I think Raimi corrupted me as a kid. When James gives a warning of a truly awful kill in a movie about sentient trees, I was concerned about something completely different than what it is.

The kills here, especially the baby kill, really had a Troma feel with a little bit of Santa's Slay to distinguish it a bit. The kid death in the 1988 "The Blob" remake is still the scariest to me personally, and I'm hoping they do a proper Kill Count for that classic film.

I remember when I visited Pirate Bay to download Hobo with a Shotgun (it was 15 bucks on XBOX Live, had no money to see it), and I saw a comment by Jason Eisener himself. He basically said: "Download the movie if you want, but PLEASE support us in any way you can."
I bought the DVD a few months later, and I'm so happy for his success.
He's so real, I've had a couple random interactions with him online over the years.
@@Barloq133IC2S He certainly is, and we need more guys like that in the business. I remember listening to the DVD commentary for Hobo, Rutger is sitting there PRAISING Jason to the moon. Jason clearly felt that he didn't deserve the praise, but Rutger wouldn't hear it.
Rutger then goes on to motivate future filmmakers by basically telling them to NEVER give up, to just MAKE things...and I never forgot that.

I first saw Treevenge years ago. That last kill has always stuck with me because I can’t think of another film doing it. It’s been my go-to Christmas film ever since.

I live about an hour away from Halifax, in a small town called Truro. I've met Jonathan Torrens a few times and have pictures with him.
He is hands down one of the nicest people I've met. I met the whole Trailer Park Boys crew and him, along side Robb Wells, were two of the absolute nicest, funniest and kind hearted people you'd meet. Super down to earth.

I can only imagine how much fun the actors had filming this! I still feel sympathy for the tree charavters (at least in the beginning), but the human bad guys are so cartoonish and over-the-top that makes this so enjoyable to watch.
