Thanks for these riding thorough the mud and puddles clips. Great knowledge share. Hope I can do it this good one day. Dropped my brand new 1250GS going through a not too serious puddle. She’s not a virgin any more !

What about miles of muddy track, not necessarily deep, just long. Is this even realistic on anything over 350 lbs?

Hey Clint, I was wondering... how important is it to have off road tires for doing these kind of things on an adventure bike? I have been attempting some off road with my vstrom with shinko 705s on it and have been struggling on soggy sandy mud. I would imagine that a more aggressive tread would help but does it make that much of a difference?

I'm a different "Clint" but if I may chime in... I changed to a Dunlop D606 (from an Avon Gripster) and I'll never go back for dirt roads, sand, mud, etc. I run the D606 at 12-15 psi and the hook-up is phenomenal. The only thing better in sand is a paddle tire. Unfortunately, the D606 on the road is a bit rough.

Mainstream Moto Makes a big difference. Without aggressive tread is very similar to aqua planing on a road. Your tyres soon but don't have any traction. With aggressive tread you have a chance to dig in an push off the harder mud underneath the top layers.

Wow, that’s some hardcore off-roading right there with a $25k BMW through a 3” puddle. My buddies and me would be tearing that shit up with our DRZ’s.

Sry I mean dirt bike cannot travel far with ease.
Any bike can travel far, as long as the rider can endure.

@Grzegorz Porzucek No Grzegorz you need something heavy, suzuki DR 650 is not in fashion, you need to double the weight more fun!!!! And so you can travel far!!!
So why is it we don't meet Big BMW's on the tracks?????
