Thanks for the video bro!
This video was beautiful man, keep up the good work!!!
Make one about hakeem the dream. He won two championship without a big three or big duo or rodman and pippen he literally won carring the team on his back without jordan in the league . Man came to claim what was his. People forget the dream is better then MJ period .
you need to do a video or series where you talk about the most dominant season by a player. Obviously Wilt is there but maybe exclude him or argue why someone elses season was better. I hope you see this, I would love it
Kobe's last game is the closest thing you can say is out of a movie. It was so perfect in how everything lined up for him. The last few minutes were unforgettable
Kobe taking deep breaths during the time outs, barely able to stand, but knows it's all going to be over soon he wills his team to victory, not missing a single shot the rest of the game. That's some legendary shit nobody can match
I watched that game and the 82 point game when they happened. That last game was more special. For the reasons you mentioned. Just letting it all out and some how finding the energy to keep going even though he was completely spent.
I remember watching most of his games that season. Kobe was the reason I even started watching the NBA in the first place. It was endearing, in a way, that last season. Kobe finally looked like he was aging, he just couldn't play the game the way he used to. But he smiled and joked with the other players; he showed us all a part of him that I guess had been reserved for his life outside of basketball. He seemed so human that season.
It always amazes me looking back at the footage from his last game. He was so exhausted; so damn sweaty! He was jumping so high for his jump shots that second half. You could really tell he was giving it his all; like he just NEEDED to capture that feeling for himself once more. It was a great thing, watching Kobe play, being a fan during his career. The NBA hasn't been the same for me since. He was truly the kind of player that made you wanna pick up a basketball and try it for yourself.
One of the best parts about that game, is that elsewhere Golden state was breaking the record for most games won in a season, and not a soul cared in the slightest because Kobe was painting a masterpiece of a final game for all who wanted to see.
if utah was not eliminated from playoff contention after the wolves locked up the 8th seed, and they needed to win this game to make playoffs, we never would have had this type of last game for kobe. utah would actually make an effort with double teams to not let him beat them. neverthless, legendary last game.
@@yudibassit2589 they did send double teams
Clayton Crowley could win an Oscar of his own you know, about the best Kobe tribute I've ever seen, incredible, stunning work, well worth the wait...!!!
Dude the fact that you mentioned all the victims. Mad props. Mad respect.
Man just hearing the words “January 26th” completely changed the mood for me. Rest In Peace
My favorite player died on my birthday. I haven't been able to celebrate since and I don't know if I ever will.
@@Davivd2 I’m ngl that’s really sad. Mamba would tell you to get over yourself and stop idolising him. I know it hurts. He’s 2nd favourite player of all time. But you shouldn’t let a parasocial relationship mess with your life
This is a great birthday gift. Thanks Clayton Crowley
happy birthday Noe 🥳
Happy birthday!
Happy birthday 🎉
Happy birthday bro
Happy birthday 🎉🎉🎉
Even as a boston fan i got a little teary eyed at the end. Masterful work
Even as a Warrior fan and them going for 73 wins at the same time, the last Kobe game was must watch TV, was like a movie.
17:42 Man, shout out to Kobe for making first team all-rookie in so many years of his career. Truly one of the greatest.
mamba was different 😤
How does this not have more views? Regardless, this is a masterpiece. I did not expect to cry tonight. Clayton Crowley thank you for this!
its really rare that a youtube video could make me cry, but you are a really special writer
Just finished the 2 part Kobe Bryant legend videos. Absolutely phenomenal, brought me to tears at the end. Thanks again Clayton, you are the people's champion.
A lot of people has Kobe in a mixer. They often do not know where they will place him. He was great, until he wasn't cause of the injuries but his career speaks for itself. Those championship run during his #24 years beating 50-win teams capable of being champions themselves earned Kobe a spot on the 2nd half of top 10. Hard to put Kobe on top 5 given his last years, he was horrible but he kept the grind just to pass MJ to somewhat soothe his maniacal desire to have something more than MJ. Inspirational hooper though, his workrate is phenomenal.
One of the many reasons why I love Kobe is how consistently proved people wrong, I remember people saying all the time that Kobe will never win a ring against Shaq, let alone the Celtics.
Kobe found a way to do both having 5 rings
Nobody said that only Kobemaniacs say that. Kobe had a far superior team in 2009 & 2010 compared to the Three-peat years
My dude your Pulitzer is on the way in the mail anytime now surely!
Me hoping you do something similar on Larry Bird one day. 🥺🥺
He has to do mj first
@@thespacecowboy4124 nah MJ doesn’t need another documentary, and while Larry has this sort of super loyal fanbase online who refuse to let his legend die no one has really done that story justice. plus it would lead into MJ naturally so yeah
"Unfortunately, he fell in love with a team sport," is a great line.
Forever an enemy of my team and my fandom. But man there was something about him you just couldn't hate. A magician, a man with a maniacal work ethic, and a father. The world was robbed of his second act. You have Jordan's shot in the finals, you have Ray Allen's triple (you know which one), but few moments encapsulate a player better than him taking free throws on a torn Achilles. Forever missed, even from the crowd in San Antonio, I am sure I would have loved his take on Victor.
