A former producer confirmed this and about a week or two later Cavill left.

So happy to hear they expanded Bill's role. It felt odd to cast Nick Offerman for kind of a small part. Even more excited.
He wasn't the actor originally cast either. So it must've been a hell of a role to have taken

The expanded Bill role really that only thing that interest me.
You wish for more infected scenes, but the less they appear on the screen, the more dangerous they are.
They could also build up to some really crazy stuff if there's a season 2. Just thinking about Abby in the hospital basement.

seen two reviews from press in my country. Both very positive reviews. a 6 and 5 on the dice from those two.
Well they gave tlou 2 a 10 and the guy who reviewed the game works for naughty dog now so I'd keep my expectations low.

The thing is, that show is clearly made with a lot of love and detail. It's just clear the writers needed to "show-ify" their plot lines in a very gimmicky way

Halo barely has a story to adapt, and no characters.
Halo is 90% gameplay and barely has a story. The Last of Us is pretty much already a movie. They could simply just act out the cutscenes and it would still be alright.
It blows my mind how often everybody gets on board and is pro IGN when the review matches what they're hoping for.

Whoever hasn't played the game in grounded mode is missing a lot. It's a complete different experience playing the game this way. It feels like being in a true survival apocalyptic world. Highly recommend it!

@@joefayant8470Mostly means they aren’t too afraid the ending of the season will get spoiled, probably due to the ending already being public knowledge since the game has been out for a decade.
@Reservoir Frogs Some reviewers seem to have received only the first 4 episodes, but it sounds like IGN received all of them. Maybe others will receive the final episodes soon.
Yeah, usually they get about the first first few episodes of a season to give their first impressions. They’ve done the same with this series although it sounds like this reviewer was given the entire season, so it must be on a case by case basis.

I'm so excited for the expanded story of Bill and Frank. I've always wanted to know more about them ever since reading that letter that Frank leaves for Bill in the game.

I’ve read other reviews and all of their complaint seems to be only one which is the pacing, like what he said in this review. If it weren’t for that it would’ve been 10/10.

The show was made for people like me who never played the game and thats why it was so great, not assuming the viewer to have played the game. @wholelottagangshid
HBO is truly in a league of their own. Everything they put out is absolute gold. House of the dragon, White lotus and now this and many more. Netflix and other platforms can learn a thing or two from HBO.

Without dropping spoilers, how far through the game does this first season go? Did they squeeze the entire journey into 9 episodes? Or will the original game be shown via 2-3 seasons?
Covers the entire first game and season 2 will cover the entire second game.
Its the full first game + the Left Behind DLC too

It's going outside the box a lot. 2 episodes focused on romantic relationships, and no clickers for multiple episodes.
Shows like the Witcher season 2 and on halo could’ve been amazing.
The nod to Jin Sakai and Kratos in the cold open was total class
The way Kratos told the clicker: "enough clickin‘ boy" really gave me goosebumps

Having never played the game, but know the plot somewhat from game clips I’ve seen, really looking forward to this. Also, I’ll watch anything with Pedro/Mando…this is the way.

Ive played the last of us series. It's one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. With that being said if your not into playing the games enjoy the series. Don't feel like you have to play the games because you don't.

I've said since they've revealed the principal cast and crew that the entire show hinged on Bella Ramsay. Everyone else is a known commodity and are all very talented(Anna Torv and Nick Offerman I'm particularly excited about), but Bella is the one wild card. Glad to see early reports saying she nails it.

One thing about the games was the repetitive infected interactions. The more it progressed, the less “scary” they got. I’m glad they’re building up the tension for the general audience. This will be fun. ALSO IF ANYONE SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT BILL’S RELATIONSHIP IM GONNA FLIP. Thanks

Idk man, less is more more oft than not when it comes to horror…in a film at least.. but in a series? i’m trying to see some of the monsters every episode at least or every two episodes…three is a bit much. Bought this game and loved it cus it was survival horror/ post-apocalyptic.
