A qb isn't great because of his arm or his legs. What makes him great is what's between his ears. Brady had a football brain.
Well said 👍💯🙋♀️
and he was lucky to be playing for good teams with a solid d and good coaching
@@polpol1005 he's very lucky to be drafted 199 overall, seriously
@@ianosaurus27 what does a luck have to do with draft? He obviously wasn't good enough for other teams, that was their call
@@polpol1005 It isn't luck when the success is this consistent. There are intangible qualities that matter much more than people realize and can't be easily measured. What made Brady great was that he took advantage of every opportunity he was ever given. And he adapted to what was needed of him at different points in his career.
His second to last season he was a toss up pick for MVP of the entire NFL. His last season he broke the all time pass/ completion record at 45. He could play at an elite level for another couple years that’s how good he was
Idk man during that last playoff game homie was shook about getting hit
@@MorningDew85 45.6 yers old *DUH!* Care to hear what he's done between age 40 and 45? Or better yet name me one guy who's even thrown a TD after the age of 42 > Brady's thrown 144 *homie*
Giselle ruined the twilight of his career sad
He was still the best quarterback in the league for several years after his prime. BEAST
The only reason he broke those records was that he played for so long, you realize that every record he broke will be easily surpassed by Mahomes.
If your old enough to remember Brady's 1st SB, Howie is exactly right. Going into that game there was no way possible New England could win. It was supposed to be the 2nd step of the Rams dynasty but instead it was the start of the greatest QB to ever live.
People who just recently started watching football would be confused listening to Madden say "boy I dunno, I think they should be playing for overtime" with almost 1 min 30 seconds left lol. Nowadays that feels like forever. And I still find it incredibly ironic that before that super bowl, Proehl said "Tonight, a dynasty is born." Well, he was 100% accurate! Haha
And the Rams went downhill after that, Brady totally deflated them (no pun intended)
Tom Brady really a inspiration to all of us ..like his perseverance was unmatched.his work ethic all of it ..he made u happy or he pissed you off either way he made u feel something
not really an inspiration for me but because it seems he got too obsessed with football and obsession is not a good thing IMO
@@polpol1005 I agree with you, he is less inspirational and more arrogant which drove him to continue playing. He is not the best QB, he couldn't hold a candle to Joe Montana and most of the QBs of that era. One reason, in particular, Brady couldn't have even called an entire game himself let alone 16 seasons. Joe Montana could have easily been more successful in today's game with today's offenses.
@@soonerdad3 good point
@@soonerdad3 I don't know, man. Your argument doesn't make sense because Montana was never a big stats guy, and other guys in his era could fill up the stat sheet far better than him. So if he and the other top QBs from his era were brought into this era, he still wouldn't have been much better relative to everyone else. What Montana had was the clutch gene and being great when it mattered most. But he also played with one of the greatest coaches and some of the greatest players (including the best WR in NFL history) without the same salary cap restrictions that exist today. So it's a tall order to say that he would have had the same career as Brady, even in this era. Look at Manning, who many argue was far more talented than Brady, but he still didn't have as great of a career as Brady. In truth, you can't really compare eras. There are too many factors.