I think these pair of videos might go down as some of the greatest basketball media ever
When Kobe hit 2 free throws on a torn Achilles, that's when I grained a new level of respect for kobe. Lebron would have cried and been carted off the court. Kobe was a different breed. We will never have a man like him in the league again.
I’m a massive Celtics fan. I have been since I watched that 07-08 season as a kid, having grown up for 6 years in Mass. As a teenager, I was always “Bird”, the only white kid, always wearing green. Never, ever said “Kobe” when I shot. Pierce! Screw Kobe. That game 7 was brutal to watch.
Injuries ruined my chance to play high school basketball, and it took 5 years for me to play again. About a year into picking up the game, I was living down in St Pete, FL and heard the news. He’d died. Kobe.
It was one of those things you don’t think’ll hurt that bad. Until it’s sat with you for 10 minutes. An hour. 2. When I hit the court that evening, there were probably 10 more guys than usual, and everyone played like crazy… As I walked home, I swore I’d re-devote myself to the game.
Now when people ask me what school I played at, I smile and think of Kobe.
Edit: issalot, sorry lol
This damn near made me cry
As sad as it was finding out Kobe passed away. Its even sadder to think that the people that went with him will often be forgotten in time. Not too long ago In the middle of a game. The sports announcers only mentioned Kobe and his daughter. I understand since they were a Sports/celebrity family they'll get the most notice but Thank you for bringing all of them together in this video.
2010 will forever hurt me. Still RIP Kobe.
Thank you for all the work you put into this Clayton, I know it must have not been easy but I appreciate you 💛💜
My introduction to basketball and the reason I love the NBA today. Thank you Bean. RIP Mamba.
this two-part film is the best biographical, narrated, small-budget sport documentary I ever seen for sure
I feel so sorry for this generation of viewers that missed out on Kobe. Heart, loyalty, competitive nature, and feracity can't be measured and they'll never understand. Something you probably only see in movies. Winning it all while never backing down, never cheating the game, and taking the hard road. Jordan is the GOAT but my heart is biased and can't say Kobe isn't.
“Best two words in sports..Game 7”
Chills
I love how the last thing you mention in this video is not Kobe's death, but his final game. Beautiful way to end the video
I am still surprised that Clayton doesn't have Kobe on the GOAT series but has Bird/Magic/Lebron on it
It's here it's here it's here!
RIP legend and everyone else who died in the crash
“We always had the chance when Kobe stepped on the court wearing that purple&gold.”
RIP jellybean..you are dearly missed. Clayton thank you for making this champ.
Make sense this would take 3 months. I haven't even watched the video yet but knowing about Kobe, this is just so much to talk about.
I literally got a Patreon just so I could watch this earlier and this video alone was worth it. Clayton all I can say is that you sir are unmatched in your ability to create tributes to greatness and I hope that you never stop doing this.
Been waiting on this one. Good stuff.
I was a Kobe hater most my life, even growing up in So Cal. I just always liked Shaq more & once I saw LeBron play I knew he was the one.
I remember getting into debates all throughout middle school & high school, right as LeBron was starting to peak & Kobe won those final 2 championships. Every day on the school yard my friends and I would be debating the two based off new information from the previous nights games.
Directly, although as the antagonist of my personal story, Kobe is the reason I got into basketball & data the way I did. I played basketball my whole life growing up and while I didn't want to be like Kobe, bc I saw him as selfish & a poor shot selector, I still took traits from him & I still learned from him far more than I would have ever realized before his death. His mentality & approach to the game, were traits I'd admired, even if I believed they had negative impacts in some aspects.
I remember where I was when I found out the news of his death. I was working overnights at a grocery store in Austin, TX as a young adult. Due to that, I would sleep during the day. But that was my day off, I'd taken a nap after work and woke up to see the news. I couldn't believe it, I thought it HAD to be fake. Kobe? Dead? It didn't feel real, and it sure as hell didn't feel fair. I started to tear up & cry, the same way this video made me due & the same way I'm tearing up just remembering it now. But me? Cry over Kobe? I'd never cried over a celebrities death in my life, and to be crying over someone I was a hater of? It didn't make sense. But it's what made me realize the kind of role he played in my life & the part that he played in furthering my love of basketball. Regardless of me being a fan or a hater, I likely wouldn't love basketball the way I do if not for him.
Since his death, watching some of the clips of him & seeing more of him & who he was, I've come to understand him more as a person. Still not the biggest fan of him on the basketball court, but truly started to appreciate who he was as a person.
And it's because of him, that I try to show that appreciation for others. I don't want to spend another 20 years hating on some basketball player & not appreciating how good they are. I don't want to look for holes in people's resume. Our time on this planet is limited & we never know when it's going to end, so I want to appreciate each moment & each player / person for as long as I can. And I have Kobe to thank for that.
Alot people forget that it was Kobe who passed Ron artest for the game. Kobe started his championship run with a game winning dime and ended it with it.
I've been waiting for this! So excited!
Thanks Clayton, it's easy to see the care and passion you put into your videos
Thank you, I believe we have been waiting for this! #Kobe #BlackMamba
You are incredible, Clayton. This was well worth the wait. Absolutely beautiful.
