Graham is a great interviewer because he does not make himself the focus. He asks his questions and moves out of the way.
I don't agree with him acting like he's tight with everyone. Also his smile is phony.
He’s non threatening.
3 Minute Poetry Analysis He does though, that's probably why everyone is a guest on it. 👏👏👍✌
I really appreciate that too
Exactly, I can't stand dumb interviewers that talk too much. Happens all the time
Finally an interviewer that asks the questions and lets the person speak without cutting them off! That and you actually listen to ask a decent follow up question. Where'd you go to school?
YOUR INTERVIEWS ARE AMAZING!
PressCAPLOCK lol
PressCAPLOCK Forgot to press caps lock? Oh wait
SteveCOOK TakesSteroids stfu you would too with your ugly ass
literally everyone in television wears makeup you fool
Check out his interview with Jim Brown. Brown is a notoriously difficult interview, but Jim opened up and gave one of the best interviews I've ever heard him give.
Coach K’s advice is golden. Always look people in the eye and tell the truth. If you can’t do that simple thing, you don’t deserve any respect.
@@LostEldritch dude what the fuck
@@LostEldritch I agree.
What if you're autistic?
It makes me physically ill to look someone in the eye and I'm on the spectrum. I never intend to be rude when doing it, I just can't.
I'm not even sure what exactly Graham does differently, but somehow his interviews are always so telling. I feel like he gets things out of these people that no one else can. Superb.
I think you are correct however I’m certain his greatest gift is not interrupting often while doing the interviews. Sounds simple but so many other so called reporters just want to hear their own voice, then the other person naturally is less forthcoming out of subconscious defensiveness knowing they have to answer is short quick sentences.
His Pete Rose interview was kind of awkward to watch. Most guests allow the interviewer, in this case, Graham, to finish the question even if they know what the question is going to be. Pete did not. He would answer Graham's questions before Graham could finish his questions. I found it infuriating to watch and Graham handled it with the utmost class and respect.
I agree, Graham is a great interviewer. You know you're good when Bob Costas allows you to interview him.
@@justinroark88 Just about every Pete Rose interview is awkward. Rose thinks every one is out to get him and in some cases he has reason to think so, Rose has experienced many sports journalists with a one track mind focusing exclusively on the issue of gambling. Therefore Rose comes in to every interview defensive. I can actually understand Rose’s frustration in this area because he would be a great subject to talk about even excluding the gambling saga. It’s really tragic how he is treated to be honest. He is treated with more disdain than deserved.
That said I haven’t seen that specific Pete Rose interview but can easily imagine what you’re talking about.
@@averydaymond1560 I agree. He fucking gambled? Who cares? I'm sure there are plenty of hall of farmers who weren't hall of fame husbands or fathers or even worse. The issue is, he lied about it for decades. I think that hurt him more than anything.
"Look at me!, I am the coach now"
lol
lmfao
Next Year I'll be taking my talents to.......Next Friday I'll announce on ESPN
LOL dead
I'm a UNC guy, and I still have a huge amount of respect for this man. Legendary coach
Nathan Johnson #Respect....A very rare quality that TBH is very rarely associated with most modern day UNC fans. Much like Coach K’s own decision to recognize Dean Smith after his passing sometimes fans forget to see the bigger picture or even just respect the game we love!
This man IS the reason why Duke-UNC is the greatest rivalry in college basketball. By turning Duke into a true national power over a four decade period, and showing an unbelievable amount of class and integrity while doing so.
If he came in a different generation Coach K is the kind of guy who could lead a Normandy invasion and win.
Same
Phony Coach Rodent.
Love Coach K & I love his impact on the game. He clearly had a great influence on Lebron (as well as so many other NBA Players & Numerous College Players).
I like this Graham guy. Conducts himself we'll, in touch with followers (probably not him though), and has a ton of content. Keep it up!
It is me! Appreciate you checking out the content, Alex.

Graham Bensinger is it still you?
This Graham guy is great with the interviews!! I can across this channel on accident looking up Chad Johnson highlights. Ended up looking about 20 other interviews and man I'm addicted !
He is cute, huh? 😉
Love your style of interview Graham! keep at it!
Thanks, Austin!
I cant believe he is 70
I know right. Graham looks 50 not 70
Seriously looks mid 50’s. 60 is even a stretch..
