- சுமார் 2000 வருடங்களுக்கு முன்னர், தமிழகத்தின் ஆயுத்த நகரில் (தற்போதைய கன்னியாகுமரி), இருந்து செம்பவளம் என்ற பாண்டிய இளவரசி கடல் மார்க்கமாக கொரியா சென்று மன்னர் சுரோவை திருமணம் செய்துள்ளார்கள். அவர்களின் வழித்தோன்றல்களே இன்றைய Kim மற்றும் Heo வம்சாவளியினர். அந்த இளவரசியின் கொரிய பெயர் Heo Hwang-Ok என்பதாகும், இன்றும் பலர் நம் இளவரசியை கடவுளாக கும்பிடுகின்றனர். அந்த இளவரசி கொரிய மக்களுக்கு நம் மொழி, கலாச்சாரம், பழக்கவழக்கங்களை கற்றுக்கொடுத்துள்ளார். அதற்க்கு சான்றாக இன்றும் கொரிய மொழியில் கிட்டத்தட்ட 500 மேற்பட்ட தமிழ் வார்த்தைகளை காணமுடியும், இதேபோல அவர்களின் உணவு, விளையாட்டு போன்றவற்றில் தமிழர்களின் தாக்கத்தை காணலாம். நாம் விளையாடும் பன்னாங்கல் விளையாட்டை அவர்கள் Gonggi என்ற பெயரில் விளையாடி வருகின்றனர். ஆனால் நம் இளவரசிக்கு உத்தரபிரதேச அரசு உரிமைகோரி அவர் தற்போதய அயோத்தியா நகரை சேர்ந்தவர் என கூறி நமக்கு கிடைக்கவேண்டிய பெருமைகளை தட்டிப்பறித்துள்ளனர். இதுபோல சுவாரஸ்யமான தகவல்களை இந்த பதிவில் பார்க்க போகிறோம். தயவு செய்து முழுமையாக இந்த காணொளியை பார்க்கவும். மறக்காமல் “சங்கத்தமிழன் TV”க்கு Subscribe பண்ணிடுங்க. நன்றி வணக்கம்.
2000 years before, a Tamil Princess 'Sembavalam' from the Ayutha kingdom (present Kanniyakumari) traveled to Korea and married the King Kim Suro. She has traveled by ship with her servents and landed near the Jeju islands of Korea. After their marriage, their descendants are called Kim and Heo, even today. The Korean name of our Tamil Queen is Sembavalam is Heo Hwang-Ok, which means Red Jade. Sembavalam teaches our traditional cultures and language to the Korean people. Even today we can see lots of Tamil words in the Korean Language, for example, Korean called their parents as Appa and Amma. Similarly, more than 500 Tamils word in the Korean language and even their grammar is more similar to Tamil grammar. Apart from this, we can see lots of cultural similarities between Korean and Tamils. For example, Koreans play a stone game called 'Gonggi', which is exactly the same as Tamils 'Pannangal'. Also Koreas famous event 'Ganggangsullae' was similar to our 'Kummi'. Also we can find lots of similarities between the foods of Tamils and Korean, for example, Kimchi, Kolukattai, Pori urundai etc.

It's been wonderful to experience similarities -- and try to use my Malayalam skills to learn Korean. I hope you can translate this into English.I found it because my students taught me to play gonggi. I was curious about it and started Googling info about it. I was surprised to find it is played in Tamil Nadu also!