What's inspirational about Brady is that he took advantage of every opportunity he was ever given. How many people can say the same? He wasn't expected to be what he became, while many others were handed the keys and didn't achieve a fraction of what he achieved in the league. And I am not saying he's the "best" QB at any one thing, but he is the greatest in that he's had the best career in NFL history. That's an objective fact - he's won more games than anyone else, gone to more Super Bowls, won more Super Bowls, and holds virtually all of the passing records in the regular season and playoffs. Other QBs may have been more talented than him, but pretending that what he's achieved regarding winning and statistics is just a fluke is irrational.
Being great is clearly about more than just talent. You have to perform. And Brady performed better than anyone else over the course of his career. That's greatness.
@@soonerdad3vb palaruin mo ngayon haha
That 2001 SB Super Bowl half time graphic, U2, was awesome. The TB12 career? Beautiful.
Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback ever period!!! 7 super bowl wins will never happen again. The GOAT period!!!!
👍💯🙋♀️
rings are overrated, it's a TEAM sport period
@@polpol1005 yes. That’s why every quarterback has been able to win 7 rings… wait
@@RigbyismyFavCatever meh, he would not have 7 Super Bowls if they didn't change the quarterback ruffing rules. Or if he played for bad team with bad coaching
@@polpol1005 So which of the 3 different decades he won a ring were the rules adjusted for him and no one else? LOL
I'm old Boston guy, watched the Patriots at Shafer stadium from 1965, many losing teams, 1/2 empty stadium until #12 came here, he transformed patriots from lowest Boston pro sports to the #1 top sport, Kraft and the NFL in general owe Brady a lot, the Patriots went from 1000's of fans to millions of fans, the money he's generated must be billions.
Yup... I go back to the Grogan days John. The Krafts owe Tom everything! 👍🏽
@@jerryjeromehawkins1712the krafts get a lot of credit my friend. Wouldn’t be a stadium in massachusetts without them. Zolak, Zolak, Zolak!!
I remember being a kid in New England and everyone was either a 49ers fan or a Cowboys fan and you were made fun of by other kids from New England for being a patriots fan but after that first Super Bowl where Tom marched down the field against the advice of The great Jhon Madden and won the game I noticed the next year that those same kids were now wearing patriots jerseys and shirts that is something I will never forget and the rest is history
The Superbowl after 9/11 was the first football 🏈 game I ever saw as a kid because I wanted to see U2 play the halftime show and I feel in love with the game and I became a Brady hardcore fan that day. Thank you Tom Brady for 2 decades of amazing moments ... Especially when you move to my hometown of Tampa and took our crappy team to the promise land
AS A GIANTS FAN ALL RESPECT TO TOM BRADY 👍(12) AND A GREAT CAREER ENJOY YOU'RE RETIERMENT CHAMP ✌️
Tom Brady was the epitome of underdog. His entire footballing life has been a fight for recognition or to be noticed. That fuel fanned the flames of the inferno that burned inside him.
Brady was overlooked because they looked at the outside not realising everything that made him great came from the inside of him…
He was the ultimate team mate and the greatest leader the NFL has ever seen.
They’ll never be another Brady
Tom Brady has a lot in common with another great one of a kind athlete. He is the Larry Bird of the NFL. Larry would never wow you with athleticism, speed or agility but he dominated the game. Tom Brady never beat his opponents with long flashy runs. Tom Brady never wowed you the way Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow or Josh Allen do but he dominated the game.
Well said
And as far as we know, Bird never got suspended for cheating.
And Bird could never beat Jordon for a championship, just like Brady never could beat Eli Manning! LOL!
@@unmalo2768 Bird beat Jordan every time they met in the playoffs