Sinfinate lol
Jon Torgusen no way he is 70
It's routine. He's been at it for a long time.
always ask the right questions and your knowledge is a depth is something new love ur vids man
Every time I hear a legendary coach in any sport speak I end up thinking that they should lead our society. Politicians are good at arguing and debating to win just over half a group. Coaches are good at getting a group from different backgrounds with different ideas to work together for a common goal. Please vote Van Gundy/Van Gundy in 2020.
Lol you dont understand how politics works
@@andrewchapman5659 neither do you so...
This is a great point. The only thing you can be sure a politician is good at is winning elections. They don't need to be able to lead.
Seriously this is one of the best channels on CZcams.
Awesome interviews Graham, very informative and great questions
Thanks, Dylan!
Graham is a very good interviewer, asks intelligent questions and never interrupts- - a real pro
THIS COACH IS DESTINED TO THE HOF. GOD BLESS COACH K
Awesome interview, keep them coming
God bless this man. And I’m a UNC fan saying this. Hella respect for Coach K one of the best in basketball PERIOD!
Great interviews require the interviewee to:
listen. Check
Eye contact Check
Not interrupting Check
Preparation check
Relaxed atmosphere check
Trust Check
Honesty check
Nice work Graham!!
Easily some of the best interviews. Keep it up!
Graham great videos! Huge fan of you channel and interviews - keep it up your content is awesome and you deserve way more subscriber - glad to see content with substance and insight!
Thank you, Jack!
My favorite college coach, pure class.
Some things are just powerful gestures shaking hands and definitely looking someone in the eyes when your talking to them it's respect and so much more.😉
He is one of the best at interviews
Zion is so damn lucky this man is his college coach. He’s going to have a great career.
I agree. But you could say that about a lot of other coaches on his level if not better. The other greats like: Andy Reid, Rex Ryan, Ozzie Guillen, Jim Fregosi, Bruce Arena and so on
Quentin Miles Lollll have you been watching at all the last like 5 years?
Quentin Zion SHOULD have a great career IF he can stay healthy.... LOL... whether he does or not isn't going to have much to do with that few months he played for Coach K.
Sensibly Honest what? You’re missing the point. Having a wise basketball mind like Coach K when you are a once in a generation player like Zion is extremely helpful. Lebron never had that mentorship from a coach even for one month. It was only a few months but he spent time playing and practicing with one of the greatest coaches ever. There’s no doubt that it was a great move to play at Duke. When you’re a great player it helps to have a great coach no matter how long they coach you.
@@stevewillis1916 LOL.... bullshit, Zion's physical gifts are what will make him a star. Coach K doesn't figure into the equation. He's had the best talent in college ball for the past # of years and hasn't won the title. Bronbitches want to whine about his never having had a HOF coach but they don't ask why??? Dean Smith restricted Jordan's game....Phil Jackson's PLAYERS won him 11 rings and made him an HOF'er...not the other way around. Bronny hasn't put any ol his coaches into the Hall....not likely that he will.
Great stuff, Graham!
that Horace Grant commercial cracks me up every time lol
My most favorite coach ever from any college sport.
Graham you really get "the goods"!!! Kudos from Minneapolis
Thanks! If you get a chance, check out my show weekly in Minneapolis on KSTP-ABC. My website has airing times. Appreciate you watching.
Coach K takes no shit, I love this man!
His story about Mike was about his respect and manners. His story about Lebron is about his haughtiness to not even look the great Coach K in the eye. Coach told it in a nice way to protect his little reputation.
Lebron is all those things, just ask him.
Meanwhile, MJ is the GOAT. Period.
I feel you brother.. Buy growing up being raised by both parents helps with manners and respect. Having a Father in the Home is a Vital for Young Black males..
Was looking for a comment like this👏🏽. Mike respected him already, while lebron couldn’t even look him in the eyes.
^^Truth!^^
The hate people like you all spew about someone like LeBron is unfathomable. The man, LeBron James, is a fantastic person who has already accomplished more than any of these commenters will even dream of in their lifetime. He’s helped his communities in numerous ways, the IPromise schools and the list goes on of his outstanding accomplishments as a man. As a ball player, he’s also accomplished a hell of a lot. Is his resumé better than MJ’s? No. But why question his character and call him feminine and judge him over being raised by one parent? Chill out and just admire him, because he’s better than probably anyone you’ll ever meet. ✌🏻
I can't imagine college basketball without coach K. He made college basketball what it is today, everyone else had to rise to Duke's standards in the ACC to compete with them. You will never beat Duke unless you play your A game. Not a Duke fan but I envy them. though.
