Now that Blender 3.0 is in beta it is time for a little more advanced setup. In this tutorial Manuel will build a multi-layered growth effect. Fully procedural plants are scattered on a procedural terrain and controlled by an effector empty. They all grow individually and move with the wind. Learn how to stack geometry nodes setups on top of each other to increase complexity with these growing alien flowers.

Im soo envious towards the blender community. They've got your attension
Come ! we have procedural cookies
I'm absolutely appreciating the pace of this video. Coming to the point without wasting my time by talking unnecessary BS.
If just all tutorials were like that
I can't believe I got 90+ % of this!!!
Simply explaining a rather complex animation...!!
Please more Blender tutorials please. I love this ❤️
Best tutorial ever, very clear and it contains precious tips. In 3.4 we don't have " Tranfer Attribute Node" at 16:00 , the new "Sample Index Node" worked very well connecting value to Group Input and then use the name that I gave for "Effector ". Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial!!!
When connecting "sample index" to the End of "trim curve" splines disappear. Do you know why?. Thanks in advance.
@@elennyavila9479 same here
In 3.1 you can use the factor value from spline parameter instead of the curve parameter at 13:23
thanks
thank you!
thank you so much
Much thanks! :)
thank u sm i was tripping
This was so cool , please keep creating these nice blender tutorials :)
Loving the Blender content, thanks for a great tutorial!
There's most tutorials at 1.75x speed...
Then there's Entagma... the only tutorials I have to play in .5 speed.
Bravo guys!
I've watched three Blender tutorials today and all of them brilliant, but it felt like the teachers had just downed ten cans of Red Bull.
@@aleph618 Yeah I wish people would woo the heck down in their tutes, it's really annoying to have to pause and rewind one hundred times in a 10-minute video.
this is great that you are making high quality tutorials for blender!
Excellent, thanks Manu for this incredibly clear walkthrough. Cheers !
Fantastic! Thank you for this awesome walk-through!
This is so Houdini and I love it. Thank you for sharing all the goodness!
Awesome! Saying that I've learned a ton is an understatement :)
Very informative and easy to follow tutorial, Can't wait to put this into practice!
Damnit ! Your tutorials kick arse.
Thank you for this great tutorial! So much useful GN-related information in one video.
WOW. What an in-depth and amazing tutorial. More, more, more! Please. :-)
Fantastic tutorial. Thank you for making it!
Really high quality. Good job.
just because u keep explaining to us patiently u deserve many thanks cuz its a huge knowledge to translate. I cannot thank u enough
Really nice walkthrough.
What a fantastic tutorial! Subscribed, I can't wait to dive into more of your content. Thank you!
Thank you for the Blender nodes tuts!
Marvelous tutorial, just what I needed.
This is simply brilliant and greatly explained. Thanks for sharing for free.
I’m so impressed by the way you’re meticulous in explaining things. Also, organizing, capitalization and structure really makes this even more pleasing than it already is. Thank you!
I enjoy watching your tutorials so much! I am learning a lot about how to explain things from your videos! Thank you very much for that!
This is, easily, the best geometry nodes tutorial I've ever watched. Thank you!
So much learned in such a quick tutorial!
This was absolutely inspirational!!!.... but my head hurts now. :) Well done!
Your tutorial shows power of the Blender Geometry Node! Insane...
I think I just found the best geometry nodes tutorial. thank you, please keep this up :)
The Best Geo tutorial I Have Found!!! well done good sir
It's crazy. This is a really good tutorial.
Great pacing! you got a new subscriber sir!
I'm not sure if you know this but you can press the "pin icon" button (at the top of the editor on the right side of the name of the geometry node) for the node network to always be visible even when you select a different object (in your case when you selected the empty the nodegraph disappeared).
Also if you want to control a scale of the vector with a single value you can use the Vector math node set to "Scale" instead of the "Multiply"
Also this was a nice tutorial :)
This was soooo good! Great Tutorial and alot of small tips and tricks.
Dankeschön :)
Thanks so much for making this! Learned a ton!
Thanks a lot. I relly love your workflow. I was having some issues but I rewatched the specific segment and I was able to fix the problem. The whole animation works perfectly for me.
Appreciate this tutorial, I've been trying to make a sprouting animation using the new Blender 3.0 fields all week
Cool Tutorial. Easy to understand and informative
Nice Tut! I got the gist of it, if not the full intricacies of the math. Great Job overall!!!
I watched it like i would watch a thriller movie..! Absolute thriller of a tutorial. Thanks Entagma . Lots of love and respect..!
Thank you a lot! Finally got my head around couple topics
Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial!
excellent tutorial man, very high class
Excellent tutorial, learned a lot from this.
I absolutely loved this tutorial
36:50 For those who have problems with animating
In Geometry nodes, Select the Realize instance node before the Capture attribute (master weight), and hit N for the info bar. Under Node > Properties > Mark "legacy behavior".
Thank you ! I would never have found this !
wow, Thank you.
thank you , what's the "legacy behavior" mean?
Does not work for me, 3.2
my leaves were rotating like crazy. I changed ID block to Index block and everything started working (3.3 version)
Beautiful animation. Great tutorial.
very well explained, love it!
Thanks Mate. Really nice tout.
This is a masterclass. Thank you so much
Thank you very much for your brilliant tutorials !!!
Thanks! Cool tutorial!
Terrific. Managed to make it through everything. All I can say is WOW! The only trouble I had was creating the driver at the end.
Brilliant tutorial. Thank you.
Great tutor, Thank you so much. I didn`t realize all that happens but realize my instances:)
Really good tutorial, finally an advanced tutorial that doesn't make me feel dumb :P Thanks
wow I'm at 8 mins and I already wrote down 2 A4 pages. So clear explanations, it is a joy to learn from you!
I really appreciate these tutorials. I know everytime you post them you get equally annoying "do more blender" and "blender sucks" comments.
Man that subtract/multiply combo coming off the noise to force the range from -1 to 1 has been a real game changer for me. I never realized that was why my noise displacements were always shifted, and I've been constantly using a transform node to fix. So thanks for that!
I can't believe that this tutorial is free...tausend Dank!
This is fantastic. Straight to the point. No Bs. Thank you, and please go on creating awesome content. I must admit though 17:11 to 18:50 wrecked my brain.
this is a masterclass of geometry nodes, thanks a lot
hey are you that guy who creates blender daily art on insta right. Those are amazing
不得不说,大佬就是大佬,每次都从你的几何节点视频里面学到很多有用的新知识。😊
Awesome, thanks for your guidance!
thank you @Entagma!!!!
Such a pleasant voice intonation
Phenominal.... looks sooo easy :-) Thank you
This is so amazing, Thank you...👍
Fantastic. Thank you!
wonderful tutorial, learned alot, thank you.
Thank you very much! The best FREE tutorial especially for beginers like me! High-quality video with a good sound, keep going! And thanks to every commentators below who explain whats nodes to use in 3.4+ version
when my Capture Attribute is connected to the Trim Curve, it will disappear .. any idea? =(
SO good this tutorial!!!! thanks alot!!
The GOATS are back
I'm new to blender and followed his amazing tutorial and got it working like his! Now I have to know how to make the animation look like the intro of the video!
Great tutorial! I'm still trying to make the perfect donut, but once I do, I think I'll be ready for your more advanced courses
15:00 in 3.4+, the transfer attribute is removed. To get around this, in the seeds object instead of creating a output for the effectorweight, I used the "store named attribute" node to add the attribute to the point. Then in the plant growth object, I access this data using the "sample index" node where the geometry param comes from the object info node of the seed layer, the value comes from a "named attribute" node that specifies the attribute previously named in the "store named attribute" node, and the index param comes from a "sample nearest" node that takes geometry from the object info. works well, and ignores the need for the weird input/output attributes.
👍 Thanks a lot! But when I add trim curve node, curves disappear/or their length equal zero. What I made wrong?
@@ruslopuslo Something's wrong then, can you look at the data for the attribute in the data inspector on either of the layers? There should be a column for it. I can send you my file too if you get stuck.
@@GeckoLink Thank u! ❣
Hey would it be possible to get a screenshot of your node tree? I'm trying to follow your instructions but I think I'm missing something
@@francoriverti Check out the comment of @Luis Dias. This one is much easier to understand from just text
Thank you so much. Your lesson is very detail, easy to understand. 🥰🥰🥰
This was massive!! Wow!! ❤
and if you connect the point for the laves with spline than you get spiral around a tube that is really a nice trick!!! hehe THANKSSS!!!
when my Capture Attribute is connected to the Trim Curve, it will disappear .. any idea? =(
Thank you so much. I looked for 2 days for something like this. Only difference in 3.4 is that you need a sample index node in stead of a transfer attribute node.
this is so incredible
You are god of geometry node sr!
You are simply Amazing. :)
You're a f*ing magician! Amazing tutorial!
Wow.
This is super awesome stuff.
I just did the needful ie. subscribed, hit the notification bell, liked and left a comment.
Peace!

this is an amazing example
That is just awesome.

Thanks man!!!
Nice guy, nice voice, great blender tutorial. thank you sir
Great tutorial I’m starting to use PC so this was useful