The NFL should give Brady the Gretzky treatment and induct him into the HOF immediately
why?

Right, Howie, 'breadth and scope'. For me, love you TB, Go Pats!
I disagree as he threw the ball as good as any! I was at the Carolina game and the three touchdowns to Mike Evans were a thing of beauty! And that’s at age 45.
So grateful he brought the Bucs a SB win and three great years of quality football!
Had BB played Butler, Brady would have had another ring.
TB12 had 3 great HOF careers, not just one. He duplicated the careers of Montana, Marino, and Aikman in his one career. TB12 played in multiple eras. The HOF QBs that retired from injuries Tom played against (Manning, Warner) or soon to be in the HOF (Big Ben).

I wish Howie could have “played forever”.
He already has CTE
BRADYS PRIME WAS LITERALLY HIS WHOLE CARRER
The NFL's first 100 years produced Tom Brady. It will spend the rest of it's existence chasing him.
Brady was the kind of leader who was desperately disappointed for those of his teammates he didn’t win a ring for - players like Randy Moss.
Kudos to TOM BRADY for twenty years as my teams QB. And a beautiful job done. I’m 52 now and I’m still thinking where did the time go? Don’t blink kiddos and don’t be in a hurry to grow up because time catches up with all of us. Life is fleeting. I’m gonna miss watching him play / work!
Great comments from an intelligent person
Definitely words are not enough to sum up the greatness of Tom Brady's and his NFL carrier but If I ever have explain it to next generations & sum it up in one sentence it will be like - I saw God of NFL QBs "Tom Brady" wearing No.12 jersey who used to play with New England Patriots & Tampa Bay Buccaneers for 23 years and won multiple championships each of the 3 decades. 2000s, 2010s, 2020s.
Said it just perfect like Brady was awinner
And if BB had not have sat Butler out, he would have had another ring.
Call me long foot Bradys story, so awesome de Julio point it’s just mind-boggling. Congratulations Tom Brady and thank you. Are we long?
Kind words Howie!!
For a guy to go to another team after 20 years with the Pats and win another championship is never going to be matched, for sure!
I’ve been a Patriots fan since the 80’s so to have a Tom Brady was just unprecedented. Im not a stat guy bottom line his career will never be duplicated.
to repeat tom brady you need a great team to last for decades, a great talent and he has to have great longevity and a bit of luck. those four things just arent going to come together again. if you dont get that you get manning or moon or marino or elway. each of those had the skills of brady, but not the teams or longevity and luck to win a few close games and not get injured.
Brady got most trophies he got the records that are unmatched goat
rings are overrated as this is a TEAM sport
@@polpol1005 Brady got more than rings he's got more records in playoff wins, passing yards, comebacks etc
@@chriswalls5831 Rings are overrated, if you are lucky to be a part of great team with good coach, you will win more than others, that's it. Similar for other stats. Imagine if he played for a bad team in difficult division.
SB 36 was special when the Pats came out as a team, rather than introducing the key players.
QB as a position is about 80% mental 20% physical. Brady was the absolute best at the 80% and was underrated at the 20%

Good point. Just think of how Kobe went out!
Mahomes will never touch Brady’s records
The same 'experts' that tell you "different eras" are the same idiots that attack his (actually really good numbers) in his first three Superbowls (pre-Manning rules).
His career won't matter to anyone decades from now. Anyone that thinks he'll be as revered 50 years after he's gone the same way Babe Ruth was is out to lunch.
Tommy FTX Brady!
Like him or not it's surreal that Tom Brady is retired. Wait until LeBron
Lebrons not even in the same category as Brady , Jordan or Bird .
With one exception... I was sad to hear Brady was retiring.
I don't know the League wans Patrick MaRefs to win every SB for the next ten years
And yet he is not retiring, just switching to the booth.
There are 375 million reasons why.
Never took Long for a dumb guy so this exchange was surprising.
This is delusional talk. There will eventually be a guy come in and win 4-5-6 in a row. And dominate .

It's a real shame his way over extended adolescence had to come crashing down...so sorry...bi.
Bill Russell won 11 championships, but between him and MJ, there's no argument who the GOAT is. In 5-10 years, we'll see Brady as the Bill Russell of the NFL.
👍💯🙋♀️
Except Brady has been the best single player in the NFL and had every record NBA analogy would be if Russell MJ and Lebron were 1 single player
@@davis2k1234 Brady has had some HOF defenses helping him out. I'm not gonna sit here and say he's not good but he's definitely had more luck than most qbs. Mahomes through his first 5 seasons is ahead in every stat besides sb wins, and if he wins next week, he's only behind 1.

