Hello my Beautiful People! Welcome back to the studio! Today I am working on a mixed media piece that I am very excited about! I am still having a great time playing with my Lightweight Spackling and have found another very fun and relaxing way to use it! Lets get started!
Im using a 15x30 inch gallery wrapped canvas from Artists Loft.
I got the stencil on Amazon.
I am using Fast N Final Lightweight Spackling paste which I also got on Amazon.

No Pouring Medium Used
Todays piece is a big different than what I usually do.. Im not mixing my paints with any kind of pouring medium at all! I wanted to create a beautiful mountain scene with a minimal color palette and Im very happy with how it came out.
I love the way that the spackling worked with the stencils. At first I was thinking that I would paint them once they were dry but I actually really enjoy the contrast between the white spackling and the colors on the canvas.
A few notes:
- You can apply the colors to the canvas and let them dry before applying the spackle or stencils.
- You can add color to the spackling before you use it for stencils.
- Pay attention to the scale of things when working with stencils.
- Grouping or stacking the stencils looks really good. You might want to let the first layer dry before you apply any more layers on top to ensure a crisp clean edge.
- Using some water to soften the colors and have different levels of color concentration is a really beautiful look. You can even use the water you use to clean off your brush to do this..

Absolutely gorgeous Mina ❤ I love what you are doing with the sparkle! I did a piece with heavy gel gloss that came out like using sparkle. I got really distracted putting it on 😂😂😂 It did come out nice lol

Hey there Mina, this painting is so clever and so much fun. You come up with the best ideas to play with. Really liked how you did the background. Do you know, just by looking at the thumbnail I thought you had sculpted out that little temple 3D and others with the spackle. Then i saw you used the stencil and though that's a great idea and alot faster with lots of stencils to choose from and you and stencils go well together. It is always fun to see what you will create. ❤ Thank you so much.
