    A Communist is someone who reads Mark and Engles.
    A Capitalist is someone who understands Marx and Engles.

    Here's my opinion about communism and capitalism. Both have strengths and weakness. Capitalism relies on competition such as every person/corporation looks out for their best interest. Communism relies on altruism and solidarity of people. I think in certain circumstances communism do well in a short term, such as a last resort to produce things that are needed. Capitalism do well when everybody spends within their own mean. I think both end up failing. For communism, there is few incentives and people produce the bare minimum because of equal distribution but if there are less things to be distributed then there are shortages. Capitalism could fall too especially in modern time and has in the past. In capitalism people work hard because they think they can get ahead but the reality is that it is extremely unlikely for most people. The people in control of creating money and bonds in modern time can just cheat everybody else since money is no longer backed by gold. Nobody will go with this system when it gets to this point.

      I do, however, think there's one nugget of information you're missing
      Capitalism brought something like 90+% of people out of abject poverty
      Capitalism is the system of wealth and prosperity

    The explanation is good, but it is lacking in the video is our reality under capitalism (e.g. monopolization, deregulation) is far from the ideals now that corporations are squeezing us to the point of our middle class disappearing. Likewise, the corruption under communism that has caused a handful of corrupt oligarchs, and the government to have amassed great wealth, while poverty rates sore.

    I was taught in school that a communist government is when, one political party has all the power. For example, eliminating all Democrats and just have Republicans run the government, or eliminating all Republicans and just have Democrats run the government. A lot of people would be in favor of just having one party, mostly believe to just have Republicans. No, getting rid of one of those political parties, and just having Republicans or just having Democrats, that is THE WORST THING YOU COULD DO. You need both parties to work together and compromise. I you only have one party, that party will control us. I believe Russia only has one political party and after so many years, appoint a new leader to run the country.

I found out later that the schools do tell you lies. I didn't believe before that they did. I believe it now. Another lie they teach in school is, after the world war 2, Russia got their freedom. I don't know why people think money is the only motivator for being innovative and creative problem solving. There are many people who spend large amounts of time coming up with new ideas because that's just how they think, they enjoy new ideas, and/or they really want to help people.
    Capitalist lovers strike me as being pretty selfish people who project their own selfishness onto the rest of the world and just figure we're all born that way.

    • @dizzydean2767

      The problem with communism is it doesn’t reward people who are better at things than others. In a communist system people are supposedly equal even if one does their job substantially better than the other. This bogs down the motivation to work hard because why work hard if someone who does way worse than you are supposedly the same. Communism doesn’t reward uniqueness at all. Capitalism rewards those who separate themselves from the common individual people who can bring new ideas. You can’t tell me with pure honesty that everyone deserves the same based on how they work. Not to mention the government has an absurd amount of power.

  • @biggoards2772
    @biggoards2772 Před 8 měsíci +4

    Capitalism isn't just "private ownership"; that is misleading asf! Capitalist economies are FREE TRADE systems that start out at the individual level and grow. Private ownership implies that both parties (trader/consumer) own their properties through the work and intellectual ingenuity they create (trader) or the investment of a product (consumer). They are given the OPPORTUNITY to grow their product and then the consumer decides if the product is worth investing in or consuming. Most important is the purpose of capitalism. *IT'S NOT TO MAXIMIZE PROFIT!* It's to maximize TRADE and build healthy economies through consumption and growth of a business *THROUGH THE MEANS OF PRODUCTION.* Too many people like you associate corruption with capitalism😑.

    • @IllustratetoEducate
      @IllustratetoEducate  Před 8 měsíci +3

      I didn’t say it’s just about private ownership. And I never drew the line from profit to corruption. You made that assumption on your own. And I think a healthy economy, free trade, and opportunity are all closely correlated with profit (which enables these things). I think for most in a Capitalist system, making money is a top priority, but not the only priority. Now innovation and efficiency (which I also mention in the video) are also part of Capitalist system as well. It’s almost like you didn’t watch the whole video. You must have stopped after the ownership point.

    • @biggoards2772
      @biggoards2772 Před 8 měsíci

      @@IllustratetoEducate You mentioned efficiency, but no mention of innovation. Also, your assertion of key figures contributing to the progression of both systems is confusing as both systems have technically been around for THOUSANDS of years in some form or another. I don't understand the key figures section. If you meant economic key figures, I think I can understand where you're going. I also think it would help to distinguish the various causes for inequality in capitalism and why communism fails constantly. These simple explanations don't paint an accurate clear picture for either systems. Do you know of Ryan Chapmans channel? If you look at the way he addresses his topics, it's quite thorough.

      @@maxofficial2 Socialist countries have a worse environmental record than capitalist ones, thanks to capitalism food is much, much more abundant than it once was such that humanity has escaped the Malthusian trap, and the soft power of economics helps to prevent war through trade.
      Communism would reduce humanity back to a primitive state, rejecting human flourishing in the name of some other ideal. It would cause the death and suffering of millions if not billions as the human population was devastated.

    • @Nanofuture87
      @Nanofuture87 Před 8 měsíci

      @@maxofficial2 The socialist countries I'm talking about are the Soviet Union, Maoist China, etc. Deaths due to climate have fallen _dramatically_ thanks to capitalism and once capitalist countries become wealthy they tend to start valuing the environment more. Advanced economies are already cleaning up their acts, even when you account for imports from developing economies.
      The only reason there is so much food is because of capitalism. The notion that you could change distribution without also affecting production is nonsense. Capitalism has eliminated mass famines from the face of the planet outside of war zones. Things are far, far better than they were before.
      The military industrial complex isn't the result of capitalism, it's the result of the government, of statism. Was it companies that went to war or was it the government?
      The last part is based on the historical conditions of primitive communism with hunter gatherer societies and an understanding of basic economics. Communism is anti-human trash. Supporting socialism or communism in the 21st century is analogous to supporting fascism in my eyes.

    • @Nanofuture87
      @Nanofuture87 Před 8 měsíci

      @@maxofficial2 There are plenty of studies that you can look up yourself. The socialist countries focused much more on heavy industry and their inefficient processes required much more energy than their capitalist contemporaries. The environmental impacts were devastating. That's before even getting into utterly ridiculous policies like Mao's war on sparrows.
      Sure, we could have stayed in pre-capitalist poverty and had a pristine environment. That would be great, right? This is what I mean by socialists having other ideals than human flourishing. There are always trade offs to be made. I'll take climate change over primitivism any day.
      Do you seriously need for me to explain that distribution does not occur in isolation, that production decisions are made based on future expectations including distribution? You're living in a fantasy land if you think you can radically restructure the economy without affecting production. The world is not static, conditions are constantly changing and capital goods need to be replaced as they are used up.
      There is no "capitalist class", that's Marxist collectivist nonsense. The individuals in the US government work for their own interests, which tends to be getting re-elected and enriching themselves. It's no coincidence that the military industrial complex is spread out across the entire United States, it's effectively a massive jobs program that makes it near impossible to dismantle as most districts get a piece of the action.
      It would happen basically like how I mentioned above. Capital goods would be consumed and not replaced and improved, inefficiencies would multiply, higher time preferences would result in wealth destruction as the hard work of centuries was undone. It's not baseless at all.
