I used to live in Clayton, go to church in Garner, work in Cary and play in Raleigh. I remember the excitement of the White Oak opening and am so happy to see Garner's growth. I now go to church in Raleigh and Garner is at the next traffic light. Great place to consider especially for access to downtown Raleigh. I was not impressed with the schools and am not sure how they currently rank.

I lived in Garner for 18 years and enjoyed it a lot. The only reason we moved was because of the Garner School district. Not the greatest, by a long shot. It's convenient to 40/42 area, downtown Raleigh, White Oak Shopping Center, etc.

If you want the best ribs ever, check out Moon runners. Order them with the prohibition sauce. Also in Garner on hwy 70

We bought in Garner in 2008 and so glad we did. 10 mins to downtown and live between two Targets; also, go to Moon Runners. Best food and service in town.

Thanks for the video and the honesty. My wife and I are looking to move to NC in the next 5-10 years and we're looking for a more rural area and relaxed lifestyle. We're currently on Long Island and need to move away from the hustle and bustle. A few dozen acres, a barn, nice neighborhood, and a decent sized house would be a dream come true.

A few dozen acres? That’s not really conducive to living in a neighborhood of any kind. Thats a small farm out in the country.

Work downtown and bought my house because it’s 8.5 miles. It’s like living in the country without the distance. That said, it looks like Cary did in the 80’s and I feel like we’re headed in that direction.
    PS Angie’s is the best.

Thanks for sharing. Yep, Garner is one of the only places that is very close to DT Raleigh, but feels quieter. You're right, that is likely to change.
