honestly was really hard trying to make a 10 minute video out of all the lore in elden ring in a comedic way.
i tried my best to simplify it in a way where the story is still okay, but had to cut out a LOOTTT of content.
This is also my first time drawing these deformed stick figures with my mouse on ms paint/photo shop and THAT took the life of my hands away, so in the end im actually glad i cut out a lot of sht because if i made a 30 min video in this style, say good bye to my hands lol.
in the end this took 2 weeks to make soooo enjoy the video!

Great Video! My only complaint is that Marika and Radagon were unified before the shattering since the reason why Miquella and Malenia are cursed is because they were conceived by a single god. So basically Marika and Radagon aren't two people fused together but two halves of one god.

What I learned from this is that if you lose to Maliketh, it should erase your game save. Because his blade stops you from resurrecting.

Not delete your gamesave because that would be f'ed up, but it would be interesting to maybe just scare the player with a different dying scene or something like that

This theory makes sense, considering it’s heavily implied that Godfreys age was much more crucible-coded and Radagon/Marikas age was much more N*zi-coded
@@NiightRunnerrWhen Godfrey was first made Elden Lord the Golden Order was chill with Omens and Misbegotten (even considering the horns etc as Holy hence the look of the Crucible Knights).
At some point (maybe after Radagon appeared I’m not sure it could be earlier than that) things became much more exclusionary and anti-Crucible. It’s possible that Morgott was raised as a true Prince for a short time before this change in his mother and her order’s views but u haven’t seen anything to support this.
@@maximilliannewcombe1719 Rogier describes that in the beginning of the golden orders rule they were much less ridged. Probably during the wars for Lyndell, the giants, and maybe liurnia were all times they were more. The troll sword I think describes that the trolls allied themselves with Lyndell during the war with the giants but the cairan house has troll knights up to the present so i doubt they were as accepting after they destroyed one of the last true threats to the golden orders.
Though I feel the stormviel castle was the last time that Godfrey lead forces into battle and soon after he was banished so too were all the crucible influence in the golden orders.
I couple of Lore inaccuracies but I can chalk that up to comedic effect which I respect, SmoughTown does amazing long form videos that could be similarly summarized in this comedic style I highly recommend them.
great video, gonna send it to my friends who didnt understand the lore, but one correction for around 5:40 : mohg was not sent to underworld, he was supposed to be at leyndell sewers along with other omens. we fight an “illusion” of Mohg in the sewers, since he’s actually supposed to be there. but in reality, mohg found another outer god, I think it was called formless mother or something, that relates to all those bleed stuff. But since Mohg is an Omen, not an Empyrean he cannot be a vessel for Greater Will, so he kidnapped his half brother Miquella(who is an Empyrean) in his cocoon after the shattering, to the underworld to “wed” Miquella and and be Elden Lord(?) as his consort, via inheriting Elden Ring and empowering HIS OWN outer god. I kind of messed up explaining in the end because of the small screen of mobile comment section but it’s something like that.

@@ZVLIAN yes the DLC is about some other realm, there are speculations about that but most people think that (so do I ever since I beat Mohg and saw the cocoon) we’re gonna access DLC by touching Miquella’s hand, and teleport to that other land. Apparently, that land is “where Marika first set foot” and seperated from the Lands Between. The red haired figure in the DLC trailer, Messmer is Marika’s son who resides in that shadowland or whatever it’s name is.

When Radagon married Marika, all of his children, Ranni, Radahn and Rykard all gained the status of demigod, also, Ranni killed her body and killed only godwyn's soul, in a successful attempt to escape the greater will control, they then buried godwyn's body near the tree's roots in an attempt to do something, thats why you can find hidden in some places roots that have godwyn's squid face (his body turned into a weird fish when they killed his soul)
Yes, Godwyn is in a weird state of being dead but not really. His soul is gone, but his body remains there, alive. This put him in this unique state that no one really understands, and due to his power as a demigod and Marika's firstborn heir, his influence starts spreading through the roots of the Erdtree. I love Godwyn's portion of the story because the fact that he'll likely one day consume all of the Lands Between despite the fact that he's technically dead and not even there anymore adds this Lovecraftian feeling to it.
Finally someone explaining the lore in a simple way a pea brain like me can acftually understand

It skips over a lot of stuff, so I would recommend still looking a other things. It is useful to get a timeline though.

