That rig sounds almost as good as my epiphone through my line 6 spide (mk2).
Watching the buttons on your shirts rubbing against that burst was freaking me out.
I’ve played a lot of vintage guitars and am very careful.
That 54 is so clean I can't believe they let ANYONE touch that!!!😮
have to handle it sooner or later or no more business
Always enjoy Zach’s playing but it was very cool to hear Matthew and Jeff as well!
I was blown away by the old store last year, I am just going to have to come back and check out the new one! If you are a guitar freak/geek/nerd, Nashville is hard to beat. Gruhns and Rumble Seat are on the same street, and I had a day going between them all. I didn't hit Arnolds, but ended downtown with a couple of drinks and food, I needed to reflect on what I had seen and the dozens of guitars I had been able to play. I was only there a couple of days but packed a lot in, I shall be back!
I was always a huge fan of the original Carter Vintage location, and was worried that I would not like the new location. I have to admit that I am even more impressed with the new location.
I've always thought you can tell someone's influences by what they play first when sitting down to try a guitar in a shop and Zach's and Matthew's are definitely showing. Loved that Strat! Daaaamn... If I ever hit the lottery I'm hitting Carter's ASAP! Great video as always, guys!
Daaaaang! $500000 rig sounds amazing though my iphone speaker.
as it was meant to be! lol
It ought to, a new i-phone is a $1000 "rig" already
No cap
This was a good day! Great vid guys 👌
Like kids in a candy store! The enthusiasm is infectious.
Love these style videos
New shop looks fantastic. Guitars are cool. Amps are cool.
The guitar rows in new Carter's appear, at least on video, to be a bit wider. Which good! Every time I saw those swap meet looking rows, it's a vibe I get it, but I always got the "what if it domino's?" anxiety looking at them.
What I admire most about this video is your dedication to long sleeves in Nashville in May. 🥵🥵🥵
I watch every video hoping for the weirdly bent arm and I am never let down!! Great video!
My poor wrist, wish I could help it! lol
I need to take a day off to visit the new Carter. Looks incredible
Arguably I thought the Shabat/Benson rig sounded better to my ears than the Les Paul/Dumble combo 😅😂
It’s a sick combo
My Squier Nashville Strat into my HX Stomp for the win! That being said I dig the high end stuff😊
Great episode gents! I would be so scared to even hold a $350k machine let alone play one!!! BTW, you know you guys can’t leave Arnold’s until them plates are clean!! Also, awesome playing fellas!
That sounds awesome. Would be terrified to even breathe on it
I have a photo of a band my mother played for back in the 60's. The photo shows one of the guitar players using a gold top Les Paul; the photo is dated 1962. Wonder where that guitar is now?!
Great Tax right off for the company. Still loving the Herculean Pedal.
Cool
It's like an airplane hanger of gear.
Cheers... love this kind of video. Yeah that 54 Strat was the star of the video for me. How was the experience of the Burst compared to your new Murphy?
It was a great guitar, not my favorite. I prefer my new Murpy!
@@MythosPedals I was gonna say the same... i like yours better... based on the vibe over You Tube :-) Which makes your Burst a bargain
The New Carter Vintage is Dope AF and grateful to have seen it recently in person!! Thank YOU for the tour Mythos Team 🤟
Wow. Makes me so sad that we truly don’t have anything like this in Canada!
I think the sales tax difference should be more than enough to cover your flight to Nashville... even if you are going "cheap" and not dropping a 1/4 mill on an axe. If you are out west, there's a few sweet stores in Seattle as well.... Now try to be a leftie player in Canada like I am. Haha.
What's that guitar/bass/drums groove in the background (e.g. at around 11:40 [and before, too]) - has a bit of a Charlie Hunter vibe to me...
More MT chugging on camera. Brother got the ⚡ 🤘🏼
Does new Carter’s smell like old Carter’s? I have such a sense memory of the Old Carter’s.
It's the gear that has the smell, so YES! Great smells over there
I had the chance to play 4 bursts in my life. One of these was absolutely incredible. The other ones were cool... nothing too special.
I'm out here trying to budget a trip to Texas Roadhouse. Half a mil for a rig may be a touch out of reach
what is the background music in this video?
Unless it plays itself, nothing is worth that amount of money. As far as the store goes, I really like the design of the floor-mounted racks. Great idea to keep everything at waist level.
22:10 - did that Greeny have a headstock break/repair, or is that a scarf joint?
Things are worth what people are willing to pay.
@@MythosPedals That's why these instruments are unattainable, people with more money than brains.
Plays itself? Where’s the fun in that?
Those prices are based on overly romanticized marketing and dumb people with too much money helping make them sky rocket in price pushing the false notion that "Vintage" automatically means better. It's all the placebo affect when people see what they are playing.
Wow🤔 that sounds like an electric guitar but the specs are simple historic and unobtainable.
When I win the lottery I'll be coming to see y'all! We will probably never meet
If you’re buying lunch we will be there
Made the right decisions?? So which Strat did you get??
The 54
I meant overall in life. I get philosophical went I eat good.
So did Matt buy his Strat style guitar yet? Also, Arnold's. Damn. You all should do a food channel too. Was that catfish right at the start of the line?
He hasn’t yet. It was that’s what I got. Always delivers
I ended up ordering another Castedosa first... coming this week.
