As much as Harry would’ve loved to see the Cubs win a World Series, Harry was always a St. Louis Cardinals fan at heart. Being born in St. Louis and calling Cardinals games for 24 years, Harry actually did get to see his true beloved team, the Cardinals, win the World Series in 1964 & 1967 and actually blow a 3-1 lead to the Detroit Tigers in the 1968 World Series. Although Harry was known before becoming the Cubs announcer, he gained most of his popularity & fame as a Cubs announcer. And yes, he did love the Cubs too.

Thanks for posting this. Harry is an icon.I remember this conversation and how much I was laughing. Is there a posting of his conversation with Steve about seedless grapes?
