Cowboy: "Hold my beverage. I'm going waterskiing."
haha!! Love it!
RMD Cade airplanes are cool!
Dear Santa: Carbon Cub, with a G1000 and Bush tires. 😍 One of my fav videos guys.
I was a huge Carbon Cub fan before I got to experience this.. now I'm on a whole different fan boy level.. Worth every penny that I don't have! - Alex
FliteTest We gotta cut down on food and all those other nonessentials to save for that Carbon Cub lol
Definitely not a G1000 but it's nice regardless :P
BitesCGI yep, it’s all about lightweight.. my underwear stays in the hotel during a Stol competition... yeeehaaa!!
Its not a g1000 its a garmin g3x touch
Guys, I LOVE he full scale stuff you’ve been doing. Stol flying is some of the best content you could have chosen and I’m glad you get to share on these adventures.
Happy flying!
Ive watched many a video from the flying cowboys themselves and they are easily the most fun ,well made , best videos... not in just back country flying but in all of aviation ... and then you boys come along , your not in the back country bush plane world..... and you produce one of the best videos in that realm capturing the spirit of the movement ..... and fluke your way in to what was one of the cowboys seemingly most epic flying day adventures ......freekin show offs lol ... : ) .... Thats envy your hearing ......amazing job
This is one of your best videos, really cool
Awesome guys !!!! I'm so happy you got to experience this !!!!! and bring us along
Awesome guys - I have been following Trent for the past few months so its great to see you guys hook up.That waterskiing is just ridiculous! Love it.

What an awesome way to see the country. Those bush pilots are awesome at what they do. What an awesome video.
bush planes are uber.
its awesome and eerie to think that all that stuff was lying there, as is, for so many many years...

plus thanks for the like
I officially want to own a plane
Do it! ha ;) . I have got the itch now its bad! hehe
@Jeff Rasberry annnnd you made it weird
If you live in the USA you have it easy... in Europe is a nightmare
Did you ever buy a plane?
That ( Saw ) you pointed out in the front of the old cabin was actually the blade from a sickle bar mower for cutting crops , in my younger days we still used one for cutting hay for winter feed.
N Hart that's amazing! Thanks for sharing!
As you panned to the right there were 8 sets of steel wheels. The 1st two look like a flatbed wagon, the set to the left in the back (I think) is the rest of that sickle mower. Don't know what that last set is. Love exploring old "frozen in time" stuff!!! Keep it up.
Loving the trainer paint scheme.
That sped up footage at 6:11 looks hilarious! That red plane is buzzing around like a dragonfly!
haha Right?! almost looks fake its so cool! ;)
I love it!
Great video
Now I know what Flite Test has been up to..... Holidays have messed up their schedule but thats ok!
Amazing content.
I really love this series with the Flying Cowboys. It makes me think of a challenge: A few guys from the shop should take their favourite planes and do a spot landing challenge.
Scout-Works FPV would be cool to get permission and have the competition at an rc field..
STOL flying is SICKNESS....Hell Yeah!!!!!!
very nice , and very nice airplane !! i love the wilga whit that engine ! ;-)
wow,, just wow..
Love the excitement these guys have for full sized aircraft.
They are amazing pilots and even more amazing individuals! ;) . Passion and excitement galore!! ;)
Ron Jones thanks... it is our passion for sure.. if we are not flying we are talking airplanes. It’s a sickness that allows us to keep our sanity.. thanks for the compliment!!
Cool video
That place sure was spooky, how on earth did they get wagons and other gear there in that inhospitable terrain ? this is a lovely video showing that water ski ing in that canyon, such beauty only accessible by bushplane, what a community and what bette than flying and living the dream, that place is a shrine to those who lived the life out there.
gostei muito!!!!!! Tenho aeromodelos mas nunca tive a oportunidade de voar em um avião de verdade, fico muito feliz por vocês desfrutarem dessa maravilhosa arte de voar.
Amazing
I love your videod
Crazy to see this place in a flight test video! I stayed right near there on a rafting trip I did years ago! I specifically remember eating stale bagels there for some reason
Gregg Hardie yep right past the property is a sand beach the rafters stop at...
For some reason seeing only stuff that has been left behind gives me extreme nostalgia even though I’ve never been there
Nice ride man, dont thin i could ever leave if i got out there :)
So thats why bush planes have big tires, they are used for plane water skiing :D
Which power pod does this take?
oh and i will always watch you
Wow. Those are some big rc planes
Occasional vertigo from the jerky cameras, but an otherwise awesome adventure and editing job! I'm working to switch "machines," so I can do a trip like that...
Awesome! If the only way in is by plane or river, how do they move the cattle in and out with the seasons?
This was what made me want to own a bush plane. a Kit Fox or a Just Aircraft Super STOL with 31" tundra tires. Wife NIX that idea. Still my dream
Flite Test da bomb!!
DOPE!!! Dauyymm, a bush Wilga!! :D Being Polish myself, I wonder abt story behind that plane?! It doesn't seem to have original engine and chassis as well, omg ! :D
That Black/Grey/Orange cub looks awesome! I’m guessing those that was a customs job?
Cory Robin nice! I never knew about the Carbon Cub till this video and I can easily say I that I want one, they look so fun to fly. Right now I’m working on my Professional Pilot degree so it’ll be quite a while before I can invest in one.
