  • This video is demonstrating Windows 2000 working perfect in UTM. Although, Windows 2000 can be a bit laggy with the sound drivers in 86Box on the hardware side of things. It's surprised that Windows 2000 actually works great in UTM though and having the ability to use USB 2.0 devices in UTM. UTM is based on QEMU.

UTM sounds like a Mac-exclusive emulator for computer operating systems. Windows 2000 looks good in it. I'd be curious about how well Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows XP work in it. I like the virtual machine window edges since they look stylish.

I remember when 86Box was Windows-exclusive until the developers created the Mac version along with MacBox. I tested Windows 95 once in UTM and it ran just fine, I might give Windows Me a shot to see how it handles UTM instead of 86Box.Windows XP works good even though you had to install some drivers in UTM.

All those dialog boxes, reminds me of Win ME.

It does, although during Windows Me's development the developers at Microsoft used some of the visual elements in Windows 2000 to make look like Windows 2000 to an extent.

AHH, windows 2000 when i used that 24 years ago, i could notice the difference between 2000 and windows me, solid os, BTW on windows explorer had this cool feature, when you click on an audio file, like when you were double clicking every wav in the media folder, all you had to to is to click once and press play on the left side of the app, even you could see the play/pause, fwd etc button everytime you close wmp, too bad this feature is no more on windows 10, because i cant run w11, but it is available under dolphin on kde , on linux, greetings.

Oh yeah, I remember the days using Windows 2000 before XP and Vista. Windows 2000 had some cool features with playing some audio files in Windows Explorer. Although, a lot people actually replaced Windows Me with Windows 2000 because how rock solid it was and it's very stable with it being built on NT technology before Windows XP came out opposed to Windows Me still using the Windows 9x kernel.