Ok. Time for me to fix all the errors and missed details.
A. Rune of death is a T with black and red. The rune you drew is a mending rune, and the complete hollowbranch created when the same halfmark was cut through Godwyn's and Ranni's body.
B. The unalloyed came before the Carians. This is going to be long. When Marika took away death, it was before she fought the fire giants. This is evident because instead of fire giants dusting away, their bodies remained. Godfrey was bansihed after the last fire giant cursed Marika to become the very thing she tried to rid of, and cloned herself to create Radagon. She had 3 children, who would be Miquella, Malenia, and unexpected twist, Melina. Miquella and Malenia would become twins, but Marika had different plans for Melina. She would hold destined death after it was rid from the world. However, Melina didn't like that much, so decided to kill gods with it instead, creating an entirely new fire, and creating legions of god-slayers, called Godskin Apostles. Godskin Nobles are later decendants that forcus more on their physical dexterity than their scorching fire. Marika got scared and called Maliketh to beat Melina, which somehow worked... Anyways, then Maliketh would get the rune of death, then Marika would send Radagon to fight in Caria, but Radagon pulled the ultimate No U. He married his enemy instead. This, again, led to 3 children you already know from this video. Now, the thing that proves the unalloyed came before the carians is the fact Gloam Eyed Queen is releted to the unalloyed. She must have died in order for Maliketh to get the rune of death, and Maliketh must have the rune of death for Rykard to know Maliketh's power, and create the blasphemous Claw to counteract Maliketh. Rykard is the batman of Elden Ring.
C. The tarnished are decendants of the ancient tarnished that led the march alongside Godfrey. Everyone you meet in the Roundtable hold, had the same ancestors as you, and their family marched with Godfrey. The problem is, 5,000 years is a long time, and the tarnished kinda went everywhere after Godfrey died, which explains why you can choose from different classes of tarnished, and meet some completely different to you in the Roundtable.
D. Mohg wasn't sent to the underground. He went to the sewers as same as Morgott, but the key difference is that Morgott stayed loyal while Mohg seeked the Formless Mother. The Formless Mother would enhance Mohg's cursed blood abilities, and turn him into the lord of blood. Morgott would stay loyal, and soon become the commander of the Night's Calvary. During the shattering war, the sewers were weakened, and two of the steongest omens broke free, and went on two different paths. One followed the Formless Mother into the underground we know as Mohgwyn Palace, and another stayed behind to defend the Erdtree, who was later unofficially given the title "king".
E. Godfrey wasn't banished due to Marika. Godfrey's failure to stop the curse of the Fire Giant, him soon being blinded by Grace, and his heritage to omens were all causes of his banishement.
F. Dragon Communion is different from Dragon Cult. Dragon communion is a herisy of eating dragon hearts for their abilities, and they are mostly from younger generation of dragons, mimicing the look of wyverns. Dragon cult is from Ancient Dragons which has a scale of Gravelstone, almost impenetrable both lorewise and gamewise. Seriously, you can't kill these guys after NG+ due to their increase in immunity and resistances.
one more that is perhaps the most important is that the crucible did not create life and the erdtree did not hijack it (the crucible is explicitly referred to as the primordial erdtree)

I always looked at it like Marika created Radagon as a persona for herself to escape control of the Greater Will. Like she banished the Tarnished purposefully, with a plan to bring the back at an opportune time, as well as connecting the royal families of Leyndell and Liurnia by blood, in order to create a future free of the Elden Ring, Erdtree, and Greater Will.
This is correct, radagon is marika. Marika turned herself into Radagon to take advantage of Renalla.
They were never separate as you can tell by the goldmask ending

But... she had won? She was the God of the Golden Order. She was the one being worshipped, not the Greater Will. And I'm pretty sure she still had personal autonomy, since the gods don't get mind controlled into not acting like mortals until Goldmask makes his mending rune.