Fantastic as always.
waited for this masterpiece!
I was thinking this was about to drop !!!
Thank you !!!!
Quick question, would you revisit your first making the case series to edit the few mistakes you made from the rush of making them ?
Thank you Clayton. This is wonderful to watch.
Been checking your channel once a week for this. Great stuff my man truly mean it

Was wondering when this was going to drop. Thanks Clayton.
I couldn't help but to shed tears at the end. This was amazing Clayton🔥🔥🔥🔥
Both Part 1 & 2 well done - kudos!
Beautifully made video Clayton! Every word and sentence was perfect! Amazing job in honor of Kobe
Wonderful, wonderful work. You continue to enlighten and enthrall us with every single video, this video being the most of any I think I've ever seen.
Love this channel and this series so much rip Kobe still can't find words you will always be one of my favourite baseball players and just thank you for everything 😪😪😪😪😪😪
Beautiful video rip Kobe!
He's my third hero that I have in my life besides my dad and MJ. A HERO !
Never make a human other than your parents be heros and even then your parents are flawed but I digress.
@@donaldf9055 Everyone is flawed. Heroes do not have to be perfect, they just have to mean something special to you. The lesson is not never have a hero because you'll always end up disappointed. The lesson is don't expect your heroes to be perfect, expect them to be human.
@@ImBarryScottCSS I can't imagine making someone I know nothing about it or who knows nothing about me other than my parents to be my hero but I digress
Thank you very much Clayton! I have been checking in for the last couple of weeks to see when this "Legends" installment was uploaded. I will maintain now, as I have maintained ever since I began watching your content: You are both the hero we wanted and the hero that we needed. I will think of how much impact Kobe had on me as I watch both videos back-to-back. He is certainly one of the most motivated players I've ever seen play, and that motivation was so contagious to the fans. Thank you very much for your hard work!
Really, really excellent Clayton.
Excellent and beautiful video! It is informative, moving, and well-narrated. Keep up the amazing work, Clayton!
you made me cry man. thank you for making this video! you deserve more!
If there is anyone who can GLOAT about The G.L.O.A.T. (greatest laker of all time.)

Another masterpiece Clayton, congratulations!
Thank you. I enjoy your work. You tell a dramatic story.
Thank you for this masterpiece 😢
Absolutely amazing as always! I wish you put out more content, but I have to respect the time and effort that must go into producing such masterpieces. Great job, much respect, love your videos!
Thank you again. I type this with tears in my eyes because of your content and timing.
This is a beautiful video Clayton, thank you for doing justice to Kobe's career.
Epic stuff! Many thanks. Not a Kobe fan but still got goosebumps and had to Fight tears...
Thank you Clayton! You never fail to exceed expectations 💯
Best creator on the sport is back. Always brightens my day to see your content.
It’s a good day when Clayton uploads
Let's fuvking goooooo
Pure poetry Clayton, mesmerising, I am out of words. As a Basketball fan, I thank you
I really love your videos. I've watched many of your videos and your ability to convey emotions through words is unmatched.
Came out of nowhere and is one of the if not the nba youtuber with the highest quality. We wanna see more
These videos are such high quality
Bro do a lot mor videos like this. You are amazing brother!
You really outdid yourself, after making your best video ever with the one for Dr J, you made your REAL best video ever. It’s awesome, it’s incredible, and the quality fits the player. Thank you!
I think it says a lot about Clayton’s integrity that he didn’t make a GOAT candidate video for Kobe back when he did the series three years ago. It’s obvious that he respects Bryant as a player enormously, and no one would have batted an eye if he made a GOAT video about Kobe back then, because for many people, he does rank up there. He could also quite easily have claimed that he didn’t do it as a way to capitalize on the tragic helicopter crash, since he was doing the GOAT series before the crash.
This is a great video on its own as well, and while I’m one of those people who thinks Kobe is pretty overrated, I completely understand why so many loved and adored him. He was a brilliant player, and these two videos are wonderful tributes. Good job, man.
Thanks for your amazing work
The quality of your videos is really top level. BRAVO. I just had 40 min of goosebumps for Kobe. He is the reason I fucking love this game so much
Love your work, brother
Amazing video
What an incredible watch. Thank you.
Amazing quality as usual
What an amazing video. Thank u for making it. Thank u for not stuffing it with ads
Clay my favorite basketball CZcamsr
Great content
RIP to the Legend🐍🏆🏀
Before I got into this channel I never thought basketball could make me teary. It’s now happened twice, first with the ending of the making the case for Lebron being the goat video, and the ending of this video.
Your content is out of this world.
Never stop Clayton, keep the romance of basketball alive
This was beautiful, that man is a legend🥲
Finally it’s here thank you champ
Growing up watching Kobe highlights every single day, this made my eyes water. Thank you for this video
In the running for your best video yet. You outlined a lot of the key reasons why many fans rate him higher in terms of all time greats than some players with more rings or more consistently high individual stats. You fairly summed up how some of his biggest hurdles to jump in his career were, to an extent, of his own making; and how he went on to jump them. Bravo Clayton.
