    a nice thing to add, is unlike most pepole think, the Escort Cabriolet wasn't made only in Germany, Karmann had back in the day a branch in Brazil, and made the Escort MK3, 4 and 5 Cabriolet over there for the brazilian and argentinian market between 1985 to 1995, most of the parts of the cabriolet came from Germany and the parts that were common to the hatchback were made locally
    the car is the same as the european one with differences only in equipment, such A/C and eletronically adjustable suspension, colours such yellow, dark red, pearl white and a very nice metallic blue, and engines.

      Hi, it’s D833 CPB. I’ve only had it a few months and have so far restored the interior to a good standard eg new door card, clock light surround, factory radio, de-rusting and respraying seat runners and various other metal parts and replacing worn seatbelts. Sadly the red paintwork isn’t looking quite as tidy as it was in your video so that will need doing next (not by me!)

    For some reason I woke up yesterday and decided I wanted to get a convertible for the summer. I don’t want to get anything new or younger than 10 years, so I’ve narrowed it down to the Ford Escort Cabriolet (mk3 or mk4) and the Mazda MX-5, which I’ve noticed is more abundant.
    Thank you for the excellent video!

      @cornishcarcollectors  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for the comment, glad you liked the video. XR3i Escorts are certainly good cars (the hardtops drive better). I think the Cabriolets are cheaper because they are not quite as desirable as the 'tin-tops', and there are more surviving convertibles (likely due to summer use, etc.). Good luck with your search and do stay tuned to the Channel.

    If you have any information how many are built mk4 convertibles and coupes even mk3 will be great