Cory Robin you guys are based out of Utah right? I’ll definitely hit you guys up if I’m ever in the area.
thats f***ing epic flying in canyons lol
Amazing. They're nuts... but amazing.
This class of plane (VSTOL?) is one of the most interesting IMHO. I have flown older conventional aircraft (PA-180) but if I get back into it (if I find the money to do it) I would certainly look into these. _steveo1kinevo_ had a nice in cab perspective of a first flight in a carbon cub that also showed of this type of plane's performance.
- Eddy
I think it's just STOL
If you really want to see performance check this out...
czcams.com/video/pCCzpWUNcIU/video.html
check out flightchops to see some training on the carbon cub series
Awesome! I wonder how many of us here are subbed to steveo1kinevo and flightchops.
Don't forget _MrAviation101_ as well...
what variant of the wilga is that? because it sounds like an O-470 or an O-540 6 cylinder
Absolutely fantastic guys! Y'all need to find a way to get a ride in N550AA next. The prototype Helio Stallion and unmatched king of STOL. It's based out of KCEU, so you could combine the trip with Joe Nall.
joshuawfinn I would like to have a competition with the unmatched king of Stol, how many feet does the king need to land? How much to take off? Need to be less that 80 feet for takeoff and less than 110 landing to compete with the cc....
Jason, put 6 people, four rocket pods, and a 50 cal in there and see who can still hold on at 35 kts. ;)
I agree with you... it is awesome for that... (and way better than a cc) but you said competition, and they are done with minimal fuel and one person... Not trying to start a fight or anything, that aircraft is awesome... But in a competition, it is not going to compete with a CC. Have fun and fly safe!
Jason, if you go back, I never called for a competition, that was your challenge. And sure, single pilot with minimum fuel you'll break ground first, but in the operational world, most of us need more than two seats. I don't know of another airplane out there that has demonstrated carrying the equivalent of 8 people and a full load of stuff at less than 35 kts. That's why the folks who flew in the jungles lusted after the Stallion as the ultimate bush bird. Sadly CIA priorities and crazy stuff prevented anything beyond the initial 21 or so AU-24 frames and we're left with only two flyable airplanes, both stuck in the experimental category. Still, 6500 lb gross weight is just incredible. I believe the Sherpa ended up with similar specs (maybe it could do the 35 kt thing?). Too bad that hasn't really gone anywhere. The flight videos made it look like a pretty spectacular airplane if a bit sluggish in cruise. And alas it's all academic at this point. Sad since people on the frontier could really use something that doesn't burn avgas.
Cory, yeah, it's one sweet bird. I've actually touched it but have never gotten to see it fly. It is perhaps the most imposing civilian aircraft ever built. There's just something about it that screams of what it was built to do, and indeed, it had so many mission goals and met them all--at the cost of having an unimaginably high pilot workload. I've heard rumors that it is impossible for a single pilot to control it at MCA because of how much banging of the stick and pedals is going on just to tame all that torque. The tail looks like it was built to withstand a nuclear blast and as a result there's a huge amount of inertia back there. Then add the roll inertia of tip tanks...gets crazy fast. The wing spar is absolutely incredible, and yet I've heard hints that the CIA guys may have managed to break one of them.
at the 15:03 mark the Hawk looks like he came in to show you that he's got skills too, and was flying formation for a few seconds!
cool vid
I am going on an introductory flight in two days in a Cessna 150! You should do more vids on the peitenpole!
Rest in piece Creighton… you will be missed.
This video makes me want to straight up build a plane in my garage
does anyone have the coordinates of the ranch. its not seen on sectional. thanks
Great video! One point of criticism though: I've found warp stabilizer to work best when used minimally, around 5-15% stabilization. It goes from kind of okay to nausea inducing really fast so I would recommend keeping it to the minimum amount that makes your shot watchable.
thanks Mika! I won't lie, I generally have no idea what i'm doing when it comes to video editing! Just making it up as I go:) -Alex
That thing didn't land it hovered till he put the brakes on. Its crazy a design from the 1930s is still a top performer
You should have brought me! I live here! ;)
You guys thought to fly your simple cub water skiing?
*Water Skiing AIRCRAFT!!!!* 😳😎👏👏👏👏
Hey Guys, next time you go to Utah to do this... I'm right in Arizona. PICK ME UP! Please?
Carmine ✈🚂🚙
Guys like me look back at 51 and now ask "Where did I make a wrong turn?". Not you guys though. I love what you guys do.
I always wanted a plane of my own when i grow up. Just decided it will be a bush plane😱
Boom! Perfect! ha
I would have said the wood structures were older than the adobe structure.
Building a bush plane out of home depot insulation foam might be a fun idea for a video!
peter sripol did that :)
Carter Tomasko I was about to say dat!!!
I guess you could call it
HydroPLANING HAAAHAAAA
WOW
Looks like i have some mods and a paintjob for the nushwacker
3:57 Explains where the name "Flying Cowboys" comes from!
Fun planes, what's the average cost to build or buy?
Looks like a plane made for the Tundra.
I see them as extreme bush planes. Very short take off and landing specs. allow them to land on small spits of sand on a river.
