- The last day of practice before race day at the 2020 UCI Mountain Bike World Championship Downhill race in Leogang, Austria, still has the best riders on the planet searching for lines. Race day forecast is for snow and rain, so drying track from today will not resemble competition conditions. Bring it on! #MTB #downhill #VitalRAW

My problem with "snow on race day" is that there might not be a race day if it happens! I just want some rain, so maybe Ángel Suárez can become a UCI World Champion by starting OVER TWO HOURS before the top contenders and 20-30 minutes before anyone decent and the UCI notices how stupid their format of competition still is in 2020.
Yes, the UCI needs to change the format of competition. My wish is the following one (has been like this for a few years):
· Friday or saturday = Qualifying, top60 of men elite (and top30 of everything else) go through
· Sunday morning = Elite men's elimination, top30 or less (maybe top20?) go through
· Rest of sunday = Proper races
This would eliminate most of the bullshit, both in the World Championship and in the World Cup too.
Well would be fun to see som snow, but honestly it would sux if they cancel it as they previously said. So better no snow, but if it rains a bit, overnight or early morning would promise a fun day :D
is there a detail App that tracks all the shox and how high or deep it goes included lean angle????
Some cathrovison would be class on this track🤔
It would...if he didn’t snap his neck
Was thinking the same thing
yes it would........Yes it would.
Media have restrictions due to Covid.
So fun! It makes me miss riding downhill
please get back between the tape
what do you think is the gnarliest section? Looks like the stump section is going to take some dice rolls lol
And it misses you to monsieur.
Do it.
Get back into dh
Could watch this for hours, thanks Vital MTB to let us see how the practice are going ❤️
Love to watch this kind of video
So wicked to see Brook back to riding, and killing it. Long Live Bulldog. NZ foreva!!
the sickest!!!
Thank you vital!!!
Great coverage... again! Keep it up!!!
An unpredictable track means unpredictable results! Gotta love that!
Lots of that track reminds me of UK upliftdays I have been on, proper sloppy and steep fun.
Loris is really good at bikes
Eddie couldn't refrain the spirit of enduro on that inside line
Loris is really looking lit. Nice skills!
So sick!
Brilliant! Gnarly as FOOK! 🤙
In the clips I've seen, Harrison looks like he's flying! 🚀

Cool, love it
1:09 how kind of him to blow his horn at us!😊
Jack’s composure in the steeps is making everyone else look stupid
Yeaaa boy.
So funny watching them practice trying to shave a third of a second on that corner knowing that on race day it's all going to come down to who survives the mud
That yellow/green canyon kit is the worst is horrendous 😅😅
I don't know - seems to suit Jack with his big floaty style
i think it looks really cool tbh
Nice
Zero dislikes just how it should be
Reece Wilson looking fast and direct.
these skills I will only observe from a side line ;)
were there any bikes hurt during this video?
wow, respect to those bike manufacturers
crazy fun, how many riders are on those white Fox 40's haha..
LorisV looks to be up to speed the most. Is he doesn’t crash.
STILL GONNA SEND IT
Matt walker looking fast for the UK.
The trail is very hard.
The race Was hot
Loris looks on another level 😳
We need to see the b roll with the slams
waoooow nice nice nice nice👍🚴💨🚴💨
Imagine the whistles are saying yeet. You're welcome
Lmao did he hit that lady 5:08
The lady was on the track where she was not allowed to be.
he ran over her leg u can see the fork compresing right as he rides over her
I don't find that funny, what the hell is she doing there? Isn't the track hard enough already without stupid people blocking the way?
Go Loris Go!
loris rulessss
how many practice runs do they get per day?
World Champ @5:04 :)
2:04 seems AG got 26 back wheel lol
Gnarly
5:22 ye boi
A whole different level of riding, I see myself as a pretty capable rider (not amazing but also not overly bad😂) but what these guys are able to ride is shit I’d be off walking at.
what does the blow of the whistle mean
Rider on course
Loris Vergier is a fucking mad man
what's up with the dude with the whistle?
After all these years of watching this sport, I cannot believe that these guys don’t wear body armor.
They do. In fact it is mandatory. Most of them wear the armour under their jersys though.
@@krazy8820 Really? It must be super low profile!
Zachary Fett Finn Iles made a video on his yt channel on what armor he wears
@@leonvoit3597 I'll check it out. Much appreciated!
@@zacharyfett2491 Its crazy huh! Yeah the Finn Iles vid is a really great insight to what they wear. Its preyy minimalistic
So « bikeparky »...
Says no one, no more.
1:55 danny hart?
Yes, i think so.
Yep
Why does the person blow the whistle as every rider passes?
It informs riders and spectators that another rider is coming. They are called marshalls =)

Lol...was that Luca at 2:36
Loris Vergier

Surely 27.5 wheels with plus tyres with a wide spaced spike pattern would work better in the step sloppy rooty stuff. Why doesn't anyone try it.
🤣
@@RamsayMacFarlane You obviously know why, like to tell me?
@@kennyfenny4754 ah sorry dude, I thought you were joking! A plus tyre wouldn't stand a chance under these guys - tyre width has been consistent in gravity competition for a long time. The extra weight, folding sidewalls, drag - then there's the float effect of a bigger surface area when you really want a narrower tyre to slice through the soft stuff and find the real grip (cyclocross style)...
@@RamsayMacFarlane
oh, I see. I just thought having a wider deeper softer tyre would roll over off camber roots better. But guess you loose out everywhere else.
I watched this which made me wonder. Interesting results though.
czcams.com/video/w6TMA2vI8bA/video.html
when it gets muddy, the tires get skinnier and spikier so they can cut through the slop instead of float and slide. check out some of the DH bikes here - www.vitalmtb.com/tags/2020_uci_mountain_bike_world_championships_event?taggable=photos
5:06 stand back Karen.
Why do i have to hear a person with a whistle on every run? Is this some fan, or is it one of the organizers? It totally throws me off everytime i hear it, and I can imagine it has the same effect on the riders. These people need to devote 100% of their attention to not crashing, which is why I think it's very dangerous to let people do this.
The race marshalls use the whistles to communicate to the next marshall down that there is a rider on the way down to them.
The marshals blow a whistle every time a rider passes, letting people further down the track know there's someone on their way down, or close behind them etc...
Diviš Čadílek it’s extremely safer with the whistles. Makes everyone aware of where people are on track.
@@markf3940 Well the stupid woman at 5:08 didn't get it. Luckily the rider didn't crash.
