It occurs to me, that with turrets on top and on bottom of your homeship's blade-shape, when enemies are coming toward it, you should try to face your wedge directly toward (or away from) them to engage both your top and bottom turrets
game looks awsome.

The main drive playing homeworld was that you experience the fate of an alien, humanoid civilisation in another, unknown galaxy. As they appear as human destroys everything, from logic to imagination. As i child, i loved to imagine how they look like, also the Bentusi and the Taiidan and the good thing was, that it was never revealed, but now.... THANKS!

RTS in those days had SP and multiplayer so yeah it had multiplier. The first one is considered the best one. JUst a clasic. The remaser for 1 broke ship formations which was very important for that game. The same thing in the opening scene was what happened in the cut scene. Its the explanation for the Homeworld comentater naration.
The VA for Intel sounds like the Democracy Officer from Helldivers 2 (The guy standing next to the mission select). I wouldn't be surprised if they're the same VA.

For me 5-5-5 is Starcraft. Specifically Terrans... I think it's the transport ship?
grrr... now I have to choose between watching Quill18 play it and playing it myself. I don't want to spoil the story, I've been waiting for this for YEARS. Sorry Quill, you're going to have to wait until I finish my own first playthrough. I'll proably have to buy a new gaming system to be able to run this, though.
Quill what type GPU you have atm, going to be buying GRE in July and want to make sure I am good enough to play this. I seen few people play this with 3080's and have fps problem on the first release.

@@SimpleM4N because he took a sponsorship deal? Get over yourself. Content creators have to pay the bills somehow, and sponsorship deals really help with that. In the years that I have been watching Quill, it is evident that he doesn't just take deals for cash grabs; he takes them when they are interesting to him, and that, in turn, helps expose the channel to new/related content.
Oh quill you are missing soooooo much lore, i hope you play the other 4 games someday. Homeworld deserts of karak, Homworld 1, homeworld emergence, and homeworld 2. In that order for the story

@quill18 I am only 6 minutes in to the video at this point, but I assume you are going to plan on going back and playing all of the original Homeworlds. You should also look into the Deserts of Kharak RTS game that is a spinoff game of the series. This series is one of my absolute favorites and am so psyched for you to eventually get the full experience that I went through back in the day.
Still don't get people's hate. Anyway have you checked the History video that gives you HM1&2 context? They did a great with including context, like Sands and Sinners makes a nice curse from people who spent 4000 years in exile on a desert planet.
You don't? It's rather obvious - the story being so lacking and the shrek-style animations from the cutscenes are enough to hate this game.
@@bruhurb848 I mean it's not a hugely involved plot but having not played(lied, I played the desert one) the other games I don't see it as lacking. And so the animations, what the hell does shrek-style mean? If your trying to say the movie shrek looks bad and so does this, that's a personal opinion and it's not "rather obvious" so half of you statement is garbage. The other half is debatable.
@@andrewgoehring9108 "Garbage" my ass lol. When the Incarnate Queen confronted Karen in that dream her movements felt goofy as hell, and really did remind me of Shrek. The execution ended up being jarring and I do not find that debatable.
As for debatable, I can give you a bit of a pass for that. But your own "garbage" remark about my statement can be left in the trash bin, cause that scene was just too goofy to take seriously in any way.
@@bruhurb848 It's still your opinion, I apologize, I didn't mean to say your opinion is garbage. I meant to say that it was subjective and therefore not an obvious truth like you were making it out to be. The story is debatable, I don't know the full thing and whether it's good or not might also vary from person to person. It may be, in technical terms done badly.

did you get paid to make this? if you did you need to mark it as a paid ad. which makes the marker in the top left in the preview in youtube searches (which is how i noticed it).
Umm ya he did say it was sponsored, and the title has a #ad in it. Which I'd assume he was getting paid for, you know to play the game and showcase it, but I doubt he's paid to only say good things about it.

You know I'm not sure why were talking about it, I guess I misunderstood what you were asking cause it wasn't directed at random people was it. I can say though he can totally shit all over the game if he's willing to accept the consequences of probably not getting another sponsorship. Considering he's never played a homeworld game before he may not care for a second one. Also calling it a bribe, while I understand what you mean it's...well just technically wrong, and kinda unfair to companies and people who are legitimate about these deals. Not that I can %100 be sure that quill is among that group. Benefit of the doubt I guess is all.

and by the way, these videos are all public, thats the whole point, so acting like only the company that has been slighted will notice the "betrayal" is really naive. and it is a betrayal, because the company will feel betrayed if it pays someone and they shit on the game. once again, this is really naive to not know.
btw this game sucks and is 42% on steam. anyone that accepted money to cover this literally was being bribed. their coverage was bought and their silence was bought. this is an amazing deal for gearbox. they got a lot for their money. any serious coverage of this game (that isnt pure shilling) will be extremely negative.
Three hours in and this still feels like the tutorial... does it actually turn into a proper game with decisions to make at any point?
'Build x of this', 'send them to this point', 'more enemies detected, destroy them', 'here's some new ships, do this with them'.
Feels like you're just clicking the buttons to carry out actions for the Intel guy, rather than finding a way to accomplish something.

Yep, they have a great engine, great mechanics, about 6 story missions that exist only to show off those mechanics, it's half a game at best, a tech demo in pretty clothing at worst
I feel sorry for Quill. He abandoned his greatest skillset, teaching people how to code, to streaming games in an era where games have uniformly all become utter trash. Like this game.

This is fucking perfect... Finally, they gave Homeworld the feel it needed for the next stage of the story. Glad they didn't fall to wokeism like so many game devs these days. Memories of simpler days with games actually having hope of being a good medium. The haters on this are very obviously as mentally unstable as they get.