A black pocket t and whatever pants . A classy cheap style that is cool enough for Jerry Garcia. You can buy a pack of 5 at the dollar store for 15 bucks .
could you recommend some basic mods to perform on this rig please?
This ones doesn't really need much lol, I'd probably play with speakers in the Dumble knowing me
@@MythosPedals ha ha, you are an inveterate modder! It sounded sick, great playin' btw, really enjoy all the Mythos content & the Dipped in Tone stuff
My Gibson Custom R9 and Friedman BE 100 Deluxe sound as good if not better for $13K.
Ha, the (I’m guessing) faux headstock break on the Greeny…
Indeed, they are trying to copy everything on the original so those marks have to be there
Would be kind of amazing if they just broke it and repaired it for the real Gibson experience
Interesting comment about great electric guitars feeling plugged in when played acoustically. Couldn’t agree more. Tons of guitars respond terribly unplugged. A great instrument responds brilliantly well acoustically.
I made a 250.00 rig sound like a millions dollars….. everything is subjective….. but I love my Wildkwood Mythos Pedal best!!! Thanks for what you do!!!!!
I think the words you are looking for is MoJo does it have it for you if you play it and can’t stop it has MoJo.
Intro x 0,75
That' 60 has an amazing color and It sounds pretty good but there's no way I would pay the money they sell for.
My Murphy Lab is a totally comparable instrument for sure!
@@MythosPedals Burst owners like Bonamassa, Marsden(R.I.P) and others have stated that there are ML's that are
in the ballpark of the old originals. You got a good one and i would guess you hand picked it?
@@These_go_to_eleven_1959 A Standard built on a good day by someone that cared is "in the ballpark", too. You just have to keep playing different LPs and not be impatient. It make take trying 50-100 specimens to get there, or only a few.
There's, of course, a lefty section right...right?...RIGHT?
Ehhhhhhhhhhh! I don't know if they have enough for a "section"
@@MythosPedals Honestly would be happy if there were like 2 lefties...and 1 was an acoustic
That sounded exactly like My R9 into a J rockett the dude into a deluxe reverb reissue.
That'll do. I'd venture to guess even an Epiphone through that would do the trick
@@kwyatt261 yep
The question is simple, WHY😅
Why not?
@@MythosPedals
It’s not like you could demo a Squier Classic Vibe and Boss Katana at CVG.
A follow up video is needed "modding a 59' Burst'
@@BluesMe81 MAN! Yes, Super Distortions here we come
@@MythosPedals The "grossness" of it, is why not. Few to none of these things were selling for even 15 grand 20-30 years ago, and so the apparent inflation is rather extreme. Especially after going through the fiscal catastrophes of 2008 through 2020 "Cares" Act, NAFTA, TCP/IP and on and on.
People don't like to be reminded that they were dealt (and/or played) a much lower hand and draw in life, so viddys like this come across as show-off-y and ostentatious.
They're just little slabs of wood with paint sprayed on and metal screwed in plus some stone-age electronics and _they aren't violins_ - or even a synthesizer, for that matter. Let alone a piano or a car.
TL;DR = Electric guitars are "supposed to be" humble, not _haute couture._
I don’t like the amp sounds fuzzy
It’s a tweed! Gnarly is its nature
Meanwhile, a new Les Paul and Fender amp sound exactly the same for a fraction of the cost. If people want to collect old gear, for historical purposes, more power to them. But any suggestion that it is any better than the same thing being made today is snake oil. It’s usually worse, for obvious reasons. This stuff is irrelevant to musicians who just want to make music. If you’ve got a bunch of money and find old stuff interesting, cool. But this is like wine collecting, or art, and so on. A hobby for rich people. It’s expensive because it’s rare. As musical instruments, the new ones are literally the same thing. Gibson even uses some of the same machines in their factory that they’ve been using from the beginning.
Ok jealous hater
@@dezionlion Not jealous, just tired of seeing the same things. Some guitars are better than others. But then there’s cork sniffing. I like Gibsons. But you don’t need to pay $100,000 for one. Especially if it’s all jacked up and is actually worse than a new one.
That’s great you have a Les Paul and fender amp
but these videos are for people who want to dream.
@@dezionlion I have a Les Paul (cost way less than this one), do not have a Fender amp. And theirs is a Dumble, which is astronomically expensive. Dreaming of vintage gear that costs 5-6 figures is useless, was my point. Get brand new ones that cost way less, and it sounds the same.
Cool story bro
It wasn’t vintage in 1974, so how has fifty years made it a better guitar ?
What
half a million on my bank account sound way better😁 my vintage Tokai LP sounds the same🤷🏾♂
Watch the Les Paul video I did with Rhett Shull were we shootout a burst to an Epiphone. The Epi held its own!
@@MythosPedals 😁crazy good video! My conclusion is still that amps do matter way more than guitars.
@@Tino5150VH none of it matters . only the person playing it.
You're lucky to have half a million, saying that what I ever had I'd never pay that for a guitar.
Not sure it's the compression, but don't sound any better than a standard les paul. Strat sounded superb. Why do people wear jackets when trying guitars!
Videos with 350 thousand dollars guitars make me feel depressed.
😅
Why?!
Drink
generic comment
It does not sound like half a million, it sounds like 5 million