Brady is the best pocket passer ever. Because getting things done trumps potential and ability every time.
It will never be matched because the refs won't hand out wins to any other QB the way the did Brady. Haha
Guess you missed Mahomes in the AFC champ game last week
The group was definitely not Bill and Tom 😂 the group was Tom for sure
I think Brady is so Awesome but i think he would not have 7 Super Bowls if they didn't change the quarterback ruffing rules.
Maybe not, but it's not like anyone else would have those wins either. After all, the other great QBs in Brady's era also played by those same rules, and Brady dominated them.
Mahomes doesn't have to play that long to surpass Brady records as long as he stay healthy.
Sometimes my dyslexia cracks me up. It was interesting hearing about Tom Brady‘s steroid career😂
GIVE ME A BREAK!!
The only reason he stayed so long, is because the league protects the quarterback so much,...that a 12 year old girl can play the position!
Not to mention half of those super bowls were won by the defense!
Tom was good,...but he ain't super human!
Someone will come along and beat him, and his name will probably be Joe Burrow!
Now stop crying and say goodbye for good!

As an M.I.T grad who's field of expertise is analysing statistical date as it pertains to value let me ask you a question ???
> Does it remotely resonate with you how phenomenal it is to throw for +300 yards in the playoffs *18* times and hold 4/5 of the top passing games in Super Bowl history including #1- 505 yards and #2- 466 yards? Like can you grasp that?
For context Manning is 2nd at 6 games *2/3rds less* and no one in SB history has thrown for over 300 yards more than once *Montana*
It's an absolute 100% mathematical uncertainty that no one will ever catch him..
As for protection > Brady's been sacked an astronomical *NFL RECORD*565 times and has missed an entire season from a late hit.. That spin you made fails miserably..
And Tom was *quote* "good" he's the greatest ever *Period*
Imagine throwing for an NFL best 5300 yards, 43 TD's at age 44? At age 44 Burrow or Mahomes will be selling pizza's full time..
@@reallifelebowski4732 maybe greatest ever for you, but sure not for me and most of my friends for example. Lots of QBs were/are better than Brady when u r talking about QB position. Peyton manning is the best nfl player in history. Brady had to many bad plays.
Sober Up dude
Brady never won a single thing without a top 10 scoring defense.
When it was outside the Top 10, just like Rodgers/Peyton/Favre/Brees had to contend with year after year, Brady was 5-5 in the playoffs.
The second he left Belichick or didn't have his LOADED super team in 2020, he never got past the divisional round again
The defense in 2011 in super bowl 46 was ranked 31st overall. The defense against the eagles in super bowl 52 was ranked 29th overall. Patriots made the super bowl with two horrible defenses. Peyton Manning wouldn't have a second super bowl if it wasn't for Denver's defense. So what's your point about defenses. Ravens 20 super bowl because of their defense. The New York Giants won four super bowls because of their defense. Patriots had the 6 ranked defense in 2007 and lost the Superbowl. Bill belichick's great defense gave up two touchdowns in the 4th quarter. Pittsburgh Steelers won multiple super bowls in the 1970s because of their defense. The Dallas cowboys had a top 10 defense in the three super bowls they won in the 1990's. The New York Giants won super bowl 46 with the 25th ranked defense by beating the 31st ranked defense New England Patriots.
@@Dennis-nm1jm my point about defenses is exactly what I said earlier. Defense matter more than you think. Brady has been carried by Belichick’s elite defenses, taking pressure off Brady on a regular basis and placing him and his offense in optimal positions to score. It was Bill’s defense that held the Falcons scoreless in the last 18 minutes of Super Bowl 51, don't forget that. On the other hand, Brady’s offense led his team to the two lowest-scoring winning offenses in Super Bowl history. So that's how I see it
Everyone has it all wrong when they say Brady's 28-3 comeback was his best.. His beyond incredible performance in his 2nd SB win over Carolina in 2003 was his greatest.. He literally bailed out his Pats and a horrendous Belichick defence ..
Was in 10 Super Bowls and the common denominator in EVERY one of them....Tom Brady.
That's how you know he's the GOAT.
Brady should go to S.F.49'ers for another Super Bowl title.
