    This kind of really hard snow, early in the morning, before the sun warms it, is the one I enjoy the most.

    • @Triggerboy62
      @Triggerboy62  Před 4 lety +3

      Yeah, you need to get up early in the morning and be on that first chair or gondola. Not to catch powder but to be the first one to catch the hard smooth untouched groomed surface of a crowd free pist. In the case of race training on a glacier you need to get up as early as 4:00 o'clock in the morning. Depending on morning routines and how long it takes to get to the lift. Coaches go earlier to set the gates. They need to be taken down in the evening and rebuilt every morning.

    Their abilities to hold an edge on that ice is beyond belief

    • @Triggerboy62
      @Triggerboy62  Před 4 lety

      Yes, its impressive. I have been skiing some on that kind of surface and you need really sharp edges and 100% commitment. Tourists that come to pists like this by accident usually fall and slide down the whole pist and hurt themselves really badly. That's why there are warning signs if the slope is iced. Here its of course natural ice.

    2:55 icebox cemented!!!! Tuned at 86º/0,3º or 0º or die!! Its easy for wc racers but its difficult for rest of people

    • @Triggerboy62

      Yes, that is unfortunately true. We can never get our skis to the same level of tuning. And then they are super fit which is for me at least not possible.

    Hey Triggerboy62/TDK.. had been a fan before you posted the most recent videos includin Vidovic training as well as the WC / Levi videos. Who is the ski racer in the young to old video? Who is Tom? Is this a family effort? Whomever .... The newest videos are priceless for coaches and athletess, young and old. Keep up the great posts. I also hope that the young racer is able to apply the newer techniques... and make a go for the big show!! Respect... HUP HUP

      Thanks Ron. Yes, I'm Tom and I'm Chris father. Chris, the young racer so frequently appearing in my videos. His bigger brother Kenneth is his older brother. As you can see from the My Story video, Chris all of a sudden, at age 17, took a huge leap forward in skill level. Even though I'm a race coach and ski instructor it took us with surprise and we had no time to react. For the time being our ambitions are to inspire all you guys and gals out there with these CZcams videos. We have something really unique going on here I think. My dream would be to meet up with you guys and ski together. We always have a great time wherever we go. I have a super video being released tomorrow that I think you will enjoy. Stay tuned :)

      @@Triggerboy62 hey Tom and Chris. Thanks for the reply. Skiing is my drug. I love all of your videos. I have dealt with two significant injuries that took me 20 years to overcome. On the good side of a second back surgery. Been making turns in my head for decades to make up for lack of nearby skiing. Finding visuals help build my visualisation exercises has been a key to my recovery. Would love to talk more.. are you guys in Sweden?

      @@Triggerboy62 Great videos! (as usual), you can really see precise, consistent timing and snow spray (my coach called mine 'rooster tails' way back when) across the fall line just before each gate. Cumulative totals coming down to fractions between racers. Amazing. PS, you've done a fantastic job w. Chris. Cheers!

    Triggerboy62 your thoughts on redster s7 skis ;; and what's the best height for and 182 cm tall guy ;;;

    • @Triggerboy62
      @Triggerboy62  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi, thanks for watching my video and for leaving a comment. Great question. I have no experience with the S7 but from what I have heard they are great. Compared to the FIS skis we are skiing on, ours are much stiffer and they have different plates and bindings. That makes for a huge difference. You cant go wrong with the S7s but if you ever have the chance to try FIS skis have a go. Then you will know if FIS skis are something for you or not because often they are not. My advice regarding ski length is chin level plus minus a few centimeters. For SL skis that is. For overall carving skis you can go a bit longer. Then they will be more stable as well. 170-175 are great lengths for all mountain carving skis. Hope this helps.
