They give pretty neutral yet in depth reviews for TLOU 2, especially since the game was so divisive before and after game release. I'm not surprised Druckmann treat them pretty well for a couple of YT influencers after that, their good impression for the show premiere event will help the studio and the show to attract more audience.

So glad they are staying faithful to the the game and keeping Joel's iconic catchphrase "It's Lastin Time!" Would have been a real insult to the fans to not have it.
when joel stepped onto the golf course and proclaimed "its lastin time!" before lastin all over the place... It literally brought tears to my eyes. so beautiful, so brave
I felt like some of the dialogue was a little ham fisted, like when Joel said "So we're HBO's The Last Of Us, the live adaptation(tm)" near the end, bit of an odd choice

I was lucky enough to see it as well in a special screening, and it's great! Bella Ramsey's Ellie is a pleasant surprise and it's so good to see how faithful it is to the source material. Loved it!
Oh, and they used the music from the game. Such a nice touch. Not like the Uncharted movie where there isn't almost any trace of Nate's theme :')
Basicaly every video game show or movie doesn't use the music. if it doesn't if the shows okay or what ever. Its a hard pass for me. I'd rather the music than good writing half the time tbh as I never expect these adaptations to be good. BUT if TLOU show is good god damn I feel sorry for everyone else who has to live up this quality
They did use Nate's theme, just at the very end during the final sequence. However, yes, more video game adaptations should use the game music more.

So happy to hear Neil recognizing your work. Your understanding the last of us 2 video is the finest video game commentary I’ve seen, by a mile. Bravo
Neil brought gaming what it has never seen before. Extremely emotionally gut wrenching story telling. Good story telling in games is rare. This level of emotion is even more rare. In part one with Joels kid getting killed. And in part 2 with joel getting killed. The level of anger and trauma. The sadness. Sooooo many emotions. Can you name a game that's reached those levels in its story telling? It's clearly a very rare thing and Neil killed it with his team. What a honor to be recognized by this legend!

My wife hates games too but the first time I played The Last of Us, her and her friend were on the couch and they couldn't stop watching. That opening chapter will forever be one of the best.

They're getting so sophisticated and interesting these days, would love to see that because it offers more opportunity of collaboration between you two. Please do some board games! I'm someone who enjoys them as well. We can start with the board game simulator but for simple games like Here to Slay to hardcore ones like Gloomhaven or Oathsworn, I'll surely enjoy the content you'll put out there.

Watched the first episode. I gotta say that it was really great. The story felt authentic to the original game while still doing its own thing. The actors were insane. I'm really looking forward to how they tell the rest of the story. The only con is that it left me wanting more. I give the first episode a 9/10.

Long time viewer, this is awesome you guys got to go to such a huge event! I just wanted to add I haven’t played the game yet but I have played uncharted and even though it’s a similarly immersive story the movie that came out had a great cast but I thought didn’t live up to the game. Sonys exclusives are mostly really well done and would make amazing movies/tv shows but it doesn’t always happen. Glad to see the last of us was done right!

The thing with casting for a show like this, you are not casting someone for Joel and someone for Ellie. You're casting two people for Joel AND Ellie, like their chemistry. You can have the best lookalikes, if they have not the same chemistry together, you might as well stop filming this altogether.
Pedro and Bella having already known each other from game of thrones and from the interviews already show great chemistry. I belive it wasn't that hard for the director to make that casting choice.

If you guys run out of games to review, it turns out going to events is equally entertaining! I was so intrigued by Matt talking about the cinematography becoming more immersive in scenes that are equivalent to gameplay sections. Can't wait for the premiere!

I definitely agree with the casting. The moment I heard nick offerman was gonna be in it I immidiately knew who he was playing even without knowing beforehand.
At first I didn’t think we needed a TLOU3 but I feel like the idea of a trilogy is warranted. The first 2 games are so grand, I’m ready for a new departure with Ellie.

First episode was great. My dad had to get up and start pacing as things were going to shot and then went to find our dog: he literally carried our 55lb doodle across the house for comfort 😂
Silly but part of this was filmed where I live, so I'm pleased they made it look and feel like the game. (Yes, insert your own joke about whether looking like an apocalyptic wasteland is a good thing, but whatever, lol.)
Watched the 9 pm premiere with my partner, we got the chills once the song came on! Loved how some of the scenes were shot for shot, a wonderful recreation.
