- Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski says Duke assumed they were going to win instead of preparing for a fight with Stephen F. Austin. After the 85-83 upset loss in overtime, Coach K says Duke did not deserve to win as they gave up way too many points and got outplayed. Krzyzewski says the Lumberjacks did a great job of forcing turnovers and gives them a ton of credit.

The gap between the majors and mid majors is shrinking. These mid major kids stay together for 3 and 4 years so there is more chemistry. When u got a team full of freshmen/sophomores and a senior here and there that doesnt even play because he isnt better than the freshmen its just making these major schools more susceptible to upsets against teams u never heard of.
I have been saying that for a number of years. The teams that have seasoned players who have stayed together for 3 and 4 years can take even the biggest schools with the most talented players.
Finally 3 years straight coach finally acknowledges the horrid free throw shooting costing them games...
Please remember SFA has gone to the tourney and won games.

SF Austin is a much better program than most of you are giving credit. They have been to the tournament 4 times I think in the last 8 yrs and last season gave Texas Tech a very tough game in the dance. Duke has been mediocre defensively for most of the one and done era and they have major flaws this year in general.
Liam G We had a great run in 2016. Beat WVU soundly and lost at at the buzzer to ND. We were two points away from the sweet 16. Always proud to call SFA my school. Great university and a great community in Nacogdoches.

I’m a diehard Carolina fan but let’s just be clear this dude is my favorite coach. At no point does he ever disrespect a team that beat him. The definition of losing grace. I think it’s one of the factors that won him so many national championships over the years. He coaches that you have to earn every win.

When your #1, you have a bigger target on you. Your opponent always brings their "A" game. It also funny how sometimes the team with the more motivation gets the ball bouncing their way. I am sure some of it has to do with their hustle.

This was an epic win for Stephen F. Austin University. Duke played a miserable game and gave their opponents the ammunition to beat them. I’m a huge Duke fan, and there are no excuses for the loss. You can’t judge a book by the cover, and largely this loss came from an eye test by the young, inexperienced freshmen on Duke’s roster. Add in 11-24 free throw shooting and 22 turnovers, you’re lucky enough not to be blown out.
So, congratulations to Stephen F.Austin for a monumental victory.
Side note: The guard Bain for the Lumberjack team, his family recently lost everything they had due to a Hurricane that struck the Bahamas earlier this year, so I hope that he and his family will be blessed with a fast recovery, both spiritually, physically and emotionally from this devastating situation
What you people don't get is the corruption in the ACC at these programs. The eye is on the ACC. Better bet that more so-called upsets will happen. Basket weaving classes are coming to an end on the ACC. Hahahaha hahahaha.

I couldn’t agree more, College Sports are corrupt and have been since an advantage could be gained by offering jobs 2 parents, cash, trips, and literally any and everything else under the sun. It’s just that some programs are wayyyyy better at distancing themselves from the actual sin!

Vincent Martin Saying “we didn’t deserve the win” may sound like undermining the victory on the surface, but Coach K explained it very well. They got crushed in the paint, they got forced into turnovers (as SFA is a strong, physical team) and they gave up a bunch of easy layups simply by being lost on transition D. The last play WAS indicative of the game - SFA took advantage when Duke looked lost.