Coach K is LEGEND
This interview is proof that the way to self-actualization is by sharing and learning from one another.
Class coach
How does this man get these great interview guests
Duke in the final four for Mikey k's last dance. 😳
Win one for Mike!
Jay Will said they are young not good enough to win the tournament. He was turned off by the kids in their lost to NC at the end of the regular season.
Lmfao LeBron of all people asked for "No excuses"
Well said
Well said.... as expected
What does this say about the character of some people? You have to agree on specific "standards" like "don't be late", "look each other in the eye", etc.
How about one standard to cover them all, "be a decent human being".
I like where you’re going with this... In my opinion, looking each other in the eye is more than just being decent. For a lot if introverts it takes courage, even if they have every intention of being kind
@@GeoFreako I agree wholeheartedly, I struggle with looking my family members in the eye let alone strangers.
Really taking everything in before we say good bye coach K you are the man
This is an excellent interviewer.
"LOOK AT ME KING!!!" - Loaded Lux.

Ayyyeee!

Best interviewer of all time.
I think it's true for every profession every trade, the top 1% performers are outstanding in both hard and soft skills, can't be just one or the other.
One of the top 5 basketball coaches to ever live 💯
#1
Look me in the eyes, Lebron! *Coach K voice*
The difference between this and the Jordan story
He looks like he’s in his 50s damn. I can’t see him ever getting old lol.
Meanwhile, MJ paid Coach K all the respect, despite playing for the rival college, back in the day.
Not to mention playing with Chuck Daly on the Dream Team....and all the Bronbitches want to whine about little Bronny never having a HOF coach....LOL...do they wonder WHY??
To be fair mj was 29 yrs old when he talked to coach k in the dream team. Lebron was 24 yrs old in the 2008 olympics, lebron has matured a lot ever since. mj matured a lot by the time he joined the dream team not to mention he spent a lot of time in college too before he joined the nba
@@costanostra2447 hence why I urge kids to stay in school and not be a “one and done”.
@@sensiblyhonest695 because MJ could swallow his pride and put his differences aside with his rivals and overall peers, and Bron couldn’t.
onlyone23km i mean sure, staying in school is good and all that. But its in no way a place where someone will magically mature. What i meant with mj spending a lot of time in college and his respect with coach k was that he had spent a pretty good amount of time playing college ball against coach k which in turn maybe gained mj’s respect. But it doesnt mean that mj spending time in college meant that he matured as a person.
Well done graham
Legend .
As a Clemson fan I love Coach K one of the best coaches in sports
Look at me! Im the captain now!
Look me in the eyes!...

Right after I interview your mother...
LeBron doesn't respect a lot of coaches. A bad trait of his
Its Actually because Coach dic-K is a asshole
He's a high school minded brat who never got taught respect At the college level
at1212 b he’s the goat L
@D G lol what a joke of a comment. Not even going to argue anything you said
D G you’re an idiot
Look a person in the eyes.
Tell the truth.
Literally talking to grown men......
In some cultures, looking another person in the eyes is disrespectful.
www.weforum.org/agenda/2015/02/the-impact-of-making-eye-contact-around-the-world/
Seoul Glo How many of the people he was talking about are from those cultures? What is polite here?
Idk. I actually hear someone clearer when I'm NOT looking them in the eyes. Otherwise, I'm distracted by their body gestures.
You are a typical introvert. An introvert focuses on the rational of the matter, not much on other’s facial expectation.
Same
My Dad would insist that I look him in the eye when we talked.
I’m 15 and my dad always use to say that until it became habit for anyone I talk to.
You can tell coach K follows an old leadership adage I first heard from Jimmy Johnson. "Treat people the way you expect them to be, and they will become that person."
It's sort of a corollary to the Golden Rule, except that it engenders growth.
He really said, "look at me, I'm the captain now."
I totally agree with coach k..
Kobe in the background 💔 rip
Lebron forgot he cant get coach k fired. Good thing they didnt get an NBA to coach him
May you think yourself at that
LeCoach
Lol everyone respects Coach K, besides Gregg Pop, Coach K may be the most respected coach including both NBA & College basketball coaches
Greatest basketball coach.
Coach K = Living Legend
I recognize Graham he was he in Days of our Lives i think
No.
