We have to admit that mental health is becoming more of an issue and political differences and woke liberal propaganda is driving it. Look at the types of movies Hollywood puts out, or the music that is popular with teens like violent rap music. Both can influence a persons mind more than you would like to believe. This does not happen in other nations, not because mental illness is less but because gun laws are logical.
Americans especially Rural America has always owned firearms but were bought for a task, a purpose. It wasn't until the last 30-40 years a New Age society of Urban and Suburbanites turned owning a firearm into a Social Trend which led to a Social Identity and Social Groupism of "Gun Owner" It's like people found out that the God given right to self-preservation was outlined in the Constitution, and people that never owned firearms and no reason to need firearms, took it as if the Constitution means they should go buy one. If snow blowers were outlined in the Constitution would people that didn't own land, or didn't live where it snowed go out and buy one just to have it? Just start it up and run it to be cool, to fit in with the people that lived in snowy regions? People buying ARs and long guns but live in subdivisions, and apartment buildings...🥴🤪

I haven't seen any reports on that. He bought it legally so the media seems to skip over the type of weapon whereas if it HAD been one of the two mentioned, it would have been at the top of the story.

No need to investigate this shooting. And no need to bring up what type of gun. Something happened in his life and he took the wrong way to fix it. What good will it do to keep bringing it up time and time again what the motive was. The best reporter and the best doctor can only assume what happened in his mind. The gun was just something he used. It has no feelings, thoughts, or anything else to add to the conversation. Sometimes things happen to good people and we can’t do anything about it. Leave the shooter alone leave the gun alone and pray for the folks who lost loved ones. That’s all we can do and I know we can do that part right.

NPR says it was an AR-15, legally obtained 6 days prior to the event.
