisers and even battleships.
I returned with my 8 year old account after a 5 year absense in my south carolina only to get smoked by so many torp carrying ships.
How is this game fun again?