Great and funny video. Clearly 10 mins can only contain the very core base of the lore. I started a new playthrough with a friend and took him to plat without spoilering him too much things through the journey. Finished the game he had questions abt the lore...so I sent him the Vaati's lore playlist and he was "nah i'm not watching all that" 😐😐.

I would like to add a little of information. When talking about Dragon Cult the video shows a Dragon Communion temple. I don't think they are related. The first one became friends with the dragons and learn from they, while the other killed and ate dragon's heart.

Good video but there were a few inaccuracies such as The Great Tree predating The Erdtree (The Great Tree is just a term for big ass trees) or The Erdtree being a parasite (It's the evolved form of The Crucible which is the origin of all life) but I do enjoy the humor lol
I am 3 minutes and an I am actually surprised by how simplified this is, and how much it actually is covering
Great video! One note, it's a common misconception but the Great Tree and Crucible weren't a part of the same being.
The Great Tree was what came first until something took it out (most likely the Greater Will), then the Crucible formed out of it through a process called "sprouting." Often seen in nature, it's a process where multiple branches sprout out of a seemingly dead stump to the point where it can become a tangled mess, and from the Great Tree the tangled mess would eventually form into the Crucible
This growth and twisting of the branches continues as the branches compete for nutrients. Before long, one branch merges as the dominant trunk, thus becoming the main body of the reemerging tree. In this case, that main branch would become the Erdtree.
Simply put, if placed on a time line it goes Great Tree -> Crucible -> Erdtree.
Sorry, the rune Marika took from the Elden Ring was the Death rune, but the image shown is not the death rune, it is the mending rune of the Death Prince, a whole completely different rune. Just wanted to ya'll know.
This is a lot of theory to be clear, like the great tree theory stuff is built on a pretty flimsy amount of “evidence”
There was another tree during the time when the dragons held the great rune.

@@Youshallbeeatenbyme what do you mean by “Farum Azula”? Is there something specific in Farum Azula you are referring to? Nothing in Farum Azula refers to a great tree as far as I know, there are roots, but they are connected to trees that we can see on the island.
As far as I know, there is no text in game referring to the Erdtree explicitly “usurping” a different tree.
I know the theory, and why a lot of people believe it to be true, but it is by no means confirmed. Great tree root resin could just as well refer to the Erdtree, as it is a very great tree. As well as this the Japanese translation seems to interchangeably call the Erdtree “The Great Tree”
I’m not saying it is definitely not true, I am saying that this video seems to talk about it as if it is generally accepted, which it is not
@Argos_RB The stone slab pictures in Farum Azule have a depiction of a large tree with a different orientation for the Elden Ring. I don't remember where in game I found someone talking about the rise of the golden order, but I remember them talking about how the golden order grew a tree in secret until they were ready to confront placidusax as the Elden Lord and usurp the Elden Ring.
The roots are also another big tell that there was another erd tree... as I don't think the "great tree" was something all that different from the golden orders tree.

So I'm working on an Elden Ring Theory and some Playthrough Headlore -- (since its gonna be my first time beating the main camp.) I was wondering if anyone else thinks Ranni and Rennala are the same? Like how Marika strove for godhood, Rainni was the result of her magickal incarnations or vessels. It became the ultimate vessel.
I dont know..and with the Scarlet Rot being the newest vessel for the next wave of Fire Giants.. there's a lot be said about how exactly they evolve into what they are

Rennala's depression was caused not only by Radagon's departure but also the suicide of Ranni and possibly the state of her other children as well. That's why she is obsessed only with the item that Radagon left with her, the item that lets her create new children

I love that idea of just taking death out of the equation, but then it’s gives reason to why we have it in the first place. Godwyn is what happens when death isn’t an option, it becomes stagnant and corrupt, like anything that lives beyond a purpose or can’t move on. God the whole Elden Ring lore is perfect.
