Baselworld 2018 sees Oris go big with its flagship Oris Big Crown ProPilot Caliber 114. The 44mm sports watch features Oris' fifth in-house caliber since the Caliber 110 launched in 2014. The new Oris Big Crown ProPilot features a 24-hour hand tracing a second time zone; it can be set in 30-minute (half hour) steps to permit accurate setting of the reference time from more than the 24 standard time zones (e.g., India and Australia). Oris Caliber 114 is a manual wind movement with a 10-day power reserve, a date, the second time zone, hacking seconds, and a beat rate of 21,600. Luxury watches such as the Big Crown ProPilot are expected to offer handsome movements, and the Oris delivers with an expansive display caseback. 100-meter water resistance ensures that this 44mm stainless steel luxury pilot's watch is equally at home among - or below - the waves. Black dial and grey dial options are available, and both straps and bracelets can be selected. Prices range from 5,500 to 5,800 Swiss franks for this luxury GMT watch. Separately, Oris offers three new models of the Big Crown Pointer Date; 40mm, 36mm, and 36mm with bronze case. The bronze Oris Big Crown Pointer date features a handsome green dial and a bronze case that is designed to produce a natural patina coat over time. Finally, a new version of the Oris Divers Sixty Five dive watch debuts with steel case and bronze bezel; the model is available in both Oris Divers Sixty Five 40mm and 36mm case sizes. Both 2018 Oris Divers Sixty Five case sizes are water resistant to 100 meters.

I have the Calibre 111, it's incredible. Swiss Made and affordable, you can't beat Oris!
Oh my lord Tim. Just saw Patek’s 2018 releases - brilliance. Not a Nautilus fan myself but the new Nautilus Perpetual Calendar must have some of your team losing their minds!!! But that 5270P has brought a tear to my eye
Oris is great value!
Agree. The caliber 110 family is excellent. My only suggestion for improvement is for Oris to think about how to package these movements in watches that are more distinctive than the generic dress/pilot case and dial combinations currently being used. A 10-day caliber 110 in a 42-42mm Aquis diver would be awesome.
Best,
Tim
Tim, love the format. Great idea to give us the latest from Basel for each brand. Congrats. I liked very much the vintage inspired pilot watch from oris.
Hi Sebastian, thanks for watching. We're struggling with a blizzard (hopefully our last!) in Philadelphia right now, so our next batch of new and analysis will go live tomorrow. Since we can't break the Rolex/Patek/Omega news, for example, we'll be offering insights and opinions on the relative success of the new models.
Best,
Tim
WatchBox Studios Thanks Tim, hope for better weather your way. Please do a special regarding the new Rolex GMT Pepsi bezel, stainless steel with jubilee bracelet. From the pictures, I got to say, I love it. Also please do a special showcasing the differences between the new deepsea seadweller vs the old model. A side by side will be great one day. I'll be waiting for your updates, and as always great job Tim.
Oris most under rated and absolute best watch for the money in the world...(My opinion)
Very very good value for Money from the Oris line and that 10 day movement.... wow!
Thanks for the comment! Oris has had some great release in recent years. We are big fans of the brand!

Excellent Oris overview.
Nice offerings from Oris.
need that bronze big crown!
It's a sharp watch once you add the green dial and the aged leather strap. The price is right, too.
Best,
Tim
WatchBox Studios thanks Tim. One of the nicest watches I've seen at Basel imo. What do you think of Tudor and Rolex doing Pepsi GMTs? Seems a bit much
Wish that Pro Pilot was 42mm. Oris is fantastic.
Great video as ever Tim, just wondering what a Swiss Fronc is?
Hi Tim: Great Job! Like you, I'm glued to Baselworld. I love the Pointer Date Heritage with the blue dial. Do you know the lug to lug size? Also, is there any concern with the Sellita SW 200-1 caliber? I wish they used an ETA. Thanks, Mike K
My two-part reaction to the Big Crown Bronze:
1: Finally! A bronze wristwatch with classic styling, a classic size, beautiful dial, everything I want from a bronze watch and an Oris!
2: 17mm lug width???? WTF ORIS????
Thank you for the video. Does oris big crown Pointer Date 36mm have sapphire case front ?
What’s on your head there captain?
Thanks for the brief but all rounded review. . One suggestion. Please don't take your eye to the right of the screen (you have been looking to the left of the camera a lot of times), it distracts from your otherwise engaging review. . Thanks
@Tim Re: Big Crown Pointer Date - their site differentiates between 'Oris Big Crown ORIGINAL Pointer Date' and 'Oris Big Crown Pointer Date' with ORIGINAL omitted. It's hard to tell the difference is between these lines. Is it just the exhibition case back?
What's with the sunglasses?
He's s biker
Thank you for the great review Tim!!! Question, which would recommend for my 1st luxury watch, the Oris Propilot 114 or New Omega Seamaster 300m). I have an Oris Aquis but not an Omega in my collection., love them both equally but can only get 1.
Will they make a less tapered men’s leather strap for the big pointer bronze?
What do you think of Breguet 5177 or A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia AUTOMATIC? which one is better for the money
You're late on your Rolex Basel coverage, Watchbox!
I'm guessing this was pre-recorded because Oris gave them the info ahead of time. Rolex doesn't do that AFAIK.
very fashionable to wear sunglasses on the head upside down
Those shades tho

Thanks for watching!

Looks like Tudo black bay....
The visual aesthetics of the new Big Pilot take a backseat to the new movement. 👍👍👍36 mm case? 👎👎👎 Nothing jumped out from Oris.
44mm !! $5500 !! pfff
To be fair, I've tried them, and they wear smaller than 44mm. This case design wears more like a normal 42.
Best,
Tim
You have your sunglasses on upside down