Hahahaha!
lmfaooooo
Haha please
This is gold! 😂😂
Thought it said Mike Korzemba
Watch the one where he talks about jordan on the national team lol its the exact opposite lol
Never liked duke but I’ve always loved coach k. Such a genuine human being. Coach Ks last game will be a sad day for college basketball
A phony
I wonder how many people who watched this, and lit into LeBron, watched the entire video. Coach K and LeBron are extremely close;on several occasions, he has stated that LB is one of his favorite people, as well as one of his favorite players. In spite of his "coach killer" rep, he's played for 2 coaches who got fired...Paul Silas (which had nothing to do with James;that was an owner's decision) and David Blatt, who the GM at the time canned because he saw, at several practices how the TEAM was not responding to Blatt as he and Dan Gilbert had hoped he would. James could have spoken up in Blatt's defense, but didn't. Several NBA insiders have stated that James didn't have the "juice" with Gilbert that many people thought he did. And, Gilbert couldn't wait for LeBron to leave.
Remember, it took at least 2 years for MJ to respect Phil Jackson.
Glad I watched the entire video, and did some further research about Coach K and Lebron's relationship. The title doesn't tell or infer the whole story.
He also wanted Spo fired. Couldn't pull it off though because Spo is Riley's hand picked guy and managment had his back.
The disrespect for Blatt likely started with LBJ as he is a known basketball know it all who will ignore instructions and purposely half ass effort when he does listen if it's not being done his way.
@@_gamepoint_ True, because he didn't think the former video co-ordinator had what it took to be a good coach. Not to mention ,but most basketball experts and media questioned Spolestra's promotion as well;Riley said it reminded him of his own situation when he took over for Westhead;same scrutiny from players and media. And, like with Coach K, Lebron and Spo are good friends. Gotta learn to trust. James isn't alone in that regard (remember what I said about Jordan and Jackson )
With Blatt, LeBron not totally buying in, the GM and the OWNER made that call, after watching the TEAM tune him out in several practices. Gilbert was not really sold in Blatt...that was Dave Griffin's call, and a point of contention between the two off them until Griffin left the Cavs.
Kobe did the same thing with Del Harris. James isn't the only NBA superstar to ever be wary and distrustful of a coach.
@@_gamepoint_ In Riley's own words, James never asked that Spoelstra be fired. James, Wade and Bosh met Riley, who assured them that Spo could do the job;but, neither of the three asked for or demanded that Spoelstra be fired. There were "basketball insiders" who claimed that, in the wake of Blatt being fired by Dan Gilbert and David Griffin. But, after Riley went off on them, in a Sports Illustrated interview, many of them backtracked their remarks.
brad56t Do a little more research and explain why LeBron has never had a HOF coach. Then figure out whether it was Phil Jackson that earned his HOF status or was it Tex' triangle offense AND Jordan, Pippen, Kobe, and Shaq that got him his 11 rings. Figure out if it's the PLAYERS that make the HOF coach or the other way around. Tell everyone if Jackson would have ANY rings and HOF status without those four players. Then clarify why LeBron hasn't had made his coaches into HOF'ers.
@Ulysses432 Hopefully , you watched THE LAST DANCE .
interviewer got more make up than Kim K
Wtf I never noticed that 😂😂😂😂
very good interview but please change the tumbnail of the channel dude. This avoid a lot of subscriber i think. Put some letter of show name or something.
coach k is like, "look at me, I'm the captain now."
This is why he's a great coach
Greatest coach ever. Duke Nation baby.
"Dont make any excuses" .....oh how the mighty has fallen.
The best professor Duke has to offer
Yea
and that's why coach K is a legend
Graham always seems nervous when asking questions
This shows up in my feed as the KD led, current USA team, just lost to France.
4:10 who is that on the left?
Greatest coach in history
This man is a basketball genius ...
Great interview as always, but Graham's looking like "children of the corn" with all that make-up.
You could tell he was holding back on LeBron he wasn’t gonna break the trust. But you can tell the difference when he speaks about Kobe. Maybe LJ was a little bit better on the court but when it came to the intangibles Kobe was head and shoulders above LJ. For me it’s the reason I would want Kobe on a team I owned.
GOATs gonna GOAT
Coach K is the man.
I used to be able to dunk a tennis ball.
Coack K = Legend
Yep a legend for looking other way for day tripper and a thousand other things.
Indeed bro
Maybe David Blatt should have tried that : p
Remember that you're representing something bigger than you...
Lebron never got that memo.
Tell Luke to try telling bron look him in the eyes lol
Graham please don't stare at coach k lol
