If the owner wasn't feeding the dog, then animal control should have been able IMO to just take him and charge the owner with animal neglect. I'm glad that he was rescued.

@@plaidpanda No such thing as a no kill shelter, sorry to report. I live in a county, one of the most expensive in CA, and they euthanize dogs who have behavior issues. Still considered "no kill" though. And seriously, I should take all dogs that are on this path? Is that actually what you are saying here?

I know how she feels. I went through a similar situation. It is hard to watch neglect like that right next door. Thankful for her reaching out. I did the same and the dog is now with a family who loves him. ❤️

Yep, so true, Joey is adorable, and beautiful, and clearly a very sweet fur child. So happy he got rescued, no dog, no animal, no child, no living being, no being deserves to be mistreated, abused, and neglected, it's beyond sinful, and very , very so sad.

He helps - maybe?! - a couple of dozen dogs and lives very well on the back of the donations he gets from doing so, seemingly overwhelmingly from women who appear to be almost as emotionally invested in him as the dogs. A part of me can't help but feel that he's taking money that otherwise might have gone to other charities that would help an awful lot more animals. But his dogs clearly live very well so that's a good thing.

He also employs a staff of humans that work at his sanctuary, which means they rely on him for income and employment. It’s right to be skeptical of people! It’s not right to spread misinformation of someone online because you see a couple videos and get a bad vibe.
I wish this dog could have been adopted by a loving family, especially a fun athletic family who would enjoy running and playing with him. Joining a pack of 50 dogs...hmmm....it's still a shelter just without the cages. I'm not sure how hard this guy works at adoptions for the dogs he "rescues".

Being a husky dad, I could tell you these dogs require lots of attention, exercise, and love. This melts my heart
They 're really hard work but you put that work in they're very rewarding just love Huskies.

To leave a breed like a husky to his on device unchecked and having almost no healthy interaction with is a recipe for disaster. As with any dog. Archer house to the rescue.
Yes. They do. But they are the friendliest, funniest, most beautiful and high spirited dogs. So worth all of the effort if you can do it. Too many people see a pretty husky or just pick one up and don’t know what huskies need. So too many end up being neglected or put in shelters. It’s so sad. They deserve the best!

there is nothing to say this wasn't a good home, good condition, knew to walk on a leash, knew to sit, there would have been no reason to take this dog if animal control was called.

Yep, I wish I could do it, so thankful to those who are, wish there were millions of Asher house.
They might be OK with a cat or a smaller less energetic breed. Huskies are hard especially if you don't have an extra dog or two for them to play with to keep their energy spent.

Huskies are some of the highest energy and extremely high intelligence. If they are not properly attended they can literally go insane. Incredible beautiful animal. I'm very glad to see you help Joey.
In my building, a husky who is about two years ago sits all day in 45 degree heat without any cooler or ac , it's a family but they do the bear minimum, my God I can't even imagine why do they bring the dog in the first place if they don't want to care for it.

Courses, hell, he should have his own TV show. The man's a legit expert, almost a genius with how well he instinctively understands what a dog is thinking and how to reach them.

This guy is one of my favorite people in the whole world. What he does with all those dogs is just amazing beyond words.
Joey went from a purgatorial empty backyard cut off from life, to community, love and happiness. Made me tear up. Thank you, wonderful man for rescuing the lovely Joey. ❤

My cheeks hurt from smiling so much watching this video from beginning to end. I am so grateful to the neighbor for calling and for her concern and the owner for relinquishing ownership and giving this dog the best life they could ever have.
I love how much he included the woman who connected them, she was so emotionally invested. Rescuers can often get caught up in their own busy lives and brush off the civilians who assist in so many ways. I’m sure it felt really great 🥰

MAD props to Mr. Asher for his undying dedication to rescuing so many dogs, which would obviously have been put down without their rescue. The facts remain that TOO MANY dogs are in overcrowded facilities (where the clock is ticking before euthanasia), AND that too many dogs are owned by people who shouldn't be allowed to own goldfish!

Emotional issues. Hoarders, narcissists, depressed people, they have trouble letting go or they think that it's not so bad for the animals, or they have plans that we know they just aren't capable of following through on.
It's not an excuse, neglect isn't okay, but just some reasons.

I have a lab mix and in her younger years I would spent over 2 hours at the park throwing the ball. I’m so glad someone can give him the attention he needs.
There's a guy where i take my little puppy dog for a walk every morning that has a Alaskan Malamute that just turned a year old and this guy is always taking Blue for a walk through out the day. Blue is a really good boy and he loves my little puppy dog Lovie and they love to see each other and play with each other. All puppy dogs should be treated as their humans want to be treated or better!

This dog has beautiful eyes. He seemed to trust him by entering into the vehicle and felt free!!
As an owner of huskies this made me cry (and I don't cry easily). What a beautiful dog Joey is! God bless Asher and the next door neighbor. We need more humans like these two, who love and protect the animals we have bred to be our companions and best friends.

They are beautiful dogs. I like when they talk and their bottom canines move up and down.
We had to pay a $450.00 ransom to get the neighbors Lab off a 5’chain for over a year.
We immediately took her to the HS but were declined as they said we had paid for her.
So she’s living the good life now at our house with our rescue poodle. The two of them are inseparable!❤❤

As a Husky Owner I am so please to see him enjoying his life outside his backyard. Some people think Sasha, my Husky, is broken sometimes because she doesn't misbehave or act out in public. It's because I took the time to understand what it was going to take to have a Happy Husky! And while most Huskies I see on Social Media can't stand harnesses mine understands it means walk time and that makes her happy! 😊

Theres so many dogs in this same state here in Miami. I hate to say it but alot of people here have dogs just to keep the yard safe. Like get a camera or an alarm not a sentient being!!!
