"I'm just a girl standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her" The most memorable line in romcom films history! especially when it's translated into my language
Hey, could you please share what the translation would be like? I'd love to know...
@@valor4788 in Lao language: "ຂ້ອຍກໍ່ເປັນພຽງຜູ້ຍິງຄົນໜຶ່ງທີ່ຢືນຕໍ່ໜ້າຜູ້ຊາຍ ເພື່ອອ້ອນວອນໃຫ້ລາວຮັກ"
In karaoke pronouncing: koi ka pen phieng phou ying khon neung thee yeun tor nar phou xay, phuea orn vorn hai lao hak
@@alounnakhamhoung7333 oh my god! 😭 Thank you so much! The 'begging' emotion makes it so much more profound for me! Thank you so much! :)
@@valor4788 you're most welcome
It`s good, but surely it`s - `Here`s looking at you, kid` ?!
I love how he kindly calls her out for her "foul temper". Something that she showed in the scene when he opens the door to the paparazzi. I also think it's funny how she says "the fame thing isn't real".... Something he tried to make her see on that same scene, but she was too caught up in her anger and spewing nasty comments to him at the time. He is really the only person with the character to make her accountable for her earlier behavior.
Well, thanks for the explanation , which nobody who had seen the film required. Love your work, don't call us, we'll call you soon, I assure you!
@@68Boca you dont need to read something you dont want to. That is all.
The face acting by both of them in this scene is fantastic. Julia's when she reacts to the bad news, and Hugh's at the end of her "I'm just a girl" monologue. Just fantastic acting.
You can tell this guy loves her through the fact that he has patience to hear her out, and asked the customer to leave immediately. When I confessed to a guy, I didn’t know what to say. He became impatient as he had a set routine and schedule. At that time, I just didn’t want to say it anymore. I eventually shared it just to find closure and give him up. I don’t like a guy who’s not even generous with his time with a girl when she’s confessing her love to him.
Great acting by both!
And ladies and Gentlemen, that is why Julia Roberts was the highest paid female actor at that time!!!
It must've taken a lot not to just reach out and hug her.
He'd trusted before and been ruined by that trust before.
My definition of a WOMAN/MS JULIA ROBERTS' character in.this movie because it's already in.her soul. 🌹
very beautiful movie !
there is a lot of conflict falling in love with someone famous is not easy at all . very classic very good movie !
And that totally left him speechless
this is why movies are made

Me now!!! How am I standing at this point? I have to beg him to love me.
I liked Bjarne Stroustrup cameo and leaving immediately without even thinking. 0:12
Martin is funny
❤❤❤❤
Then why did she dismiss him when he came to her shooting
I wonder if ever a straight man has looked up this scene
Ummmm....🙋♂
@@okcameronfilms thank you. Now I don’t have to wonder anymore.
ofc
Guilty as charged
Are you kidding me??? I’m hetero, and I’ve rewatched this movie like 4-5 times, and this particular scene dozens of times. It’s just so honest, vulnerable, heartfelt, and exactly what my romantic soul would wish to do in such a situation 😊
Simply perfect, as is every single second of this movie 🤩
I'm the 1k person to hit the thumbs-up button.
Bu filmi kaç kere izlediğimi hatırlamıyorum. Ama bu sahne çok dokunaklı

Notting hill is one of London's top notch neighborhood
Yeah so? I’ve been there. It’s not bad
But men never get it....jeje

I didn't understand the cue phase of " its your mother on your phone"...can anyone expound
His mother was calling him
@@ameliashania but it's "on the phone"..more frequently than "on your phone"
@@cowboystyle4513 landline
@@cowboystyle4513 -- yes. "on the phone" means a call either incoming or outgoing. If someone in your house calls to you while you're trying to have a phone conversation you would call back "I'm on the phone!" -- even if it were a mobile or you were borrowing somebody else's phone. Likewise, if you call to someone to notify them of an incoming call, you would say "it's your mother on the phone" as James Dreyfus does here.
You would only say "on your phone" to emphasise whose phone if there were more than one. And even then it's subtle -- in an office environment with several landlines you would probably say "on your line". But with mobiles you'd probably say "she's on YOUR phone".
@@philipdw2007 jeez do we have to explain that nowadays? Boy do I feel old.
this doesn’t work I tried
It was tried on me after ten years of her drinking and bad mouth and apologies. I almost accepted her until she snapped right back from her Julia-moment into her bad-mouth self.
@@RideAcrossTheRiver sorry to hear you went through something like this. Glad you cared enough to save yourself. She is only one who can facilitate change. My situation different but still sincere
