This is awesome! As an older person who has always had hearing loss, I can see the changes in attitude. Unfortunately, I was raised at a time when things like hearing loss, were not discussed and it wasn't ok to just talk about it. Thanks for literally breaking the silence on the topic.

You mentioned something that has troubled me for years. That is, not remembering how things sounded when I could hear better. We have a water feature in our back yard and I never know if I have the volume in the right place on my hearing aids to hear it properly. I have a hard time when I'm fishing in a stream for the same reason-I just can't remember how loud a stream should sound. I think I turn the volume up too much on a regular basis because of just not being able to remember how things "should" sound. Another great video April. You are wise much beyond your years. Thank you.

Hi again April I am really enjoying your video's,it must have been a shock when you started losing your hearing a few years back & having to get hearing aids! There is still a stigma with hearing aids if you got short hair you think people are staring at your hearing aids so like mine for many years they stayed in a drawer & gathered dust! But in 2018 my speech started suffering & my hearing loss got severe so it was either stay deaf or wear my hearing aids! Not only did I decide to wear my hearing aids I got coloured earmoulds too! It did help but my confidence was not that good! Not being sexist here but a lady can wear her hair down and cover her hearing aids! But soon the hearing aids get stronger & you have to ask people to repeat themselves! I don't go to too many family gatherings now as I find it hard to work out what they are saying! This Christmas will be hard now I am profoundly deaf! I can hear a few sounds & words! Your doing really well & are now on top of being deaf! I would say at Christmas remind people you are deaf & show off your hearing aids! Even think about changing over to coloured earmoulds! 💖
