Hello my Beautiful People! Welcome back to the studio!
Fluid Art Boutique is happening in June 2024 in Dublin, Ireland and to prepare I am testing my Golden Heavy Gel Gloss Pouring medium with Owatrol, which is the equivalent of Floetrol in Europe. I have prepared all my paints and basecoat using the Owatrol & Gel Gloss.. lets see how this goes!

There is NO Silicone
in Any of My Paint.
My first observation is that the Owatrol seems more gelatinous than the Floetrol. When I first mixed my pouring medium it was acting the same as the Floetrol medium, but over a few hours it had thickened up a bit and definitely felt more gelatinous. I didn't see much difference when pouring it or when tilting my painting, so I am confident it will dry well. In the future I can simply add some water to the pouring medium, then it wont feel so gelatinous.
I love these colors together, and the little bit of blending that did occur is really beautiful.
Its been a while since I used my golf ball or a marble, but I feel like that was the perfect tool to use to marry the two sides of the painting together, and create a beautiful composition that was cohesive. I am very pleased with the results. I just used a regular golf ball that we had, it was not different. The first time I used a Golf Ball was with my dear friend @SarahMackArt when I Double Dog Dared her to do a Marble pour with me! You can watch that video here

I will show you the dried results of this painting in Sundays video, it should be dry by then.. Looking at it now it appears to be drying normally.
I have been spending some time outside lately, and have enjoyed seeing all the signs of Spring popping up everywhere: Irises and Daffodils are blooming, my Walnut tree has burst into a vision of gorgeous white flowers, all the fruit trees have buds on them. My favorite thing though is the birds singing. I hope you enjoy the sweet little birds at the end taking a bath.. they always make me laugh, they are so sweet.

Fantastic Wandering Ring Pour with the golf ball creating intrigue and symmetry. That ball was such a fun call. The colors are so warm and inviting and your painting dried so pretty. Your birdies playing in the water taking their bird baths made our day SO Joyful. Listening to them sing their pretty little songs and flit back and forth is heartwarming. Showing your birdies being so happy is a really special ending Mina and HoA. Thank you. ❤ Can't wait to see what Goddess Fiona has chosen. This will be so much fun to learn about all the different pantheon of Goddesses throughout the history of their time and the mythologies that are still being brought to light. AND.......your interpretation flowing through paint. How cool is that!
I love seeing the creamy consistency of your paint each week and I’m always amazed that it moves so easily. The contrast between the Prussian blue and the other colors is so pretty and the golf ball did its magic. So pretty!💙🧡 Thanks for sharing your video of the sweet little birds singing.

I love this...the golf ball wreck was the cherry on top! It looks fantastic! I will grab a golf ball out of my bag now! Ha...we only play 4 days a week! I will tell MY HOA that I can guarantee I won't hit that ball in the water now! ;) The birds playing in the pool is such a peaceful way to end this video! I love these colors so much and I think some Fire Opal would be a great addition to that palette! I am gonna try it!! :)

As I’m in England it was good to see you trying out Owetrol. I haven’t tried mixing it with gel as it’s pretty thick. Sometimes needs a little water. Interested to see how it dries. Love the birds - they looked like sparrows?
I have a Pair of benwa balls I received in the Christmas grab bag years ago. Now I know what to do with them LOL😂

Any chance you could do a small experiment with Aussie Flo and the gel gloss for your pouring medium Mina? I have been trying to working with that combination for a little while with some ok results, but not as good as I hoped. Thank you for another informative video 😄
That would be an extremely expensive experiment... Aussie Floetrol is so $$$, I would not feel comfortable mixing up cups of paint with it.. and I don't have that much lol ..
You could try gel gloss and water and just add a little bit of Aussie Floetrol and see how it goes. Do you have Owatrol where you are?

As I have mentioned before, I would love to see HOA yeet some hot rod flames. Now I have to add, that if he thinks the composition can be improved, he has to roll a chestnut through it. 😁

Hmmm... that is very gel-y.
I use Owatrol, and haven't had that at all. Wondering if it's having a gloss-gel interaction. (Or if the Transatlantic travel has altered it... does it smell solvent-y at all ? I've had that, and it's definitely off when it's solvent-stink)
I've only used it mixed it with PVA (where i love what it brings to the party to "relax" the gummy PVA) or simply paint and thinned with a bit of water for consistency.
I enjoy it.

No, just Golden Heavy Gel Gloss and Owatrol. I did add some water to my basecoat. Next time I will probably add water to the colors as well so they won't be quite as thick. This dried beautifully though, no issues or cracking at all. I show you in Sundays video (3/3/24)

Try keeping your paint consistency a bit thicker. That will hold the shape of your design and decrease cells forming 😉
