Another excellent, straight to the point, and easily understood lesson! I've watched a lot of videos here on CZcams and you are the best instructor I have found.
Best explanations, short, precise, on the point. Great 👍
Just discovered your channel and this video--outstanding! Clear, concise, great understandable instructions . . . fantastic. I realize I am writing this 5 years after you made this video, but I hope you are still producing content!
You are such a good rider, you good first!
I appreciate very much Your advices, actually this is the best channel ever around on subject! Not to be afraid of front brake on downhill is great tip for me, thanks.
my right ear is lonely (although awesome video, very informational)
Another great video. Thanks Clinton!
super cool video keep them coming
Great video! I have a beginner question about hill climb on an adventure bike. Most people suggest to standup and body forward then gas it up. My problem is every time I gas it, even just a little gas, my body falls backwards and ended up with more throttle. I don’t seem to be able to keep my body forward. Looking forward to hear your valuable suggestions, thanks!
I had the same problem when I started adventure riding. I felt like I was waterskiing being the bike with the handlebars as a tow rope on hills and hanging on for dear life, it was super fatiguing, and I had poor control over the throttle. You are probably not leaning forward as much as you think you are, or you're just pivoting at the hip vs really leaning your body forward and getting your center of mass into the front of the bike. Or you're waiting until the bike is already climbing and accelerating before you lean forward...if you wait then you just get tossed in the back seat and it's hard to overcome the acceleration. Have a buddy video you from the side. Also, a good drill/excercise for body position is to roll along on flat ground while standing, lean your body forward and then lightly accelerate....try to anticipate the bikes movement so that it doesn't throw you back and tug on your arms. Do the same for decelerating, lean back and try to not be tossed forward. Practice this a bunch and you'll start getting a better feel for how to position your body and not put so much load/strain on your arms.
Learnt some good stuff there mate, cheers.
...great tips.
Nice Tip! But if the front wheel are sliping a little. What do you suggest?
Most modern adventure bikes have ABS; I have become familiar with front break going downhill in bad slippery asphalt roads (uneven, potholes), even in wet conditions applying quite big forces on front tire alone. Driving standing up in Athens is a must in the city. Some neighborhoods have 15 to 20% inclination with slippery asphalt. If there is any slippage to happen, modern ABS will save the fall.
hi mr in what state are you
Downhill front brakes is new thing I hear. I am moderate rider not pro.
