Phil Harris - Goofus (78 RPM)

For your listening pleasure, I present Goofus as performed by Phil Harris With Orchestra Conducted By Walter Scharf. (RCA Victor 20-3968-A)
Equipment used:
Technics SL-D3 turntable modified for 78 RPM
Shure M78S phono cartridge
Shure M64A preamplifier
Tascam DR-40 Linear PCM Recorder
Panasonic Lumix LX-5
The Shure M64A preamplifier was set to flat mode to prevent application of RIAA equalization as it would be incorrect for this record. This audio was fed into a the Tascam DR-40 as a line level signal. The proper equalization was applied to the resulting file using Audacity, an excellent and free audio editing program.

Had an original 45 once,,,left to me in the 70's by a friend from his parents. i used to play the scratchy thing all the time. great recording,,thanks for the excellent quality posting. always thought the big brassy finish and arrangement was outstanding on this record. i'm talking from minute
