      I think you are correct however I’m certain his greatest gift is not interrupting often while doing the interviews. Sounds simple but so many other so called reporters just want to hear their own voice, then the other person naturally is less forthcoming out of subconscious defensiveness knowing they have to answer is short quick sentences.

      His Pete Rose interview was kind of awkward to watch. Most guests allow the interviewer, in this case, Graham, to finish the question even if they know what the question is going to be. Pete did not. He would answer Graham's questions before Graham could finish his questions. I found it infuriating to watch and Graham handled it with the utmost class and respect.
      I agree, Graham is a great interviewer. You know you're good when Bob Costas allows you to interview him.

    • @averydaymond1560
      @averydaymond1560 Před 2 lety

      @@justinroark88 Just about every Pete Rose interview is awkward. Rose thinks every one is out to get him and in some cases he has reason to think so, Rose has experienced many sports journalists with a one track mind focusing exclusively on the issue of gambling. Therefore Rose comes in to every interview defensive. I can actually understand Rose’s frustration in this area because he would be a great subject to talk about even excluding the gambling saga. It’s really tragic how he is treated to be honest. He is treated with more disdain than deserved.
      That said I haven’t seen that specific Pete Rose interview but can easily imagine what you’re talking about.

Lebron never had that mentorship from a coach even for one month. It was only a few months but he spent time playing and practicing with one of the greatest coaches ever. There’s no doubt that it was a great move to play at Duke. When you’re a great player it helps to have a great coach no matter how long they coach you.

The man, LeBron James, is a fantastic person who has already accomplished more than any of these commenters will even dream of in their lifetime. He’s helped his communities in numerous ways, the IPromise schools and the list goes on of his outstanding accomplishments as a man. As a ball player, he’s also accomplished a hell of a lot. Is his resumé better than MJ’s? No. But why question his character and call him feminine and judge him over being raised by one parent? Chill out and just admire him, because he’s better than probably anyone you’ll ever meet. ✌🏻

    I wonder how many people who watched this, and lit into LeBron, watched the entire video. Coach K and LeBron are extremely close;on several occasions, he has stated that LB is one of his favorite people, as well as one of his favorite players. In spite of his "coach killer" rep, he's played for 2 coaches who got fired...Paul Silas (which had nothing to do with James;that was an owner's decision) and David Blatt, who the GM at the time canned because he saw, at several practices how the TEAM was not responding to Blatt as he and Dan Gilbert had hoped he would. James could have spoken up in Blatt's defense, but didn't. Several NBA insiders have stated that James didn't have the "juice" with Gilbert that many people thought he did. And, Gilbert couldn't wait for LeBron to leave.
    Remember, it took at least 2 years for MJ to respect Phil Jackson.
    Glad I watched the entire video, and did some further research about Coach K and Lebron's relationship. The title doesn't tell or infer the whole story.

      @_gamepoint_ Před 5 lety

      He also wanted Spo fired. Couldn't pull it off though because Spo is Riley's hand picked guy and managment had his back.
      The disrespect for Blatt likely started with LBJ as he is a known basketball know it all who will ignore instructions and purposely half ass effort when he does listen if it's not being done his way.

    • @bradtdarius
      @bradtdarius Před 5 lety

      @@_gamepoint_ True, because he didn't think the former video co-ordinator had what it took to be a good coach. Not to mention ,but most basketball experts and media questioned Spolestra's promotion as well;Riley said it reminded him of his own situation when he took over for Westhead;same scrutiny from players and media. And, like with Coach K, Lebron and Spo are good friends. Gotta learn to trust. James isn't alone in that regard (remember what I said about Jordan and Jackson )
      With Blatt, LeBron not totally buying in, the GM and the OWNER made that call, after watching the TEAM tune him out in several practices. Gilbert was not really sold in Blatt...that was Dave Griffin's call, and a point of contention between the two off them until Griffin left the Cavs.
      Kobe did the same thing with Del Harris. James isn't the only NBA superstar to ever be wary and distrustful of a coach.

    • @bradtdarius
      @bradtdarius Před 5 lety +1

      @@_gamepoint_ In Riley's own words, James never asked that Spoelstra be fired. James, Wade and Bosh met Riley, who assured them that Spo could do the job;but, neither of the three asked for or demanded that Spoelstra be fired. There were "basketball insiders" who claimed that, in the wake of Blatt being fired by Dan Gilbert and David Griffin. But, after Riley went off on them, in a Sports Illustrated interview, many of them backtracked their remarks.

      brad56t Do a little more research and explain why LeBron has never had a HOF coach. Then figure out whether it was Phil Jackson that earned his HOF status or was it Tex' triangle offense AND Jordan, Pippen, Kobe, and Shaq that got him his 11 rings. Figure out if it's the PLAYERS that make the HOF coach or the other way around. Tell everyone if Jackson would have ANY rings and HOF status without those four players. Then clarify why LeBron hasn't had made his coaches into HOF'ers.

    You could tell he was holding back on LeBron he wasn’t gonna break the trust. But you can tell the difference when he speaks about Kobe. Maybe LJ was a little bit better on the court but when it came to the intangibles Kobe was head and shoulders above LJ. For me it’s the reason I would want Kobe on a team I owned.
